The thing
Well, this is a forgotten game buried by time, but people like me every now and then come along and discover that the game has some kind of resolution limitation based on the available video memory.

The game will not accept resolutions above HD. And one of the only solutions to this problem seems to be an .exe file that has been floating around for years, in old and somewhat suspicious links.

Some people accused the fix of being a virus, even if they provided no proof. But as i don't have the habit of downloading files without much validated credibility, i decided to dig through the forum entries here and found the following solution, safer and more appropriate, directly modifying the game's configuration files:

1- Open the game, set the graphics settings you want and select the game to run in windowed mode. Then close the game.

2- Search in the default user documents folder in Windows for the My Games folder. Then for the OFDR folder and then for the hardwaresettings folder.

Here the path is as follows:

C\Users\#\Documents\My Games\OFDR\hardwaresettings

# = Being the user name.

3- You will then open the hardware_settings_config configuration file with a notepad.

Inside this file will be your resolution settings.

Modify the height and width as you wish, make sure the fullscreen option is set to "false" and save the configuration.

To be on the safe side, select the file you just modified by right clicking, properties and setting it to "read only".

4- Start the game, press Alt+Enter and that's it.

If everything goes well, the game will run at the written resolution.

I only tested it at 1080p, so I'm not sure it's a universal solution.

As there isn't much support or information about the game produced by the community (practically non-existent), i decided to add this solution to our small collection, in case any unsuspecting people show up.

But it worked for me. It should work for you.

Enjoy.

Edit: If you have Racedriver Grid, this method works too (And you don't have to do the alt+enter thing).

Thank you! It works like a charm. Any resolution will do, but I think 1080p is at least an acceptable resolution since the game doesn't support UI scale. I tried it in 4K and it makes sense why the devs limited it to 720p.
