Finding the right system
Firstly you need to go to the galaxy map and find a system that is labelled "Dissonant." It should be under the system title, next to the distance the system is from you, and the star type. Most systems are labelled "Water", but if you look around enough you should find a Dissonant one. Warp to it once you find it.
Finding the correct planet
Once you've arrived in the Dissonant system, you'll need to scan the planets and find one that has its' sentinel level at "Corrupted". Only on planets with Corrupted Sentinels*** will you find Sentinel ships and the items required to find and use them
***NOTE:*** As of the recent Mac update released at the start of June 2023, the Corrupted Sentinals tag was changed to Dissonance Detected.

Gathering required materials
Radiant Crystals
Once you land on the planet, you'll notice there's a lot of pink crystals around you. That means you've got the right planet. The next step now is to gather materials that you'll need to use the ship, the first of which is Radiant Crystals. You can find them with the Analysis Visor, where they look like this.

and visually they will look like this

You need to mine 3 of these with your mining laser. You need 3 for each ship, so if you're looking for multiple ships, get more

Echo Locator and Inverted Mirror
The next items you need are Echo Locators and Inverted Mirrors, which you can get from Dissonance Resonators. These appear on the Analysis Visor, just like Radiant Crystals.

Note that these things are few and far between, so you'll have to look around for a little bit. You need to find multiple, the reason for this is that you need an Echo Locator and an Inverted Mirror. They are both drops from destroying the Dissonance Resonators, and are random. Some will drop Locators, others will drop Mirrors.

Most markers will only have 1 spawn, but I got lucky and found 2 of them on 1 marker which gave me both of the items needed. You will need to destroy them with a multi tool weapon such as the Boltcaster or Pulse Splitter. They will then drop the items. This will attract the Corrupted Sentinels, which are very different from regular ones. Run away and lose them before continuing

Make an inventory check! At this point you should have at least:
3x Radiant Shards
1x Echo Locator
1x Inverted Mirror

Finding an Abandoned Camp
The next step is to find an abandoned camp with the Echo Locator we found earlier Go to the Echo Locator in your Inventory and Hold E (X button for Xbox) to "resonate' with it. This will give you the location of the camp. Call in your ship and fly to it. (Note, if you're getting an error saying locational interference, then the planet you're on has no Abandoned Camps. You'll need to find a different Dissonant System with a Corrupted Sentinels planet, and try there)

Obtaining the new Multitool, locating the ship, and... math???
Once you arrive at the camp, you'll be able to see a terminal and a Multitool in a rack off to the distance that can't be opened yet. You'll need to use the terminal to unlock it and also to locate the ship you're looking for.

Once you've accessed the terminal, select Scan Memory Archives. As strange as this sounds, this will give you math... yes, I'm serious.

They will be 3 simple equations of addition and/or subtraction you need to solve. Take note of the answers to your equations, you'll need them. Let's work mine out
2+4=6
5+4=9
6+3=9

Once you've taken note, Select Access main interface and then Input Override glyphs. You'll need to insert 3 glyphs. This is where those answers from your equations come into play. Whatever number the answers were are the glyph numbers you need to insert. So since my answers were 6, 9 and 9, I need to input the glyphs Six, Nine and Nine.

If you have inputted the correct Glyphs, the interface will change, and you'll be presented with 3 options. If not, check your glyphs, make sure they match up with the correct equation answers
You can now get the new sentinel mulitool. Select Deactivate Mulitool Seal and then you'll be able to access the multitool you saw earlier (If you don't want the Multitool, disregard this part and instead Select Locate Dissonance Spikes, which gives you the location of the Sentinel ship, then skip to the "Making the Ship Operational" section of this guide)
You'll be able to take free of charge. DO NOT SELECT EXCHANGE, YOU WILL LOSE YOUR CURRENT MULTITOOL. YOU MUST SELECT "TAKE MULTITOOL"
These Multitools are one of a kind. They look cool and the one i found had a really cool red laser. And as far as my knowledge goes, as of April 2023, these camps are the ONLY way to get these new multitools. Please notify me in comments if you discover an alternative way.
Taking this new one will equip it, but if you don't want to use it right now, you can open your quick menu, go to Utilities, and change multitool

Now you can go back to the terminal. This time you'll select Locate Dissonance Spikes. This will give you the location of the Sentinel ship. Get in your ship and fly to it
Making the Ship Operational
Once you land at the marker that the camp gave you, you should see a Ship crashed on the ground. This is the ship you've been looking for. Access it and take the Pugneum, Salvaged Glass and Hyaline brain, and place it into your inventory.
If you're not happy with the ship class or the appearance of the ship, then I'm afraid you'll have to find a different Dissonant System with a Corrupted Sentinel planet. I looked at 3 ships on the same planet and they were all the same class and appearance, so most likely there is only one type per planet/system
You'll need to craft a Pilot Interface to use the ship. Thankfully if you followed the Gathering Required Materials section, you should have 2 of the 3 required items; 3 Radiant Shard and 1 Inverted Mirror. If not, go back to that section which explains how to obtain them
This is the final step. To get a Harmonic Brain, you need to go into your inventory and go to the Hyaline Brain you just collected. (Note; You can also get Hyaline Brains from destroying Sentinel Interceptors in space combat)
Hold your use button to Probe Subconscious. If nothing happens, then you either haven't taken the 3 item out of the ship, or don't have an Inverted Mirror. You need to take the Pugneum, Salvaged Glass and Hyaline Brain out of the ship first and have an Inverted Mirror in your inventory to be able to Probe Subconscious
If it works, it will give you the location of an Ancient Site. Go to it. (Note; Extra optional step here, place a navigation beacon next to the crashed ship with the Analysis Visor. You'll have a quest in your log that will have a marker on the ship, but do this just to be on the safe side)
Once arriving, you'll find a large Structure sticking out of the ground with Knowledge stones around it. Access the structure and select Present brain.
This will give you a Harmonic Brain; the last required item to craft the Pilot Interface
Fly back to the crashed ship, access it and you should be able to craft the Pilot Interface from there
These ships have a large cargo hold and lots of technology slots, so they're very good ships AGAIN, JUST LIKE WITH THE MULTITOOL, SELECT CLAIM SHIP, NOT SWAP SHIP. THE LATTER OPTION WILL REVOKE YOUR ACCESS TO YOUR CURRENT SHIP
Transfer any cargo from your current ship (if you want to, not required) and claim the ship. If you have less than 12 ships in your current fleet, you'll be able to claim it with no repercussions. However, if you have 12 ships, you'll have to swap one out for the Sentinel Ship.

Congrats! You now have a Sentinel Ship
Extra Notes and Closing
Some extra notes about these ships

Cannons: The cannons on the ships seem to be effective at both Shield Damage and Physical Damage, and overheat slowly
Animations: The ships have special animations. In first person cockpit entry, the canopy closes around them which seems to be covered in Circuitry, before clearing out and giving a holographic view of the outside. In third person, the 'wings' on these ships seem to extend and retract on takeoff and landing, like Solar Ships

Selling Price: These ships give a ridiculous amount of units for scrapping them at space stations. So if you need some extra units, you can scrap these ships for quite a lot. The one I showed within this guide was worth 54 Million
Ship items: Most of the ship's tech, such as launch thrusters, hyperdrive, shield and pulse engine can be charged with Radiant shards. The launch thruster can also be charged with Pugneum

And that's about everything you need to know about Sentinel ships and how to get them. Thanks for reading and I hope this guide helped you! Peace out, have a great day.

Got my ship as an a class. try to stay in the air when locator hunting, it gives you momentum and speed, and i got 10 locators in 30 minutes. Having a dissonant and atmosphere-less planet allows you to farm very quickly. if you are running out of nearby resonators, get i your ship and fly slow and close to the ground until one pops up on your compass or you see on, then just start farming. DO NOT SHOOT THE RESONATORS FROM YOUR SHIP. BAD IDEA.

Nice tips, I think I should try it. Thanks!

dissonant terraforming catastrophe planet, a square km probably has 5-19 radiant shards across the entire planet. build yourself a base with refiners (10 shards = 500 nanites). being a dissonant system theres a sentinel ship and lots of sentinel towers on adjacent planets

You can also get the coordinates to a crashed sentinel fighter if you engage and defeat a sentinel dreadnought in space, which is how I found out about it.

Your ship in the video is very beautiful, I recovered a level A but in compact version with the wings glued to the fuselage, and just a small deployment animation, much less beautiful than yours.

from my experience, once you have the harmonic brain you can use it on ANY crashed ship, so if you dont like the model layout, save the brain for when you find one you want, recommend abandoning the side quest.

Apparently the Mac update changed the Corrupted Sentinals tag to Dissonance Detected, so I'm notifying here and also updating the guide

Great guide. Thank You.

Once I had the ship, I was finding some more of those abandoned units - that you can give living fragments to - and one of them gave me 10 inverted mirrors as a reward.
