Basic Commands
Each of these commands needs to be followed by one of the four letter game codes listed below:

HELP-: lists all of these commands as applied to the named game.

LIST-: lists the four digit codes of all games starting at the named one. You can also enter a four digit number to start from that game number, eg LIST-0000 to start at the beginning. You can enter numbers higher than 51, but all slots will be empty.

INFO-, DESC-, HIST-: displays one of the information pages for the named game. These can be viewed in the game details window on the main menu.

EXEC-: runs the named game just as if you had chosen it from the menu.

COPY-, NAME-, MOVE-, EDIT-: are accepted, but appear as "disabled". These are likely out of scope of the game and cannot be enabled.
Game Selection Codes
Each of the 50 games, plus the main menu and the secret game, is identified at the terminal by a four-letter code. This is displayed on the Terminal screen whenever Terminal is opened during the game. The codes are:

Attactics ARMY Avianos BIRD Barbuta TRAP Big Bell Race UFOP Rock On! Island DINO Block Koala BLOK Bug Hunter BUGS Bushido Ball BUSH Camouflage CAMO Campanella UFO1 Campanella 2 UFO2 Campanella 3 UFO3 Caramel Caramel PHOT Contenders ANTW Cyber Owls WNST Divers DIVE Divilition DIAB Elfazar’s Hat ELFA Fist Hell FIST Golfaria GOLF Grimstone BRIM Hot Foot HOTF Hyper Contender PLAT Kick Club DALL Lords o’Diskonia DISK Magic Garden CUTE Mini & Max INFI Mooncat BAR2 Mortol SAC1 Mortol 2 SAC2 Night Manor NIGH Ninpek NINJ Onion Delivery SHAD Overbold OVER Paint Chase PCHA Party House PART Pilot Quest ZOL2 Pingolf PING Porgy SUBH Planet Zoldath ZOLD Quibble Race QUIB Rail Heist TRAI Rakshasa RAKS Seaside Drive SEAS Star Waspir VERT Vainger GRAV Valbrace DUNS Velgress FRAG Waldorf’s Journey WALH Warptank WARP (main menu) MAIN (hidden game) MIAS
Treasure Hunt
The Terminal Treasure Hunt is a meta-quest that covers all 50 games and gives incremental access to an additional hidden game.

Looking at the information page for Night Manor will tell you that it is the "first game directed by longtime designer Greg-milk." Entering GREG-MILK at the terminal will show a distinctive arrow icon (which you may have seen in the Terminal before) and a binary map that corresponds to the game selection menu. There is a single "1" in the map, which matches the game Mini & Max.

Enter Mini & Max and explore the low level. There is one door which leads to a room that is empty except for the same up arrow sign. In this room, open the Terminal, and you will see the first clue of the treasure hunt.

To complete each clue, you need to enter the correct game, arrange a particular situation in that game, and then open the Terminal. This will give the next clue.

Create a vertical line of three units on the battlefield and open Terminal.
A PURPLE MOON SHINES ON A LONELY KNIGHT

From the start of the game, move one room to the left and open the Ternimal.
(Gives code for first section of hidden game. Find and complete first prototype to continue)
IN THE PRESENCE OF SEABIRD ROYALTY
Waldorf's Journey
Open the Terminal while on the shop screen, which is run by a bird with a crown. (The shop screen must be actually open, it is not enough for the bird to just be on screen.)
A TANK TRAVELS ON TEETH
Warptank
Move the tank to rest on the "teeth" of the face visible in the first level and open the Terminal.
OVERTIME KICKS THE REFEREE INTO ACTION
Kick Club
Run the level timer out so that the referee appears, and open the Terminal.
THE BRIDGE DEMON WILL SEND YOU TO THE SPIRIT WORLD
Rakshasa
Be hit and knocked into the recovery game by the large demon on the first bridge.

A CRESCENT OF SAND SURROUNDS A HOLE
Golfaria
From the start of the game, take the portal to Putterton. Head West out of the starting area through the foliage, then go South at the barrier that blocks the lake. Continue southwest and you will find a crescent of sand. Move the ball onto it then open Terminal.
SHE RATES THE SPACESTATION 3 OUT OF 5 STARS
Campanella 2
Collect stars until your star rating in the top left of the screen is 3 out of 5, then open Terminal. Note, this will require collecting more than 3 physical stars (usually 6) - what matters is your star rating, not the number of stars collected.
(Gives code for third section of hidden game. Find and complete third prototype to continue)
WHEN 90 REMAIN, A SHARPSHOOTER TAKES AIM
Mortol 2
Sacrifice characters until the counter reads 91, then choose a Gunner, so that the Gunner is in play when the counter reads 90, then open Terminal.
POLITE CLAPPING GREETS THE RED BALL'S ARRIVAL
Pingolf
Choose "Red" as your character and complete the first hole. While the completion effects are playing, open Terminal.

Block Koala
Finish the first level, then stand on the grey square where the first gate used to be and open Terminal.

Onion Delivery
Stop the car in the park immediately below the starting point and open Terminal.
WHEN ATTEMPTING TO STEAL, STAND RIGHT NEXT TO A WHEEL
Rail Heist
On the second level, using the character who can break floors, break the bottom floor and stand on the platform across the wheel.
Hidden Metagame
Some clues in the Treasure Hunt will give you a code leading into the hidden meta-game. This provides background on UFO Soft and can be used to find prototype games; in most cases, playing and completing a prototype game is necessary to reveal the next treasure hunt clue.

There are multiple codes to access the meta game; they determine your starting location. Most doors in the meta game are "locked from the other side" and can be unlocked by using a later starting location to spawn on the other side of the door. These are revealed gradually via the treasure hunt:

Start: EXEC-MIAS
2: HIDE-HOLE
3: SOAP-STOP
4: 0229-1988
Prototype Games
These prototype games are accessed via the Treasure Hunt, and most give Treasure Hunt clues when completed.

EXEC-COLO - a version of Paint Chase in which enemies do not paint the level, but kill you on impact. Paint the entire level in time to win.

EXEC-HOVR - a simplified version of Campanella with reduced graphics and only a single room. Also, harder.

EXEC-GODB - a knockback based 2D combat game. Defeat two thugs to win.
Final Section
Once you have completed the treasure hunt and visited all areas of the hidden metagame, you can reach the Boss's Office and leave to the Forever Corridor at the top left of the area.

If you have not found all three prototype disks, the Forever Corridor will be endless. Having played the prototypes by entering their codes is not sufficient - you must have actually gotten the discs inside the metagame.

If you have all three discs, you will only have to walk a short distance before reaching the exit to Roof Access. Once on the Roof, use the helicopter repeatedly until you climb in.

There is one additional code which is obtained only through the metaplot (which involves more than just the hidden game and terminal; it is also spread across the game credits screens, internal secrets, and even the opening pictures). To access this, enter the code STEN-MURZ (the start of the name of one of the UFO-Soft testers) and the following diagram will appear:

...#...... ..#....... .....#.... #.....#... #.......## ??????????

The actual final code constantly varies, and has to be worked out every time using this diagram as a clue. Move to the bottom of the main menu and set the game sort to Random (as indicated by the question marks at the bottom), then examine the eight games that now appear in the menu positions corresponding to the diagram above. Take the first letters of these games' terminal access codes, and enter them as a code in English reading order (left to right, top to bottom).

For example, suppose you sort Random and the games in those slots, in English reading order, are Campanella, Cyber Owls, Planet Zoldath, Ninpek, Barbuta, Golfaria, Divers and Magic Garden. The terminal access codes are UFO1, WNST, ZOLD, NINJ, TRAP, GOLF, DIVE and CUTE. So the code to enter this time is UWZN-TGDC.

This will unlock the final starting location in the hidden game. The contents of that location relate to a game archive collection project that is part of the metaplot. There is currently no evidence that it relates to any further terminal code.
Cheats and Variants
These codes invoke either cheat or variant versions of the built in games. These are unlocked through multiple different methods, including completing the games at different levels and parts of the meta game. Note that not all are cheats - many are variants, and some actually make the games harder. Also, some games have no codes.

I think GOOF-ZOOM increases the maximum distance between locations, so the game is more difficult.
Oxymoronic 19 Apr @ 7:10pm
Not sure about BUMP-MORE, GOOF-ZOOM, and ACES-SHOP. I think ACES-SHOP guarantees three modules that cost 3 or 4 energy cubes, but I'm not certain.
Oxymoronic 19 Apr @ 7:06pm
KIWI-AURA has powerups appear more often in The Great Bell Race. LAZY-COPS is a level select for Rail Heist. ANTS-ANTS lets you pick any level in Combatants. BANK-SHOT gives the player the aiming boost from the scrolls in Lords of Diskonia.
The Nicktendo Nerd 19 Feb @ 10:06am
I think KIWI-AURA spawns you in the front position of the first position rather than the last position?

A few more codes:
LANC-EL0T prints MEOW to terminal.
READ-PGxx (xx = 00 to 15) views a different terminal page.
TGGL-CNFG if using -arcade on the command line, toggles whether the config menu is accessible.
rainwarrior 7 Feb @ 3:22am
Missing code: CHAN-DAR! - Porgy with all items (save disabled).
Rutherford Gaming 22 Jan @ 8:28pm
I tested ANTS-ANTS and it just seems to be a level select that starts from a fresh save and doesn't save progress. Kind of a shame that the most lore relevant game doesn't have any interesting codes. :sadkitty:
travis_touchdown_urethra3000 27 Nov, 2024 @ 6:05pm
you can also write exec-0013 for example to start mooncat or exec-aaa1 to start barbuta but exec-0051 doesnt start miasma tower| idk if this was known
gretgor42 10 Nov, 2024 @ 7:39pm
Great guide! Thank you so much for this.

Question: does the usage of cheat commands preclude us from getting the garden gifts?
hyphz  [author] 18 Oct, 2024 @ 7:16pm
It's a conclusion to the metaplot. It has to end somewhere :)
