Broken Reality is a humorous adventure through 3D vaporwave madness. While most of the puzzles are easy to figure out on your own, there aren't any guides on steam to help you if you get stuck. Read on for help at specific points.

This is the first area you will explore. Start collecting likes, and make sure to use your LIKE ability to like the various advertisements posted around. The items below will help you progress:

Bookmarker
This can be obtained when you walk through the Japanese area and reach a small lake. Dive under the lake to retrieve it from a clam. To leave this area, select the bookmarker and left click on the staircase to the right of the lake. Activate the staircase, then left click again to teleport.

Katana
Quest: The Broken Blade
To obtain the KATANA, take the quest from the elder in the Japanese area. Talk to him to receive a quest. There are 3 parts to collect.

1. Down the road from the elder, there is a katana part in the gazebo
2. Walk all the way up the mountain
3. In the lounge next to the pink Moai statues

You also need DATA TEA. Talk to the guy at the beach and you will receive a quest. Then walk down the beach until you come across a dock with huts on it. Walk to the end and speak to the person at the kiosk to receive a CAMERA. Use this to take pictures and earn likes.

Use your camera on the beach guy and you will receive DATA TEA.

Turn all these in. Once you get the katana, then you can slash away at any anti-virus and reach new areas!

Credit Card
You will become the ultimate debt machine. Destroy the viruses blocking the central plaza, walk all the way down the stairs, and take a left. Talk to the person at the kiosk to receive a CREDIT CARD. Use this to buy literally everything.

To open the DRAGON ROAD
Complete the Heat Waves quest from the Moai statues. You'll need:
1. The shiba inu hat from the shopkeeper
2. One pair of sunglasses
3. Sunscreen from B Mart

Progress through Dragon Road and you will receive HYPERLINKER.

Eventually you'll want to make your way to the Admin. Go to the pool, then enter the triangular elevator.

After you speak with the Admin, use the Bookmarker to go back up the elevator. Now you can go back up to the white gazebo in the sky and leave to the Axis Plaza!

This is a hub level. Use this to access all the other areas!

If you've been taking pictures and liking ads, you should have enough likes to enter the door that costs 350 (the one in the little foyer with framed pictures on the walls). This will take you to Aquanet.

The bridge will give out, but don't worry. There's probably a way out of this.

First thing you'll want to do is talk to Socrates, who is in the central building under the large statue. He will tell you to show off your skills. Use the katana to slash at all the viruses. Don't worry, you can attempt this as many times as you need to. When successful, you will receive an upgraded camera. With this camera, you can solve more puzzles by enabling the "glitch" lens.

Choose any of the three temples to start with. I will refer to them by color, according to the map.

RED temple:
Use the glitch lens to enter. Step through the first electric door when it turns off briefly. Slash the ice block(?) with the katana to turn off the second electric door. Use the Bookmarker to bypass the electricity on the stairs. Slash the ice block to disable it.

Talk to the man in the plaza to receive your next quest. He will ask you to fix the three temple seals.

Use the glitch lens and the Hyperlinker to bypass the electric door blocking the stairs nearest to the Phisherman. Make your way along the cliff until you reach another building. Enter and walk to the back, where you will see several electric barriers. These are timed, so just wait for an opening and walk through carefully. Use the katana to break the ice block.

You will see a lever. Skip the lever and walk to the opposite end of this room, then turn right to see another lever. Place a bookmark here. Go back to the first lever, pull it, left click, then pull the second lever. Now you can use the Hyperlinker to teleport to the second level.

Talk to Hacking Ph. D to learn how to hack. Yes! Now you will be presented with a memory game. It is very easy. Once you complete it, escape the temple.

Now go back down to the plaza, past the Phisherman, and up the opposite stairs. Use the Bookmarker to bypass the moving electric barrier. Drop down the hole and use the glitch lens to fix the seal.

GOLD temple:
Use the glitch lens to enter. Break the viruses on the computer fan, then when you go up the stairs break the viruses on the other computer fan. Across the walkway and at the switch with 1's and 0's, use the Bookmarker and the switch to pass the wall. Use the glitch lens once you bypass it.

Use the Hyperlinker to teleport up and guide yourself toward the ledge. Slash at the viruses and hyperlink your way to the other side of the temple. Break the viruses at the next computer fan. Hyperlink yourself across the temple again, this time looking up. Break the viruses at the next computer fan.

Now, drop down and hit the lever at the weird door with the pillars. This will open the weird door. Use the glitch lens to see an invisible staircase. When you reach the top, look around and you will see those eyeball things. Connect them and you will fix the seal.

GRAY temple:
Use the glitch lens to enter. Inside, you will see two variables on the wall, x and y. Remember these. The equations you will need are as follows:

1. x + y = ?

2. z = x + y + x
if(z = odd_number){
RoundUpToEven();
}
Ex. if your z is 9, round up to 10, etc. and this will be your z.

3. offset = z * x

4. y + offset = ?

--NOTE--
It seems to work more consistently if z is the lower number, so try that first. Here is a comment from the developer:

(if x = 4 and y = 1)
"First answer should be 5 (4 + 1)
Z should be 9 (4 + 1 + 4)
Offset should either be 36 or 40, (either 9x4 or 10x4)
Making the last answer either 37 or 41. Think it should be 37, but I sometimes get these wrong. The trick is hitting 37 and saving two "2" cards so you can check both numbers on the same try."

Now for each of these, you will use the Credit Card to purchase the exact amount of memory you need, equaling the solution.

Now, talk to the Phisherman again to complete the quest and leave Aquanet! Well, not before you finish exploring what's on the bridge.

You need 1250 likes to reach the next section, which you should easily be able to manage if you take some time to collect photos and uncover secrets with the glitch camera. If you're just short, make sure you explore higher up in Axis Plaza:

Go to where the people are watching the flamingos. Facing the flamingos, turn left and use the hyperlinker near the waterfall. Then look up and you should see one just above the ledge to your left. Use the hyperlinker there. This will lead you to more likes.

Alternatively, you can enter the back of the cruise ship for 800 likes to bypass the 3000 like barrier.

Once you have 2150 likes, enter the train station. Take the furthest train back.

Note: leave the cans because you'll need them later.

When you get to Geocity, make your way up past the viruses and talk to Phisherman again to get a new quest: PAY YO' DEBT. Unfortunately, you've amassed quite a lot of debt and you need to pay it off.

There is lots to explore. Collect likes, shop around, slash barriers to your heart's content. Make sure to use the glitch lens in the alleyway next to the truck crash because you'll need it later.

When you get to the fast cowboy jumping out of the sewers, place a bookmark at one of them and walk away. When you see him jump out, left click to catch him. Then talk to the dude at the poker table at the bar nearby. He will direct you to deliver a package to Blaze Runner. New quest: DELIVER PACKAGE.

Make sure to actually grab the box, because I did not do this the first time. The police are not too difficult to dodge. It's worth it to get caught once because there are some likes to collect. Now when you reach the truck crash, there are hyperlinks you can use to bypass those pesky cops who won't move. Throw the package, then hyperlink. Throw the package at the old smoke shop lady.

Talk to Lil' Thug at the entrance to get another quest: DELIVER MESSAGE. Now you can break windows!

To deliver the "message" go to where the truck crash is and look left; there is a gaming store blocked by windows. Break the windows, buy everything, then use the katana to break the pedestals. Whether you break all of them depends on how mean you want to be. :)

Go back to the jumping cowboy and find the alleyway next to a line of traffic cones with a Dorados ad at the end. Use the glitch lens to reveal a green dude named Toxico Man. Talk to him to get the quest GRAND DOWNLOAD AUTO.

Take a picture of the truck crash, then go to the area in the SW marked on your map. Use the glitch lens to reveal the car. Walk to the hood of the car and complete the matching puzzle to "download" the car.

Even though your money is probably still in the negative, go talk to Phisherman and he will give you the PLATINUM CARD. Now you can go past the truck crash.

Explore this area, and you will quickly clear your debt. QUICKLY.

Ways to make mega bucks:

Money piles around the city

Talk to the clerk at Natem DTop and they will give you a quest, BECOME MILLIONAIRE.

Talk to Chozai and he will give you the quest FREE GEOCITY OF MALWARE.

In the SW area, you'll see a shop where you can gamble for 120k. Since you have the new card though you will gain money from each spin.

Talk to Cam Girl near the stairs. She will tell you about re:cycling and give you the quest MEGA PEPENATOR. Now you can throw cans and get money for trick shots. Yes. She will give you lots of money.

Talk to the photo guy (same one you saw on the beach) in the big central plaza and he will give you the quest STREET PHOTOGRAPHER.

Find the club up North near the tower and talk to Player. They will give you the quest DROP THE BASS.

Climb up the escalator and make your way to the Tres Aliens club. Talk to one of the skeletons to get the quest MARIACHI LOCO.

Do you have enough quests yet? :)

After you've done some exploring, you should have 1 mil by the time you complete MEGA PEPENATOR, STREET PHOTOGRAPHER, and FREE GEOCITY OF MALWARE. Enter the tower and talk to the clerk, then take the elevator. Use the glitch lens in this room. This will reveal two escalators that take you up to a room with a not gamecube. Pick up the TRIANGLE CAMERA on the chair. Use the glitch lens to reveal three eyes on the portrait behind the chair.

Talk to Oneechan, then leave. Unfortunately, you can't use the elevator. Use the glitch lens on the balcony to reveal a ramp. Now you can jump off the tower. :) Now uh.. you're back in Axis Plaza. Feel free to go back and grab collectibles, or move onto the next area.

When you reach the room with the levers, use the Bookmarker to hit both levers in the center of the room and it will open the glass door.

Climb up the stairs and use hyperlinks to get up to the lever puzzles. Use the bookmarker in the rotating platforms, then hit the lever to get to the other side. The four sided platform higher up is a longer version of this.

Once you've reached the top of this room and entered the elevator, you will be taken to a kitchen and asked to serve customers. The food recipes are on the wall. For each recipe, pick up each ingredient and place it on the red shelf. When it's done it will appear on the green shelf. Take each dish out to serve the customer by clicking on the plate with the food.

After this, you will be granted access to the deck. Yes! Except... there are still things to do. Talk to the barkeep near the pool with the dude in the middle to get a quest to find all 8 bar items. They are scattered around the deck of the cruise ship and in bushes.

Talk also to the dude in the middle of the pool. He's the same one you took a picture for on the beach.

1. Green spiky friend: at the other side of the swimming pool
2. Moon from the highest point: unlock VIP (see below) and hyperlink to the top of the gem.
3. Bathroom door: down the elevator, pretty self-explanatory

He will give you three keys.

Talk to the person at the kiosk with the green gem behind them. They will tell you about a contest. Talk to them again to start the contest. Buy all the items as fast as you can (in the right order!) to get the green gem; give this to the guy next to the diving board. Now you can swim to the other side.

After you get all the bar items, you can go up the slides near the bar pool to access the VIP section. Talk to the person at the kiosk, who wants a sandwich. Make them a sandwich and buy the gem they offer. Take this gem to the guy on the other side of the swimming pool.

All those keys you've been picking up can finally be put to use, since you will be granted access to the cabin.

In 7005 you can get the last key by throwing out the stalker in the bathroom. Now you can enter the door at the end of the hall. After a short conversation, you can leave the area.

This is the last area in the game. It requires 3900 likes to get in. Enter near the construction sign on the train across the walkway from the train that takes you to Geocity.

In this room you will find two puzzle solutions for the tile puzzle in the middle of the room, both of which open portals.

The first portal:

On this ledge there are two children to rescue. Go down 2 levels, take a right (around the fence) and drop onto the ledge with the little bridge. Walk until you go down some ramps and reach another fence. Use the glitch lens to bypass and rescue another child. Leave and hyperlink your way across the blood lake. Walk under the ledge, look up, and hyperlink to rescue another child. Then hyperlink across the lake (using the links under the platforms) to rescue another child.

Drop down to the bottom level of this area to find a portal. Enter and find Error, who will give you the quest SAVE THE CHILDREN. Ah, now we know what we're doing. Leave and find a child near the portal. Hyperlink to the nearby tower, then to the platform to the right, then again to the next tower. Make your way up to the last child for this area.

Now enter the hub level again make your way up to the very top middle platform. I suggest placing a bookmark in case you fall. Face the hyperlink to the left of the portal you just used. Enable slow-mo with the credit card, pull out the hyperlinker, and hyperlink to the ledge on the wall. Now enter the portal.

The second portal:

There is a child under the stairs in the hedge maze.

Drop down into the maze and press all the buttons to extend the bridge. There is a child right next to a hyperlink in the maze. Enter the tower, press the red button, and use the bookmarker to cross on the red platform. Go up and do this also with the green button. Leave a bookmark on the green platform, then go back into the tower and press the red button again so the second red platform goes down. Go to the bookmark on the green platform and place a bookmark on the red platform. Go back again and press the red button. Now go to your bookmark and rescue the child.

Make your way to the original entrance again and hyperlink up the tower until you're about in the middle. Turn right and walk through the portal. Turn right again, drop down, and pick up the child. Drop down and enter the portal again, this time going down the blocks on the right. Drop down onto a red pathway and enter the portal. Phisherman will give you part of a code.

That's all the children; you can leave. Make sure to return to Error. Now the puzzle solution is revealed and you can complete it in the hub level.
