You may encounter issues that are not listed here because every system is different and this game just goes crazy with modern PC's, but I encourage yo to use the Ready2Play version you won't have any problem, that one works really good.

The only great thing of the DOS version it's that being emulated allows you to create save states of your game and load them later, but that version could give you some strange visual bugs and fps drops. So you just may need to tweak and try a little bit for the one which works the best for you.

Last but not least, enjoy your game!
Summary
First things first, you'll need some patience for making this game works smoothly, it's not complicated just follow the instructions and you'll be done in no time.

I want to thank the user Toshiba-3 as he's the one who packed the DOS emulated version back in 2016 and also to LuKeStorm for making the Ready2Play version which I personally love, their work is brilliant huge shout out to them :D
(Ready2Play + Widescreen) Version
The steps are pretty simple, you'll have to download some software and don't worry of its security it's completely risk free. Made by the community for the community.
Before you start, just in case you tried other methods to make the game work I'd say you preferably had a clean install of the game before you start.
1. First you will need to download the R2P patch from here[gtaforums.com]
2. You now have a .zip file just extract it with the program of your like, once extracted you'll have a new folder like this:
3. Go inside that folder and run the program called GTA - Launcher, it has a GTA icon, the you will have a window and the only thing you have to do is click yes
And as simple as that you will have your game patched and what's even better with a fix for widescreens, also you can run it windowed or borderless with just a few clicks in the launcher.
DOS Emulated Version
1. Download the Grand Theft Auto: Max Pack by Toshiba-3 from here[gtaforums.com].
2. Once you have downloaded the .zip file extract it with any program of your like. I use WinRAR. You'll have a bunch of files there.
3. Select all those extracted files and copy or cut them, and go to the game directory, if you don't remember where you installed it you can by right-click the game in your library then hitting Manage->Browse local files an there you go.
4. Once you're on the directory of the game you have to paste the files inside the WINO folder, if a window prompts you have to click on replace all.
And that'll be everything now you can relax and play this jewel from the past, also if you're into it you can config more things, just check out the Toshiba-3 post with the link of the first step. I'll leave a screenshot of the main screen just for you to see how it looks and the game's artwork too, it's pretty awesome.

If I use R2P version, is there a way to play 8-bit version or it is only for DOS?
