Start by going to FC in your steam library and clicking on the controller icon. If you are then greeted by this screen go ahead and disable steam inputs. Alternative methods include opening the game via the EA app, switching to a wired connection or disabling the in game overlay within the EA app. This can be done by pressing on the three lines in the top left > settings > application > disable in game overlay.

If you're having issues when it comes to booting the game, regardless of it's DirectX or an anti-cheat issue this should hopefully help you solve them:
Updating windows
A simple solution but sometimes all it takes. This does not mean you have to update to windows 11 but make sure you're at least using the latest version of windows 10. You can check this by pressing the windows key > settings > update & security.

Updating drivers
Another simple one but make sure your drivers are updated as sometimes this can not only affect your performance in game but can in certain cases also prevent the game from launching.

Repair / verify game files
If you own the game on steam go to your library > right click FC 25 > Properties > Installed files > verify integrity of game files.
The process is slightly different on origin. Start by finding FC 25 in your library > manage > repair
In both instances this will essentially make sure that no game files are missing or corrupt and if they are they will be restored.

EA Anti-cheat repair / reinstall
This can be done by heading to the directory in which EAFC is installed > Steam library > Steam apps > Common > EA SPORTS FC 25 > __Installer > EA anti cheat. From here all you want to do is right click the anti-cheat installer program and run it as administrator, click the drop down menu and select FC 25. You can try to repair the files from there, however if that doesn't work you can also uninstall and reinstall the anti-cheat straight from the launcher.

Conflicting software
With the newer titles EA introduced EAAC (EA anti-cheat) which is very sensitive with what it will and wont let you use. The main cause I've found to be other anti-cheats such as riots Vanguard or Faceit AC.

No matter what system specs you have this game will continually run poorly due to bad optimisation however from my tests I've found these to be the best display configuration settings, for reference I'm running with a 3080TI 12700KF & 16gb DDR4. Sadly despite having a 240hz monitor I would genuinely recommend running the game at 60FPS to reduce choppy gameplay. There may be another workaround for this but so far I'm yet to find it.
Addition settings
Playstyle+ overhead indicators: Off
Hold to skip: Off (Helped with reducing crashes during cut scenes)
Score clock dropdown: Off
Hypermotion insight overlays: Off
Underfoot player highlight: Disabled
Ambient occlusion quality: Low
Cloth quality: Low

A few settings that may help improve stability:
- Updating windows/drivers
- Reinstalling the game on another drive
- Disabling Vsync
- Lowering resolution
- Changing to windowed instead of fullscreen
- Disabling overlays
- Updating settings within windows defender
- Disabling game mode
- Enabling XMP within bios

A few of these are simply personal preference but for the most responsive gameplay I've found these to work well:

Precision pass sensitivity: Normal
Pass receiver lock: Late (Another one that's personal preference however I find it much better to have the option to change the receiver later in case of an opposing player cutting off the initial option.)

Defending
Auto clearances: Off by default
Clearance assistance: Directional
Jockey: Manual by default
Defending: Tactical defending (Can take a little bit to get used to but it works)
Pass block assistance: On

Switching
Auto switching: On air balls and loose balls
Auto switching move assistance: Low
Right stick switching: Classic
Right stick switching reference: Player relative
Right stick switching sensitivity: Any works but I prefer 2
Next player switching: Closest to ball
Reaction time modifier: Off
Reaction time modifier sensitivity: 6
Player lock: On (Up to you if you use it or not but with all FC games it's nice to have when the attacking runs aren't on)
