That's how sequels should be made!
Do you remember the days when projects with risky ideas and unusual game design received sequels that brought all the concepts to mind and became a cultural phenomenon? We immediately recall Mass Effect 2, Assassin's Creed 2, Resident Evil 2, Crysis 2, Twisted Metal 2, Borderlands 2 and Fallout 2. It's hard to believe, but Remnant 2 has also become such a game. The developers abandoned the modern approach to creating the second part by improving the graphics with a pile of content in favor of proven gameplay — and really did a tremendous job on the bugs. You can feel it literally from the first hours of the gameplay.
The original Remnant: From The Ashes was remembered by players as "Dark Souls with guns". At the same time, she was not an unprincipled soulslike tracing paper, of which there were countless on Steam. The first Remnant has a thoughtful game design, procedurally generated locations, an exciting cooperative and a relatively good plot. Fans of the genre loved the original with all their hearts and called it an excellent alternative to FromSoftware games.
At the same time, the first part has a number of disadvantages: not the most pleasant graphics, empty and monotonous locations, as well as the most boring intermediate bosses. The sequel to Remnant can be called a work on mistakes. The shooting has become more responsive, and the battles have become more dynamic and smooth. The pool and variety of opponents have increased. For the sake of complexity and replayability, the developers optimized the grind and reduced the frequency of cool items falling out. Bosses are now not just sponges for absorbing damage, but enemies thought out to the smallest detail with unique patterns of behavior, as in a good soulslike. Procedurally generated locations are no longer boxes with corridors. Now each level gives a sense of novelty and handmade level designer.
The Remnant sequel masterfully combines the best features of soulslake, roguelike and cooperative shooter.

Gameplay and mechanics
1. A rather modest customization of characters.
2. In the sequel, the level of directing has noticeably increased.
3. In the company of friends (up to three people), the game instantly transforms into a good alternative to Outriders and Destiny. Thanks to the thoughtful generation of levels, each loot outing becomes unique. And it will not just be a substitution of a couple of passages in a certain place, as in Dark tide, but a full-fledged location with new bosses, opponents, loot locations and so on. Remnant 2 opens up space for replayability, generating unique content for both single and multiplayer modes. Do you want to replay the game with new locations, puzzles and previously unseen secrets without buying DLC? Yes, no problem. Just restart the campaign.
