To fill up his Friendship scale, spend time together, trust Johnny, don’t lie to him – and don’t try to change him.

It is possible without friendship as such.
Spend time together, flirt whenever given a chance, kiss Johnny, etc. If you persist in playing hard to get, he will eventually lose interest.


If you break up with Johnny, you two will remain friends as long as you were friends already prior to – and if you yourself do not refuse the chance to stay friends.

These are the easiest to provoke and foster if Johnny ends up blasting the farm despite all the talks and persuasion (to arrive at this outcome, pick the character with whom your relationship is at the lowest possible point as a proxy for your persuasion efforts).



This affects:

• The option to sleep with Johnny while, at the same time, you’ve recently agreed to go on a date with Roy
  
• Chances of Chloe dying
  
• Chances of Tien dying
  
• Chances of Fabricio “going missing”
  
• Johnny’s style of communication (he gets more edgy as the demons take over)

To end up as soulmates with him, agree to talk to Johnny after Key Kott – given that his Friendship scale is completely maxed out.
(And don’t tell him you’re in love with him if you’re in a relationship with him at that point.)

To unlock the “Kind Of Magic” achievement, bring Johnny you have a romance with to the police station when you set off from the forest – and don’t sleep with Roy.
To make this work, you have to meet at least one of the following extra conditions:

1. Tien blasts the farm
   
2. Johnny’s Friendship scale is maxed out
   
3. His Inner Demons scale is maxed out

In case you’re looking for a threeway (there’s a chance of that with Johnny and Tony), get into relationships with both of them; don’t bring Johnny with you to the police station from the forest; and make sure at least one of these extra conditions are met:

1. Tien blasts the farm
   
2. Johnny’s Inner Demons scale is maxed out

If you want to be just dating Johnny by the end of the game (which is not the true love option but still a neutral good finale), get into a relationship with him and don’t sleep with Roy. You must also meet at least one of the following extra conditions:

1. Tien blasts the farm
   
2. Johnny’s Inner Demons scale is maxed out

In the beginning, don’t overwhelm Tony with too much detail about your own trials and tribulations; just hang out and enjoy chatting with him.
As you progress through the game, don’t belittle things that are important to him. Make sure to keep spending time with Tony.

It is impossible without the foundation of friendship.
You should visit the police station during the third bus stopover and already know who Rica is – and make the right choice at the station based on this knowledge. Tony will soon bring up his feelings for you, and if you reciprocate, your romance will begin.

Tony doesn’t care if you are also seeing someone else at the same time (but that other third party may well care).
If you break up with Tony, you two will remain friends.

Find out who Rica is – and act accordingly. Don’t hesitate to ask Tony for help when you need it.
This affects:

• Tony’s ability to use his spectacular powers as the Chosen One (including in Key Kott)
  
• His overall state and the options of romance with him

To end up exclusive with Tony, begin a romance with him only – or break up with anyone else when faced with this choice (however, it’s not going to work if you’ve already met all the conditions for a threeway).

In case you’re looking for a threeway, (there’s a chance of that with Johnny and Tony), see Johnny’s section.

Tony ends up in the hospital (which is not exactly the best ending overall) if you: find out who Rica is; take certain actions based on your knowledge; ask Tony for help in Key Kott; and respond to his questions with prejudice.

Talk to Roy and hang out with him, but don’t tell him you want nothing to do with him (or make sure to take it back on time).

1. Given a well-established friendship with Roy and no romance with Johnny (that Roy knows of, that is), Roy will try holding your hand. It’s your cue to reciprocate.
   
2. If you’re not friends with Roy, you can bring him the bandana that Fabricio gave you (see Fabricio’s section). Then, you will have a chance to have sex with Roy – and start a romance with him.
   
3. If you ask Roy for help in Key Kott, and Dora then makes a scene about it (for her to react expressly, she and you should be on generally good terms at the time), you may end up having a conversation with Roy later in the forest. He’ll try to explain to you that he never saw you the way that Dora was insinuating. During this conversation, you will get a chance to make a choice that will set off your romance with him.

Roy always makes you choose between him and the other one when he finds out that you are also seeing someone else.
If you break up with Roy, you two will not remain friends.

Don’t let Roy violate your personal boundaries (even if jokingly).
With his Personal Boundaries scale low, the only thing that Roy cares about is himself. He will put on the whole “nice guy” act, saying one thing while doing quite the other, and he’ll be simply unable to comprehend when he’s being wrong.


This affects:

• Chances of bringing Roy to the police station when you head there from the forest (if you haven’t maxed out his Personal Boundaries scale, he won’t join you)
  
• Chances of getting a good romantic ending (unless the scale is maxed out, you can get two different endings, and neither is good)
  
• Roy’s relationships with not just you but other characters, too

To stay exclusive with Roy at the end, either have a romance with him only – or break up with anyone else when faced with an appropriate choice.

To unlock the “Apple Blossom” achievement, have a romance with Roy by first becoming friends with him (taking his hand when there’s a chance to, etc.) – and make sure to max out his Personal Boundaries scale towards the end of the game.

If you simply want to stay together with him, have a romance with Roy without his Friendship scale maxed out – and stand by your choice all the way (with his Personal Boundaries scale maxed out, too).

In case you’re looking for a threeway, do not pick Roy. You can change your mind back and forth a few times throughout the game, but you won’t be able to stay in a relationship with him and someone else at the same time.

To unlock the “Rollercoaster” achievement, you must first get kissing with Johnny without Roy knowing about it; then agree to go on a date with Roy; and then let Johnny blast the farm despite everyone else’s opinion about it.
After that, you should visit Johnny and initiate sex with him. This will lead to Roy and Johnny arguing and falling out because of you. You’ll still get a chance to pick Roy again – as long as you end any relationship with Johnny no later than in the forest and as long as you never have a romance with Tony.

If you want Roy to survive, carry your investigation all the way through and talk to the person in the mirror yourself. For this to work, you don’t need to be in any specific kind of relationship with Roy.

You gain her trust in conversations, one on one or else. The nature of her trust is reciprocal, too, so if you yourself trust her, support her and take an interest in her (say, talk feelings to her during the first stopover, join her table for pastries in town, etc.), it’ll pay off.



This affects:

• Dialogues with Tien
  
• Chances of convincing Tien to change her mind at the farm (you won’t be able to do it if she hardly trusts you)

If Tien decides to blast the farm herself, she will get a unique ending.
To ensure this, you need to convince Johnny to change his mind by using the story from five years ago – and then following up with a point regarding Roy.
This option is only available when both of the following conditions are met:

• You have a well-established relationship with Johnny (romantic or not) – but his Friendship scale is not maxed out
  
• With Roy, you’re at least friends

If you want Tien to survive, at least one of the following conditions must be met:

1. She blasts the farm
   
2. Johnny’s Inner Demons scale is not maxed out towards the finale
   
3. You and Johnny have true love towards the finale (regardless of his inner demons)
   
4. Fabricio “goes missing” (see Fabricio’s section)

There is an alternative: if you pick the practitioners’ task in the forest and support Tien emotionally there (given that Tien has not blasted the farm herself – and that Johnny’s Inner Demons scale is maxed out), not only will she survive but she will also bring down Johnny’s Inner Demons scale.

To fill up his Respect scale, do well on scientists’ tasks – or behave in the most logical manner when interacting with Takeo.




This affects:

• The amount of information the doctor shares with you
  
• Takeo’s disposition towards you

If you come closer to figuring out the nature of cracks (which you can if you work on the scientists’ task in the forest), you can get an official offer from Takeo to work with him.


Takeo is affected significantly by Tien’s death, as well as her decision to blast the farm herself.

To fill up her Approval scale, complete Dora’s tasks, don’t be rude to her, and work on your future.




This affects:

• The amount of information she shares with you
  
• The degree of her helicoptering over you

In Dora’s case, the end depends, above all, on the state in which Maximilian, Third, Tony, and you are towards the finale.

You can only earn his approval if you choose not to help anyone with the gear during the second stopover – and pick any dialogue option but the third one in your subsequent conversation with Maximilian.

You will receive his disapproval if you call him a drama queen during the first stopover – or if you choose to help no one with the gear during the second stopover but then pick the third dialogue option when talking to Maximilian afterwards.


Maximilian is significantly affected bythe following:

• Third’s death
  
• Him giving a speech in front of everyone in Key Kott (you can bring Maximilian there upon the very first choice option during the argument, with either his Approval or Disapproval scale maxed out)
  
• You supporting him at the farm

All in all, having any kind of relationship with Maximilian that calls for his explicit disposition towards you is better for him than having none at all.

To fill up his Approval scale, spend time with Third in ways that he himself deems productive (and constructive, yes!).

For example, you can talk to him at the farm; join him in looking for useful things around town; go through the bag with him; call on him for help during the nighttime incident with the bus; join him, Johnny and Roy for pastries in town; volunteer to help either Roy or Johnny with their gear during the second stopover but stay all the way without stepping aside; etc. You don’t have to do all of those, but at least a few.

What this affects:

• Your chances of talking Third into reconsidering his decisions
  
• Chances of a good finale for Third

To fill up his Emotional Instability scale, ask Third questions about his past and build assumptions of how he is still in its grip and has not changed.

This affects:

• Third’s mental state
  
• Chances of him dying (they are higher with the scale maxed out)

Third may perish in Key Kott or end up as a drunk after the expedition. You must interact with him if you want him to have a good or at least a neutral ending (see “Approval”).

To fill up her Approval scale, impress Chloe with your performance or actions (e.g., when doing tasks for practitioners, during the argument between Maximilian and Third at the first stopover, during the nighttime bus incident, etc.).

This affects: the way Chloe behaves towards you.


Chloe may perish in Key Kott, and you need to meet at least one of the following conditions to prevent it from happening:

1. Johnny’s Inner Demons scale not maxed out (see Johnny’s section)
   
2. Roy helping you while his Personal Boundaries scale is maxed out (see Roy’s section)
   
3. Roy helping you and being your love interest
   
4. Tony helping you (see Tony’s “Self-awareness” section)
   
5. Fabricio helping you (see Fabricio’s section)

TW: Perhaps Fabricio is someone you’d be better off having a neutral relationship with (and if this falls through, then at least keep any contact with him down to its bare minimum). In many cases, he may behave in an extremely unethical manner towards you.






To fill up his Approval scale, impress Fabricio during the practitioners’ first task – or trust him.
This affects: his behaviour towards you (including possible sexual harassment).
You can obtain the bandana from Fabricio if you ask for his help in Key Kott – with his disposition towards you neutral or positive.

To fill up his Disapproval scale, choose against Chloe being an offender during the practitioners’ second task.
This affects: his behaviour towards you. If you ask Fabricio for help in Key Kott with his Disapproval scale maxed out at the time, you risk ending up traumatised by the conversation with him (you will be able to leave halfway, but if you prefer to avoid an unpleasant situation, maybe consider choosing against this option altogether).


Fabricio may go missing for good, but there are ways to prevent this:
Do not ask for his help in Key Kott with his Disapproval scale maxed out.
Now, if you have already done so, do not tell Johnny about what happened – with Johnny’s Inner Demons scale maxed out.

Fabricio can help with your murder investigation ifyou visit the police station for the second time and agree to the deal he offers you there (as long as he’s not missing, of course). This option is not available if you ask Fabricio for help in Key Kott with his Disapproval scale maxed out – or if he gets fired from the expedition because of you (and he knows it).

To survive the finale, you must carry your murder investigation all the way through, such as: visit Suz the first or the second time you get a chance to; visit the police station and Serena’s flat; and talk to the main antagonist yourself.

(these are a few alternatives, but there are more combinations overall)
