Honestly, it's not even that complex to beat this level, having a specific setup is unnecessary. I've found that the spiders from the pods generally can't catch you if you're boosting, and most tracks have a route you can take that lets you stay on boost for the entire race - it's... a bit hard to explain how but basically just focus on hitting breakable props and sustaining drifts as much as possible over running an optimal racing line. Spiderspout Hollows has crystal patches but it's hard to reach them so don't worry about mowing the weeds beforehand. If you do run out of boost by the time you reach the spider pods, you can use the EMP shield powerup to block the spiders instead.

I beat this with an LR1 Rocket Racer custom car for both on road and off road.
