How to set up an Xbox Controller
By tommy_lop
There are a lot of people having issues getting the game to work with a modern day controller, even with steam layouts. In this guide I will walk you through on how to set up a controller so you can use it on the gameplay.

Step 1: Access the Gamepad Configuration
1. Start a New Game
○ Launch the game and navigate to the Options menu.
○ Select Player 1 and set it to use a Gamepad.
Screenshot Suggestion: Add a screenshot of the Options menu with the "Player 1" Gamepad selection highlighted.
2. Enter Player 1 Configuration
○ Once Gamepad is selected, go to Player 1 Configuration.
○ Make sure you have both your keyboard and your controller nearby.
Step 2: Map the Controller Buttons
1. Select a command (e.g., Quick Attack).
2. Press Enter on your keyboard.
3. Immediately press the button on your controller that you want to assign to this action (e.g., I recommend using the X button on an Xbox controller for Quick Attack).
Screenshot Suggestion: Add a screenshot showing the configuration screen where you assign commands.
4. Use the Down Arrow Key on your keyboard to move to the next command.
5. Repeat the process:
○ Press Enter.
○ Press the desired button on your controller.
You will need to configure every command, including directional inputs for the analog stick.
Step 3 Make sure it works
1. Once all commands are set, press Backspace on the keyboard to save your changes.
2. Start the game and test your controller setup.
• If it works, great! If not, you may need to repeat the process to ensure the commands are saved correctly.

If you have any questions, please check out my YouTube video above. And remember, the game's main menu can only be accessed by a keyboard, but once you load into the game, the controller should work for all commands, provided you set them up.
