We all know that entering the Cheat Code in Devil May Cry 3 SE HD will result to this.

All HD Collection releases have this warning. Unlike the PS2 and the 2006 PC Port, saving and loading is still allowed. (The 2006 PC Port on Steam doesn't have achievements.)

On the title screen, hold L1 + R1 + R2 + L2 + up (d-pad) + left (d-pad) then pull the left stick to the right and rotate it downwards on PlayStation or hold LT + RT + RB + LB + up (d-pad) + left (d-pad) then pull the left stick to the right and rotate it downwards on Xbox.

So I was thinking... how would I implement the cheat for the 2018 HD PC version? The answer is, hex editing!

net. It's not that hard."
I know but maybe there are some people who doesn't wanna play on a save file that has SS on all ranks or all Missions and Weapons are unlocked and Styles are maxed out.

"But they can just create from a New Game and overwrite the slot that has progress."

Well that can be true but maybe there's someone out there who has gone halfway Normal mode and has limited time to play. Using other's save file could overwrite their clean progress and might have to start all over again.

Anyways, time for the tutorial.

1. Create a clean save file first of your DMC3 HD (after cutscenes, save at Mission 1) then exit the game. If you already have a long progress, it's okay.
   
   
2. Locate your save file directory
   
   Steam: %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Steam\userdata\<Your_Steam_Account_ID>\631510\remote GOG: %LocalAppData%/GOG.com/Galaxy/Applications/58418848926304357/Storage/Shared/Files
   which will show the "dmc3.sav". Before you proceed, it is important to BACKUP your save file.
   
   
3. Open your "dmc3.sav" with hex editor (any would work but I used HxD) then starting from Offset 0x08 to 0x17, change the values to FF then click Save. If your hex editor automatically created a .bak file, kindly move it to another location.
   
   
   
4. Open DMC3 game again and you'll see Vergil will be unlocked, along with the other difficulties, skins, clear art bonuses and more. You will still be able to get Steam achievements from it.
   Buttons are different because of the mod.

You can now go YOLO and suffer in Dante Must Die (DMD) mode. 🤣

If you need a video tutorial, I'll leave this here. Kindly ignore the values that I put in the video since I discovered that Clear Art Bonuses weren't unlocked, so follow the one above.

Surprisingly, this method works for the Nintendo Switch version but not for PS3 and Xbox 360 version.

After some trial and error, I listed offsets that affect the save file. Here's what I listed so far.
