Yep, that's it.
To use mods just create a custom folder. Just like normal HL2 it will automatically scan vpks and mod folders (unfortunately weapon mods don't work, and I'm not too sure on map mods either).

If it's your first time doing this, just create it as follows:
"Half-Life 2 VR>hl2>custom" (and if you have mod folders those go in the same folder "custom>mod_folder_here").

Just wanted to clear up any confusion.

yo boys you can also port hl2 workshop mods here. but from what i found you can only do 1 mod tho. so what you do is subscribe to the mod, find the mod ID number which is in the URL when you are on the mod page. copy this number or remember it. go on to the hard drive you got hl2 on and go to steam apps > workshop > content > 220 (220 is half life 2s steam ID) > then find that mod number. open that file and you should find a workshop 000 vpk and a workshop dir file. put both of these in your hl2 vr custom folder and it should work as long as its not like a weapon mod or nothing. no clue how to get multiple workshop mods to work at a time if any of you find out how tell me :eli:

@KIEL, those should still work out of box, this is if you wanna extract a vpk (if you don't know, that's ok) or download mods from the web (gamebanana). Most ppl just know what this is alr bc it's a source engine thing.

In their official FAQ, they state that as long as a mod doesn't use custom code, it should work.

some extra info is that the mod has been directly put into the custom folder and some models do work properly from what i can tell, is there any files i am missing or anything i should change?

im having an issue with loading nightmare house 2 in vr where many of the objects are showing up as error models, but when ran normally appears correctly. I think this might be to do with it trying to access default source models and it not working but im unsure
