Large Scale Random Battles (for when you're too lazy to make your own)
By LLucky501
A guide on making your own large scale battles when you're too lazy to yourself. These battles while not historically accurate try to loosely follow along real events in history. I try to balance performance/team balance/uniqueness to provide a good experience. I'm open to battle suggestions in the comments but I wont be necessarily able to create certain scenarios. I will add more scenarios when possible.

How to
-Copy all the settings, unit information and positions to best recreate the battles. This can be found in the screenshots posted by each battle.

-Custom units, if used in a battle, will be detailed in a separate section so that you can make your own units that have the same stats (each battle with custom units will be demarcated as such).
Optimal Settings for Best Gameplay
Graphics: Potato (for mid to low end computers this is necessary to achieve decent frame rates)

RTS mode: off (unless you want to command groups of units during the battle disable this setting)

Blood Volumes: on (not necessary but very atmospheric)

Local Boundaries: on (to help performance)
Mongol Invasion of a Persian City (2+ hours)
A map composed of a three staged invasion of the city. (on the City Of Troy map) The invading team is the Mongols backed up by catapults and the defending team is the Persians supported by archers. The first stage is composed of battles on the bridge that take around 10-15 minutes. The second stage takes place after the Mongols clear out the bridges and breach the city walls and takes around 15 minutes. The final stage which can take an hour and a half to two hours is Mongol intrusion into the city as the Persians scramble to defend different parts of the city. Copy the screen shot's unit numbers, types, positions, sizes, orientations, etc. to properly recreate the battle.

Some Highlights-

D-day invasion of France (15 minutes/Custom units)
The battle, pitting the German defenders with howitzers (custom) and machine guns (check custom section for details) defends against American forces reinforced by tanks, has three stages and takes 15 minutes in total. The first section American forces, battered by artillery, are forced to take out the machine gun installments to secure the beachhead (lasts about 5 minutes). The second section consists of American forces taking out artillery installments while German forces arrive to counter (about 5 minutes long). The third section consist of American forces pushing inland to destroy remaining German forces (5 + minutes long). A German division with tanks arriving in the north makes the northern flank difficult for american forces however. See picture for reference.
Some screenshots of the battle-
WW2 Mountain Warfare (Custom units/ 30 minutes long)
This scenario pits American forces backed up by some tanks and artillery (custom unit) attempting to breach German defenses entrenched in the mountain ranges on the sides with artillery batteries, as well as fortified defenses in the valley. The battle begins with the American forces divided into three groups, each attacking different section of the German defenses, ultimately though German artillery causes heavy casualties, American forces manage to take out the artillery batteries (~5 minutes). As american forces push through the valley German reinforcements continue to try and stop the advance but fail to strop American forces (5-8 minutes). Finally American forces converge on attacking the town at the bottom of the valley as the last German batteries and battalions defend the town.
*Note* unit placement is important and misplacing units will change how the battle unfolds.

*For the harder to see units*
-The flamethrower tanks are positioned just above the right and left American groups
- in front of the middle american group are the Sherman tanks while the artillery units are located behind the middle group.
-The non fortified German machine gun units and the 25,000 German soldier units are layered on top of each other in the village at the bottom of the valley.

WW1 Trench Warfare (custom units/ 25 minutes)
This battle pits Allied forces that are trying to push into German fortified trenches and ultimately take the main hill in the center of the map. The Allied forces backed by tank and artillery (the new artillery units) make a push for the first line of trenches in order to gain a foothold but come under heavy artillery fire (6 minutes). As the first allied forces gain a foothold in the German trenches additional German and Allied forces continue to pour in as both sides vie for control of the trenches (7 minutes). Finally as Allied forces break through German lines and surround German units, they converge on the hillside protected by a final German garrison and fortified machine gun entrenchments (10-12 minutes).

*notes*
-Artillery units will be eliminated fairly quickly by stray bullets and the custom unit editor, for some reason, broke custom artillery units, not allowing me to add any extra health. I decided use the standard models anyways because of aesthetic reasons.

-Artillery placement is especially important due to line of sight, and for balancing the outcome of the battle

-Hard to see units
-The thin yellow line at the bottom right is 20 unit allied artillery battalion
-The thin black line at the bottom right is the 35 unit allied artillery battalion

Custom Units
The Idea for these units as well as some of their values were derived from the special tank classes guide by CalicoreGaming (link: https://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2821654239).
Some of the tanks from that guide were altered for better gameplay on certain maps however.
