How to Backup Saves for Webfishing (Visual Guide)
By nwofka
steam cloud is not active on this game, so if you are to uninstall or get a new pc or whatnot, none of your saves will be saved to the cloud.
This guide is meant to help people in the most straight forward way possible.

To back them up:

  1. go to file explorer

  2. copy this into the address bar: %appdata%/Godot/app_userdata/webfishing_2_newver

  3. copy everything from this folder and paste it into a new folder (preferably called webfishing
    backup)

  4. keep this backup somewhere safe (USB drive, Google Drive, etc)

if you need to reinstall:

  1. copy the files from the webfishing backup folder

  2. paste them into the same folder as before: %appdata%/Godot/app_userdata/webfishing_2_newver

I recommend regularly doing this every time you make significant progress in the game.

@itsneboi If you mean that you put your actual game save onto an external hard drive, then you should just be able to go to the place where you stored it and get the save file.

If you meant that you installed webfishing onto an external hard drive and are looking for the %appdata% for the external hard drive, the answer is there is no %appdata% for an external hard drive being used for storage. The only way it would have an AppData directory is if you set it up as a separate Windows installation boot drive.

So, even if installed onto an external hard drive, the webfishing game save will be stored in the %appdata% of your computer's main drive (most likely C:). This goes for all games/programs that store their data in the AppData directory. So you should be able to use this guide and find your save.
