The Nomai had controls that could turn off a loops, so Daz was likely unpaired after a test or two.
Also worth noting they didn't have a supernova's power, so the test probably only sent info back about a second (see how long the inverse delay is when you maximize power in the HEL), if they were testing that at all.
It seems to me they were just proving it was able to pair and record, not the transmission step.
Clunky option : see OP
Marginally cleaner option : see OP
“ This theory still requires that
“the conscious version of her at the Eye doesn't hold the moon in place ”
We are transported along with quantum objects when:
1) we are standing on them;
2) we turn all the lights off.
So, when we aren’t observing them visually , as apparently, touching, hearing, etc. do not “count” as observation by the game’s logic.
Simple option: Solenum is blind .
“ either Nomai have very long lifespans or time passes differently at the Eye ”
Time only passes for Solenum when the moon is observed. Once the Nomai died, the moon’s unobserved until the Hearthians looked at it/a photo of it, so her dead bodies on five locations only aged in small spurts at those moments. Her “alive” self at the sixth location only aged while observed by an outsider…
Hatchling’s memories are/aren’t being sent back. They’re quantum memories. As we know, quantum uncertainty possibilities collapse and become certain when they are observed.
Thus, in “loops” where the ATP is shut down and Hatchling’s memories are sent back (i.e., all of them that we observe, because we don’t see loops where the ATP is shut down and the memories aren’t sent back),
they are sent back because the quantum uncertainty is collapsed by being observed…
… observed by the player .
The ship's log is actually also explained in-game! Optional dialogue in the intro reveals that, much like Little Scout's warp retrieval capability, the ship's log was built using salvaged pieces of Nomai technology: specifically, a piece from one of the Nomai statues. Because of this, the ship's log also receives its memory data from the ATP each loop! The ship's log assistance is as canon as the rest of it!!
