Why this build?
Pros
  • Easy mechanics
  • Satisfying one shotting bosses
  • Cloak is surprisingly effective defense
Cons
  • Somewhat requires patience
  • Does not deal well with large packs

First Three Points

Railgun

We focus on projectile speed as Railgun's damage is multiplied by the speed.

This can be painful to start so feel free to use Flak or Salvo to level

Spectre

Spectre cloaks and avoids aggro and boosts damage.
The cloaking protects and boosts damage, up to 300% total weapon damage. We will mostly avoid attention from enemies.

Amp

Amp will further boost damage, even more for those who are close
You can optionally swap this with another shield or Rapid Reconstruction.

Weapon Mods

From here we will want to start with the entire Snipe tree which boosts projectile velocity and damage.

Incendiary Strike will let 50% of our already big chungus hits ignite. If you don't one shot the ignite will finish them off.

Calibrate will increase our projectiles velocity and targeting which increase damage and improve targeting. This will charge up along side our cloaking even waiting an extra second yields tremendous damage.

Snipe is our polar opposite of our Amp shield so we maximize damage when shooting from afar.

Targeting We want this whole tree except Guidance since that mod will hurt our damage with not much benefit.

Our goal with this tree is to get Convergence since it adds +2 projectiles. Each projectile does full damage so we are effectively adding 200% more damage with a little velocity loss Calibrate winds up to offset this detriment.

Magnitude tree should be taken but I would skip Charging Shot since that will make us start decloaking.

Splinter can be taken since you are doing slow big hits , fire rate isn't a concern and can be mitigated with one ROF mod.

Defensive Mods

Hull Strength - You should take everything in this tree. Will buffer you against mistakes or waves with many enemies.

Regeneration - Helps recover from mistakes. I would take this tree and depending on if you want a shield or not, either Regenerative Shields or Rapid Reconstruction

Efficiency - Since you are spending a good amount of time cloaking this let you further benefit from "waiting". You could in junction with increased shields take Conversion to dump more of your shields into hull which will increase the amount of hull regen per second you receive since its based on total hull.

Conversion - It is advisable to take this since it provides a flat +5 to hull and shields. The only important part is WHEN you take this as it will convert from one into the other. I would recommend getting the highest hull possible.

Shield Durability - Can be taken before or after Conversion depending on what route you would go. For this guides sake I take it to convert shields into hull if possible.

Wild Mods

Obssession - More bang for your buck per level. You gain recursive mods an additional time. This well help with some of the mods below. You should get this as soon as you see it.

Evolutionary Niche improves powers by 10% will improve the damage done by cloaking. It is recommended to take this whenever you see it.

Bravado Take this once you get comfortable with damage this will make cloaking even more powerful.

Grandeur You will usually want to take this over almost any other mod. We want to take Atraxia eventually. When I am stacking unspent points with Ataraxia I will use my rerolls in hopes that I get this mod, especially if you already have Obssession

Ricochet Shots that do not kill will bounce, not important.

Quantum Decoherence It is ideal to get this later in your game since levels are slower later on and will boost Atraxia. If I see this I usually take it since it is ultra-rare.
Ending

Super Mod - Ataraxia You may be tempted to mistaken Ataraxia as just another mod with some singular purpose or build in mind but that is false. This is what you take when you build is essentially finished. After some levels and I get comfortable I will stock pile 4 mods to make it appear in mod pool then take it now, for later, or wait to grab it.

Towards the end of your build this will be much more powerful then just randomly taking mods, esp. if get at least 5 for +30% body gear powers. You receive +5% damage, +1% total max hull and shield per point which is invaluable for oneshotting bosses on your second or third loop.

Gameplay

Since this build uses spectre you will be looking for cozy areas on the screen to lay low and build up calibrate and cloak for the big damage. It is very satisfying when you line up your shot to maximize the enemies hit in a single shot.

If you feel you've learned something from this guide please consider leaving a rating. When I first started the mod icons were easier for me to look then knowing the mod names and it is considerable work getting them to work with Steam.

Also use incendiary strike and deflagrigation for crowd control

You could and that would probably help kill bosses more easily but I think it will make it more difficult with waves of tons of enemies. I think it already does deal with bosses well already but if you want to push more damage that is a smart option.

I see you got convergence, but not singular strike, if you want really big damage, shouldn't you take fusillade and singular strike?
