How to add Black Mesa: Blue Shift to your library
By QuietWhyit
If you've downloaded the Blue Shift mod by HECU Collective, you've likely noticed how you have to launch it via your desktop or a launch command. This is because BMBS runs off a batch file (.bat) and you can usually only add .exe files to your steam library via the "Add a non-steam game". However there's an easy method you can use to add the mod to your library!

(This method should work with any mod that runs off a batch file, this guide is just specifically for Blue Shift)

Adding the Mod to your Library
Once you have the mod installed (I'll skip the install steps because I'm assuming you've already done that if you're reading this guide.)

Open your Black Mesa Folder

Hold down shift and right click the file titled 'bshift'

Select Copy as Path

Now, go to your library, and select Add a non-steam game from the 'Add a Game' menu.

Select ANY .exe file. Add it to your library.

Now, right click the newly added file in your library, select properties.

Paste the the path into both the Target and Start in sections

Then, rename and customize as you please! The mod should launch when you click play, and now you can play BM and BMBS as two seperate games!

Keep in mind, you're going to have to repeat this process every time the mod updates/you reinstall it.

That's all! Hope this was helpful.

from the game page in your library, you can go to settings and properties, then next to where you can name the game, you can change the icon. I think the mod comes with an image file for the icon but if i'm wrong try this image [cdn2.steamgriddb.com]
