Introduction

This guide is a work in progress. If you still need guidance, try asking in the Discussion section.

So you've installed Anarchy Arcade, loaded up your apartment, saw a bunch of your Steam games, and have no idea what to do next. You've come to the right guide!

Anarchy Arcade is designed to be used as a 3D desktop. The idea is you leave it open all day, and when ever you would normally put a shortcut on your desktop, you put it in your 3D Anarchy Arcade desktop instead.

3D Shortcuts

Each item you see in Anarchy Arcade is actually a shortcut to either a file on your PC, or on the internet.

These shortcuts are a little different than the ones on your desktop though. They start off as empty 3D arcade cabinets. What you do is assign a media item to the 3D shortcut, and then it comes to life with screenshots, boxart, video trailers, and more.

So each 3D shortcut has a both a 3D cabinet model and a media item associated with them.

Library Browser

Your Library Browser is what comes up when you middle click on an empty spot. It contains profiles for all of the different media items you have created shortcuts to in the past. If you're looking for something that you've used before in AArcade, the Library Browser is where you want to look.

At the top of the Library Browser window, you'll see filter settings. They are a little confusing at first, but are very useful once you get the hang of them. You set the "Filter" to the field you want to filter with, and then you set the box on the other side of the "=" sign to what to filter that field for.

For example, if you change it from "type = <any>" to "type = movies", only movies will show up in the Library Browser's search results.

Nearer the bottom of the Library Browser is a Search box where you can type in anything you want to search for.

At the very bottom there is a yellow Browse box that you can use to either choose new files from your PC to import as shortcuts, or you can copy & paste internet URLs into the yellow box to spawn websites.

Internet Databases

Remember how I said each item's profile contains screenshots, boxart, and trailer URLs? Well, those all come from the internet. You can either go grab the URLs yourself and customize your items by hand, or you can match one of your shortcuts to a media item on an online website to automatically import the images and videos from there.

The first time you import a new item that is a movie, game, or TV show, Anarchy Arcade will automatically try to find a match for it's filename on a related internet database.

Not only do the internet databases make it easy to make your shortcuts pretty, they also let you spawn NEW items right from the web that you didn't have in your library before.

If you press the "i" button to open the Internet Databases screen, you will see a list of websites that are currently supported. Just click on the website that interests you, load up the profile page of an item you'd like to spawn fro it, and click the Spawn Now button! The item will imported into your Library Browser and spawned as a 3D shortcut with all of it's images and stuff automatically applied to it.

Conclusion

Now that you understand the structure of Anarchy Arcade and how it works, you're ready to learn how to do specific tasks within the game.

Just press F1 while walking around in the 3D world to access the short & easy video tutorials. They will give you step-by-step instructions on how to do many of the routine tasks in Anarchy Arcade.

I really need help. How do you set a trailer for a cabnet from your files instead of online. Also how do you choose the model of the cabnet?

In the beginner's tutorial, at the 4th room, I have to click the play button on the green panel, on the left side of the virtual screen. But when I do, I see an Explorer logo image display on screen. Underneath that image reads:
File is missing
asset://webui/learn3.html.
Below that there are two buttons which I have the option to press. Either:
I have this, or I don't have this,
BROWSE DOWNLOAD

Neither of these options find a solution.
Browsing: Pulls up my saved documents tab on My Computer.
Download: Pulls up an interface with 3 options.
Option 1) Amazon: Suggesting that I buy a copy of program the file would be in. YEAH RIGHT!
Option 2) Netflix: Yes the actually streaming site! I have no idea how this was supposed to help.
Option 3) Steam: Search Steam for a free copy of the program. Steam couldn't find one.

Can someone help me?
When i choose my Cabinet and scroll the mouse wheel to change it,it turns into a giant board with huge pixels of what the item is showed on there.
Pls help ;w;
