Crafting for beginners
By Mizufluffy
This guide shows you the first steps for crafting. Where to find NPC? How to learn recipes? It also tells why cores are needed in crafting and how to make them. If you have never crafted in Aura Kingdom before then this guide is for you.

Where?
Before you can start crafting it would be good idea to know where you can find NPC for crafting. Probably most well known and often used is Knight Blacksmith Analisa (X:820,Y:430) in Navea. Old Man Harvey in Demarech Mines can also help you with crafting (X:140,Y:600). One patch added quite a few Refining Dream Team Blacksmiths in several maps who can also help you with crafting, for example, Blacksmith Keith can be found in Crescent Hill at (X:460,Y:715) and not far from Templar Anya outside of Navea.

Left side image shows Analisa's location on map, other image shows Analisa herself.
Learning recipes
First thing to remember is that crafting can not be done without learning recipes. Second thing to remember is that you need to learn recipe only once to be able to use it on all of your characters in same account on same server. This means that even though recipes may be expensive (if you buy them either from npc or from other players) then they serve you very long time.

Let's take a look at picture below,

This is what you see when you first open Smithing window with npc. Learned recipes goes to categories that you can see on picture. All clear? Okay, click "New Recipes" next.

Here you can find list of recipes you haven't yet learned from npc. You may change the category from "Display All" to either Lvl 40, 50 or 60 Recipes. This makes it easier to find recipes closer to your own level.

Let's assume you would want to learn level 40 recipe for gunslinger weapon "Captain's Pistols". You click "Learn" and you will see this,

and if you are fine with the cost of recipe and you are sure you want to learn the recipe then click "OK" to accept.

This basically covers recipes what you find from npc but what about those weird recipes you have picked up from dungeons? How to learn them?

Perhaps this image will help,

You need to drag & drop your recipe from your inventory to "Special" slot in Recipe List window and then click "Pay". It says "Additional fees are required." but I believe it means only the actual recipe as price, there is no silver or gold loss that I would have noticed when learning these kind of recipes.
Crafting
So, now we have learned few nice recipes and are ready to craft, right? Wrong!

Let's take this recipe as example,

Luckily we had Noripan's Miracle Seed in our inventory and it works as base material for crafting when we are making Noripan's Emerald Leaf but we don't have other required item, Ritual Trophy Core.

So, we need to learn recipe for it,

Finally we have recipe for Ritual Trophy Core and it seems we even have enough Silver Star Stones and Kyanites to make one but we lack Magnetic Alloy. You might now guess where to get those... exactly! We need another recipe for it from npc. Just a moment...

Okay, now we have recipe for Magnetic Alloy. We need 5x Magnetic Alloys for one Ritual Trophy Core and because one Magnetic Alloy requires 3x Cyan Iron Ore and 1x Red Agate then we need 5*3 = 15 Cyan Iron Ore and 1*3 = 3 Red Agate for 5x Magnetic Alloys that can be used for one Ritual Trophy Core.

I didn't take images for next steps but it's easy to explain based on previous images. We make 5 of those alloys, then we make one core and then we can get one Noripan's Emerald Leaf. Simple.

But if you need to buy several recipes from npc for many different cores then this can get quite expensive. Each piece of different level of armor or weapon uses different type of cores. There are also several kind of alloys that are used for only few for cores. And for example level 60 weapon recipes costs 120g per each and level 60 core recipes for them costs 60g per each and even costs for actual crafting are getting quite expensive. If you make one level 60 crafted weapon from scratch and farm materials, buy all required recipes (weapon recipe, core recipe, alloy recipe) and craft everything by yourself then it can easily cost about 200 gold.

Few things are important to remember:
  • Crafting product, item you get from crafting, is "cannot trade" so you can't sell or buy them from other players (but you can give them to your other characters via shared warehouse).
  • The least you need for crafting are 1) recipe, 2) core, 3) base part of item you want to craft.
  • You can buy and sell cores, some cores might be cheap or expensive depending on their usefulness and level.
  • Crafting material (such as Cyan Iron Ore, Kyanite, etc.) tells you in description what it can be used for. For example Red Agate is used for Lv40 Alloys along with other materials.
Materials
If you have read this guide so far then you should be able to do crafting without ever touching alloy or core recipes (because cores can be bought from other players). But it wouldn't really hurt to explain materials a little so you know what they can be used for if you happen to find them.

  • Lv30 Cyan Iron Ore, required for Lv40 Alloys
  • Lv40 Amethyst, required for Lv40 Alloys
  • Lv40 Red Agate, required for Lv40 Alloys
  • Lv50 Cuprite, required for Lv50 Alloys
  • Lv50 Luminous Emerald, required for Lv50 Alloys
  • Lv50 Ancient Amber, required for Lv50 Alloys
  • Lv60 Purple Gold Ore, required for Lv60 Alloys
  • Lv60 Tiger's Eye Pearl, required for Lv60 Alloys
  • Lv60 Jade from the Deep, required for Lv60 Alloys
  • Lv60 Jade Lazuli, required for Lv60 Alloys
  • Lv40 Silver Star Stone, required for Lv40 Cores
  • Lv40 Kyanite, required for Lv40 Armor Refining Cores
  • Lv40 Malachite, required for Lv40 Weapon Refining Cores
  • Lv50 Star Obsidian, required for Lv50 Cores
  • Lv50 Molten Steel Stone, required for Lv50 Armor Refining Cores
  • Lv50 Blood Coral, required for Lv50 Weapon Refining Cores
  • Lv60 Firefly Star Stone + many other Lv60 materials, required for Lv60 Cores

And where to get these? They can be farmed from dungeons but some of them can be mined from maps with Pickaxe. They can be also bought from other players but be warned, some of the materials might be sold for relative higher price than you might be expect.
What this guide didn't cover...
You thought this was all there was to know about crafting? Not at all. This guide didn't cover for example
  • Lv70+ materials (I believe they were added after the guide was written)
  • Crafting Ranks (from E to A).
  • What kind of bonuses different type of cores gives.
  • How to increase chances of getting higher % value on crafted weapons & armors.
  • + many other things.

Thank you for reading.
Enjoyable crafting time!

Screenshots were taken by me, guide was written by me. I honestly don't know everything there is to know about crafting but I have done some crafting in Aura Kingdom and guide is based on my own experiences of what I have learned. I didn't read nor check out other crafting related guides while making this guide.

Just want to add that % will always be within + or - 10 of the material you use (for a maximum of 130%). Higher grades mean likely hood that it will lean more to a higher + %.
~The elemental attribute will also be the same as the material you use. :Merrilee:

The crafting system in this game is way to complicated for anyone to truely master on their own without extensive effort, but you did a good job getting the basic information out. Thanks for the really helpful guide!

@ZodiacDragonStar
I can try to do that later if I remember and when I have time. I already know where few of them can be mined but finding several accurate locations in several maps and for several materials would take more time than I can currently spend on the game. I don't want to make empty promises but I would like to make your suggestion come true when I have more time.

can you add in the maps where the materials are found by mining? either general area or the exact coordinates will be nice.
