You might get a window to pop up and then dissappear when trying to run the game on linux.

When you launch the game, when the EA Play window appears, make sure to click something else so that it goes to the background. For some reason doing this makes the game work. I don't know how, I don't know why. It just does.

Now if you have a modern Intel CPU (think it was 10th generation and beyond), your game might not find any servers on the bottom left corner.
To fix this, add this to the launch commands of the game:
OPENSSL_ia32cap=~0x20000000 %command%

It should be able to find you games with no biggie.

So apparently the EA Play overlay is also a good source for low FPS, I am not sure if it's placebo or not but I did notice slightly better frames after disabling it.

To do so you'd have to go to:
steamapps/compatdata/1237970/pfx/drive_c/Program Files/Electronic Arts/EA Desktop/

And remove the following files:
IGO32.dll
IGO64.dll

Be sure to make a backup in case something gets fudgey

If you want to play the game on borderless windows, you can add this:
-noborder -windowed
