Solution

We'll make it short and straightforward.

-> Before you start the game, right-click on the game in your game library

-> click on Settings:

-> click on general and at the bottom you will find a free field with the heading “start options”
-> type in: " -showlinkingqr "

You can now exit the Settings and you are ready to go play without needing an psn account

I think that PSN overlay mesess with those controller prompts. I had, so as it seems right now, no problems with shooting and fighting.

Mav99 - can you play the game offline? Can you remove the Playstastaion PS_SDK software and still play the remaster? What if you start the game, then disable your internet connection?

It DOES work, in a way. Just not as this guide suggests. You still need to link with a PSN account. But once the accounts are linked, this completely removes the PSN overlay from the game.
Good enough for me.
