How to price smart (for the mathematically challenged)

A simple guide to make it easier on yourself to deal with the change and speed things up. Fair warning, it won't net you the best profits, but until you can make it to full self-scan or pay someone else to do it for you, it can make things a lot easier on you.

Intro (nickles and dimes)
For those uninitiated in the ways of retail pricing, the reason why they started doing such idiocy like pricing something as $1.99 is because it makes it feel less expensive than when it would be a straight up $2.00. And in some countries they use this even more to the advantage by not even bothering with the 1 cent and such small denominations.

How is this of any importance?

Because the pricing in the game is based off how it works in the retail, but in the end your customers are NPCs that only check on whether something isn't too expensive, and don't really care in their shopping about whether something looks cheaper than it really is.

So, if you really want to get away from that nickles and dimes work , that's what this guide is about.
Count smarter, not harder
What's that mean? Well, your cash register has the nickle, the dime and the quarter (also 5 cents, but who's counting?). So when you go for pricing and you want to make it easy on yourself, first prices you can easily mark up to a full or half a dollar (50 cents).

And until you unlock fruits that go for 34 cents a piece (and they'll complain about too expensive when you mark it up to 50 cents) you can just make it easy on yourself to run the shop by working with rounded numbers and anything on the 25 cents range.

Like $3 for flour, or $6.50 ($7 works too) for washing powder. Make beer $1.75 and the worst you'll have is to give back change in the range of up to 3 quarters.

As such, don't count harder, but count it smarter. Only 4 quarters in a whole.

K.I.S.S method, round up to the next nearest 0.25 or 0.50 over Treat $X.99 or $X.49 as $X.00 or $X.50 respectively. I start at 0.50 over then drop down to 0.25 if it's not moving.

This has worked for me so far, they still complain, but somebody will buy it, so it doesn't matter. You can always adjust it if the product isn't moving to your liking.
