Disable UAC on Windows 7
  • Type UAC into the start menu or Control Panel search box.
  • Press Enter
  • Drag the slider all the way down to the bottom to disable it entirely
Change Steam Compatibility
  • Type Steam into the start menu or Control Panel search box.
  • Right click on the program's shortcut
  • Click on the Compatibility tab
  • In Compatibility mode select: Windows XP (Service Pack 3)
  • Also check the box on Privilege Level: [ v ] Run this program as administrator
