Chapter 1: Cerigne
Three achievements can be obtained in this chapter.

Good Press
Awarded for visiting the Cerigne Gazette and impressing them so that they write about you and your upcoming concert. When the option comes up, choose
I visit the Cerigne Gazette to ingratiate myself with the press.
(Note that any other activities will not be available afterward.) When talking to the press, there are several ways to get the achievement:
  • I tell them about my escape from Bonaventure.
This option only gets the achievement if you escaped the concert in Bonaventure without apologizing.
  • I demonstrate my skill on the strings.
After choosing this, you will need to choose a test of quick, original, or emotional Genius traits. You need to have at least 55 in a trait to pass the respective check.
  • I tell a mocking anecdote about the archbishop's exorbitant hat.
This option is only available if you chose to pay attention to archbishop's hat earlier in the chapter.
  • I tell them a nasty story about Ruggiero.
After choosing this, you will be presented with six choices corresponding to your Genius traits. Make sure to choose the one in which your score is strictly higher than 50 (unless all three of them are at 50 exactly you probably have at least one option).

Friendly
Awarded after encountering a mugger in the Cerigne alleyway (you need scoundrel<50 for it to happen) and navigating the situation by being polite (you need polite>55 to pass the check).
When the option becomes available, choose
I visit the slums because I want to experience some adventure.
(It is also possible to be forced into the alleyway if you choose to go to the tailor instead, but buy nothing.)
Then, if your scoundrel is strictly lower than 50, you will encounter a mugger, and you should choose
I try treating him as a potential admirer, and offer him tickets to my concert if he lets me go.
If your polite>55, you will get the achievement.

Unstoppable
During the concert, one of your string breaks. When it happens, choose
I charge ahead, attempting to keep playing using only the remaining strings.
You will need to pass an intrigue check (namely intrigue<43) to get the achievement.

Coin Purse
Awarded automatically after finishing the first concert (no matter how successful).

Wardrobe achievements
  • You can obtain a tricorne in the slums for the Hat Enthusiast achievement. This can happen either if you have scoundrel <50 and you meet the mugger: in this case, instead of being friendly with him for the other achievement, you should try to punch him. You get the hat if you succeed, and for that you need quick >55. Alternatively, if your scoundrel is 50 or higher, you will encounter a merchant who will sell the tricorne to you for 3; note that you will not have even 3 at this point of the game if you said that you were raised in an orphanage during the interview in the prologue.
  • If, instead of going to the Cerigne Gazette or the slums, you choose to visit the tailor, you will get the option to buy either a jacket or a dress, contributing to the Jacket Enthusiast or the Dress Enthusiast achievements. You will need to pay at least 12 to actually get the item: the only way to have that much this early in the game (before performing your first concert) is to say that you were born to either crooked or to honest merchants in the interview in the prologue.
Chapter 2: Orgelmark
Top Secret
Awarded for playing a concert at the Universal Union meeting. When meeting Ludwig Suppe and hearing his proposal, choose
I agree to play the concert.
(Note that you can also choose "I tell him I thought the Union didn't believe in Genius.", and agree to play the concert after that. However, choosing any other option will result in passing up the opportunity.)
As long as you play the concert, no matter how successful, you get the achievement.

Wardrobe achievements
  • If you agree to perform for the Universal Union, you will be given a hat after the concert (no matter if you perform well or not), which contributes to the Hat Enthusiast achievement.
  • If you do not agree to the optional concert, you will have the opportunity to visit an Orgelmark tailor and get either a jacket or a dress, contributing to the Jacket Enthusiast and the Dress Enthusiast achievements, respectively. You need at least 30 to buy the clothes.
Chapter 3: Kavka
Costumes of Kavka
When entering the castle and spotting first Ludwig and then Maria, choose to ignore both of them by selecting
I ignore him and continue past.
and then
I ignore her and keep chasing the luggage.
Achievement is awarded after that.

Wardrobe achievements
  • After successfully chasing down the luggage, you will have an opportunity to get a wig, a hat, a jacket, or a dress (but only one of these four items), each contributing to its respective achievement. You can either convince the courtier (this will work if you have polite >62 or scoundrel <44), or pay her 10.

Guardian Angel
This achievement is awarded in the epilogue, if by the end of the game you sufficiently demonstrate that you are prone to snooping around and spying. It is sufficient to use only three of those opportunities over the course of the story.
  • The first opportunity comes when talking to Maria in Kavka. You can either walk past Ludwig and stop to talk to her, or, if you also talked to Ludwig, the dialogue with Maria will also happen after.
  • The second choice that helps towards this achievement comes when talking to Zerov:
"Tell me, Count/ess Zerov, what do you think of the war that is coming to Meropa?"
Chapter 4: Pozloty
Immortalized
When Claudia suggests you spend money, choose to commission a portrait by selecting
I want to commission a portrait like those hanging on the columns (rc. 150).
The option is only selectable if you have enough money at this point. I recommend not spending any money (including on clothes) in the particular run for this achievement.

Songs from the Crypt
Awarded for winning a duel of Geniuses at Ruggiero's secret concert at the end of the chapter. The outcome of the duel is decided in two choices, in the course of which Ruggiero can gain or loose points. He starts with 1, and, for you to win the duel, he must have 1 or lower at the end of the duel.
The first choice:
  • I menace Ruggiero's Genius with mine, trying to throw him off.
Ruggiero gets a point if your scoundrel is 50 or lower.
  • I attempt to let my Genius feed silently on the energy of Ruggiero's.
Ruggiero gets a point if your intrigue is 50 or lower.
  • I keep my Genius tightly in check; it would be wrong to let it interact with his.
    Ruggiero gets a point.
The second choice:
  • My Genius expands: I agree to speak well of Zerov in Lithaltania.
    Ruggiero looses a point.
  • My Genius contracts: I tell Zerov that I oppose Sclavia and will not speak well of it.
    Ruggiero gets a point.
  • My Genius maintains equilibrium: I tell Zerov that my principles mean I must remain neutral.
The option does not affect Ruggiero's points.

Wardrobe achievements
  • When meeting Claudia, she will offer to make you a coat, a dress, or a kaftan, all free of charge. If you already have the Rienzi cape, you will get the Cape and Kaftan Enthusiast achievement here. Otherwise, you can progress the Jacket Enthusiast achievement by selecting coat, or the Dress Enthusiast achievement by choosing dress.

Guardian Angel
This achievement is awarded in the epilogue, if by the end of the game you sufficiently demonstrate that you are prone to snooping around and spying. It is sufficient to use only three of those opportunities over the course of the story, and one of them comes in this chapter.
  • When deciding what to do during the day before the concert, choose:
I spend the day trying to listen for rumors about the conflict that seems poised to overtake Meropa.
This only contributes towards the achievement if you pass the intrigue check by having intrigue >45.
Chapter 5: Lithaltania
Folk Hero
Properly accompany a Liganainen poem read by Aki on your instrument. The idea is that the tone of the poem and of the music should be opposite.
In particular,
  • After choosing
"Can you sing a comical poem?"
    select either
I play a dark and thunderous melody.
    or
I play a sinuous and sinister melody.
  • After choosing either
"Can you sing an epic war poem?"
    or
"Can you sing a murder ballad?"
    select
I play a light and lilting melody.

Initiate
When encountering a Universal Union lodge, get access to it by pretending to be an initiate of the Union by selecting
I try to convince the porter: "I am Name da Rienzi, an initiated member of the Universal Union."
This will succeed either if you played at the concert for the Universal Union in Chapter 2, or if you have intrigue >50.

Lazas Night
When the option comes up, select
I agree to play at Aki's Lazas Night celebration.
For the achievement, the performance must be successful, so one of the three checks must be passed:
  • I try to feel the emotion of the other musicians and match it. [This could impress the Lithaltanians.]
You succeed if your emotional >55.
  • I try to let go of all my polite refinement and let my Genius howl at the fire. [This could anger the Church.]
You succeed if your polite <48 or scoundrel >52.
  • I try to join in and keep pace with the boisterous, loud, and unsubtle music. [This could impress the public.]
You succeed if your intrigue <48.

Guardian Angel
This achievement is awarded in the epilogue, if by the end of the game you sufficiently demonstrate that you are prone to snooping around and spying. It is sufficient to use only three of those opportunities over the course of the story.
  • When the option becomes available, choose:
I inform Aki that Henri Requin is a Bonaventurian spy.
  • The next opportunity comes by if you choose:
I agree to give a private concert at Zerov's friend's estate.
    And then:
I ask about this Lord Bullingdon.
Chapter 6: St. Olafsburg
Audience
To meet the empress, you need to play the concert flawlessly, passing all the checks with your stats. Below are the three choices and check requirements.
The first choice:
  • I play a stately prelude, trying to slowly match my Genius to the atmosphere of the theater. [This could impress Sclavia.]
You pass if you have quick <50.
  • I play a bold prelude, attempting to lay out a clear plan of attack on the atmosphere of the theater. [This could alarm Sclavia.]
You pass if you have intrigue <47.
  • I play a cold prelude, trying to hide my plans for joining the atmosphere of the theater. [This could intimidate the public.]
You pass if you have emotional <52.
The second choice:
  • I try following with a sprightly fantasy. [This could impress the public.]
You pass if you have quick <45 or polite >62.
  • I try following with a slow and refined dirge. [This could intimidate the public.]
You pass if you have intrigue <47.
  • I try following with a suite of pagan folk songs. [This could annoy the Church.]
You pass if you have original <45 or emotional >57.
The third choice:
  • My fingers playing automatically, I send my Genius outward to commune with that of the empress.
This option is only available if you passed the two previous checks; selecting this option passes the final check automatically, although you may be interested in the other options to raise other stats.
  • I attempt a blazing-fast finale. [This could impress [i]Count/ess[/i] Zerov.]
You pass if you have quick >52.
  • I attempt a sweet, simple finale. [This could impress the public.]
You pass if you have polite >60 or scoundrel <40.
  • I attempt a stark, strange, and twisted finale. [This could intimidate the public.]
You pass if you have original >52.

Not Displeased
When you meet the empress, she asks what do you want from her. Depending on your stats, some of your answers may impress her.
  • I tell her that I want nothing; spending time in Sclavia is reward enough.
This impresses Katarina if your bonaventure <40.
  • I tell her that I want money.
This works to both impress her and get money if your intrigue <40.
  • I tell her that I want her support so that I might become better known to her citizens.
This only works if your public <50.
  • I tell her that I want nothing from her, because I could never repay a favor to an empress.
This impresses Katarina if your scoundrel <40.

Ice skater
Awarded when skating on your way to Zerov's House. To be invited, select
I feel the need for company, and suggest a visit to Zerov's house.
when the option becomes available after the concert. Zerov only agrees if your bonaventure <50.

Guardian Angel
This achievement is awarded in the epilogue, if by the end of the game you sufficiently demonstrate that you are prone to snooping around and spying. It is sufficient to use only two of those opportunities over the course of the story.
  • This option becomes available if you spend the night after the concert in your hotel room. This may happen if you have a different plan for the night but do not have the stats to follow through with it, but a surefire way to get to the hotel is to choose to do so:
I feel a need for privacy, and want to go back to my hotel.
    Then, select:
I snoop around the hotel, hoping to find something of interest.
Chapter 7: Mosbor
Fire Extinguisher
When the fire starts during your concert, you need to choose
I try to help put out the fire.
To obtain the achievement, you must have intrigue <48 or scoundrel <48 to pass the check.

Pity
...and notes on Never Forget and Let It Go achievements
When authorities ask you if you know the identity of the arsonist, do not tell them, out of pity. Specifically, you need to choose one of the options:
  • I feign ignorance, hoping to give Ruggiero time to get away.
This works on the inspector if you have intrigue >60 or polite >60.
Note: If the check here is failed, i.e. if you have intrigue <=60 and polite <=60, and if you also have bonaventure >55, Ruggiero will die; this prevents you from getting Never Forget or Let It Go achievements in the next chapter.
  • I feign ignorance, because I do not wish to cooperate with the authorities in any way.
For this to work, you need intrigue >62 or polite >64.
  • I tell them the fire was started by Ruggiero, my professional rival and nemesis.
You get to the same second scene if you have scoundrel >36 and polite <64 (in other words, the inspector does not trust your statement here).
If the first choice succeeds, select
I warn Ruggiero that he is in grave danger, because I feel sorry for him.
This will result in the achievement.

Note: The only choice when talking to the inspector that was not mentioned is
I tell them the fire was started by Ruggiero da Colubrina, a very dangerous Bonaventurian spy.
Selecting cannot lead to the Pity achievement, and, if your intrigue >56 or your bonaventure <43, this will result in Ruggiero's death, which prevents you from getting Never Forget or Let It Go achievements.

Wardrobe achievements
  • The final hat for the Hat Enthusiast achievement is obtained by spending time with Zerov in Mosbor, either by going to the ballet or to the falconry. These options only become available if you are not hospitalized upon your arrival at Mosbor, so if your health is at least 40 at the start of the chapter.
If you also have the tricorne from Cerigne, the hat from playing for the Union, and the hat from Kavka, you will get the achievement here.
  • Alternatively, if you are in a romantic relationship with Zerov (i.e. you satisfied the conditions for the Ice skater achievement, went to the bedroom and kissed Zerov, staying for the night or not), you will get an option to spend your time together in private. For that, you will get the final wig for the Wig Enthusiast achievement, assuming you also got the wig from Kavka (the Bonaventure wig, which you have from the start of the game, also counts toward the achievement). Similarly to the previous point, this option is only offered to you if you are not hospitalized, so if your health is at least 40 at the start of the chapter.
  • When meeting Anna in Mosbor, suggest to go shopping with her, where you can by either a jacket or a dress, both for 50. This is the last jacket or dress, so if you have collected all the previous ones, you get the Jacket Enthusiast or the Dress Enthusiast achievement here (the Rienzi peasant jacket or dress in which you start the game also counts towards the respective achievement).
Chapter 8: Colubrina
Never Forget and Let It Go
The first achievement is for maintaining the rivalry with Ruggiero, while the second one is for ending it. For both of these achievements, Ruggiero must be alive; see previous section for more information on how to avoid Ruggiero's death. When approaching the theater, your acquaintance will pass Ruggiero's invitation. You can accept it either with good intentions or with bad intentions.

If you choose:
I agree to visit Ruggiero, with good intentions.
You will get the following options:
  • I want to befriend Ruggiero: I try to claim that we are comrades, as we both support Bonaventure Fox.
If your bonaventure >55, the rivalry is ended, otherwise it is revived.
  • I want to immediately end my rivalry with Ruggiero: I attempt to appear polite and yet superior.
If your polite >60, the rivalry is ended, otherwise it is revived.
  • I want to bolster support for Bonaventure Fox: I attempt to appear bold and triumphant.
If your intrigue <40, the rivalry is ended, otherwise it is revived.
  • I wish to gently disengage from my rivalry with Ruggiero: I attempt to appear warm and sincere.
If your scoundrel <40 or emotional >60, the rivalry is ended, otherwise it is revived.
If, on the other hand, you chose
I agree to visit Ruggiero, with bad intentions.
You will get the following options:
  • I want to explain our mutual hatred: I claim that we are natural enemies, as he supports Bonaventure Fox and I support Sclavia.
If your bonaventure <45, the rivalry is ended, otherwise it is revived.
  • I want to sabotage Ruggiero's efforts at supporting Bonaventure: I try speaking to him forcibly and aggressively.
The rivalry is ended if you previously chose to bring bodyguards with you:
Fearing for my safety, I hire some bodyguards.
    Otherwise, the rivalry is revived.
  • I want to confuse Ruggiero: I try babbling mysteriously.
The rivalry is ended if you previously chose to get drunk:
Not caring how I appear to Ruggiero, I become extremely drunk before my visit.
    Otherwise, the rivalry is revived.
  • I want to punish Ruggiero for how he has treated me: I try speaking to him sarcastically and snidely.
The rivalry is ended if you previously chose to bring a retinue:
Wishing to show my disdain, I bring along a foppish retinue.
    Otherwise, the rivalry is revived.

For the achievements, it is also important that your Geniuses are in alignment with you. So, when parting, if your rivalry is revived, choose:
Our Geniuses lash out one last time.
You will then be awarded the Never Forget achievement. If, on the other hand, your rivalry is ended, choose:
Our Geniuses hold back, desiring peace.
And you will get the Let It Go achievement.
Chapter 9: Rienzi
The majority of this first part of the chapter is devoted to the battle between Sclavia and Bonaventure, which can be entirely skipped if one of the fraction has more than 60 support: namely, if your bonaventure >60, then you automatically proceed to the Bonaventurian Siege section; if your bonaventure <40, you continue to the Sclavian Occupation section. This section is devoted to the two achievements that can be only obtained if the battle does happen, so your bonaventure support must be between 40 and 60 (including 40 and 60) at the start of the chapter.

Savior and Soldier
For the Savior achievement, see the battle for Rienzi end with neither Bonaventurian Siege or Sclavian Occupation.
Throughout this part of the chapter a battle score is kept for both Sclavia and Bonaventure, and at the end of the battle, a battle score check is performed. For this achievement, the final score for both armies must be at most 2.

Both armies start with the score of 4. Certain conditions affect the score before the start of the battle:
  • If bonaventure is exactly 60, Bonaventure army gets +1 to their score. The same does not go for Sclavia.
  • If you apologized when escaping from the Bonaventure concert, Bonaventure army gets -1.
  • If, during your escape from Bonaventure, you insulted him by selecting one of the following options (the list varies based on how you escaped), Bonaventure army gets +1:
    • I was cold and somewhat insulting, yet polite.
    • I spoke rudely and distractingly.
    • I spoke shockingly and distractingly.
    • I spoke rudely as I edged towards the window.
  • If you impressed the empress Katarina, so you met the conditions of the respective achievement, Sclavia army gets -1.
  • If your relationship with your driver Cornelius is 50 or higher, he stays in Rienzi to fight, and Bonaventure army gets -1.

There are three options for joining the battle, all of which can lead to the achievement:
  • I want to take an active part in the battle, with no concern for my own safety.
    • If, at this point, the battle score of the two armies is the same, Bonaventure army gets +1 if your support for them is strictly higher than 50; if it is instead <50, it gets -1.
      First choice:
      • If your intrigue <55 and you choose this, Bonaventure army gets -2:
I join a sortie against Bonaventure, to damage his position.
You also get the Soldier achievement if you pass the intrigue check.
      • If your intrigue <52 and you choose this, Sclavia army gets -2:
I join a sortie against Sclavia, to damage its position.
You also get the Soldier achievement if you pass the intrigue check.
      • The result for the following option is random (when it comes to which score gets affected):
Unconcerned about which side prevails today, I join a group of scouts to gather intelligence.
If your intrigue >52, either Bonaventure army gets -1 or Sclavia army gets -2; additionally, if you pass the check then you get intelligence you can use later. If the intrigue check is failed, Bonaventure army gets +2, and Sclavia army gets +1. Note that the intrigue check itself is not random, only the battle score outcome is.
      Second choice:
      • If your intrigue >52 or you have obtained intelligence in the previous choice, Bonaventure/Sclavia army gets -2 for selecting:
I join an attack on Bonaventure/Sclavia's supplies.
You also get the Soldier achievement if you have not before.
      • Both armies get -2 to their scores if you have the intelligence from the previous choice or your scoundrel <45:
I join a clandestine mission to convince the local peasants to enter the fray.
    • Closer to the end of the battle, you will get the option to ask one of the fractions you interacted with for help. If the battle scores are tied, and the request for help is successful, then both armies get -1 to their score; if, on the other hand, the battle scores are not the same, then the leading army gets -1, no matter if the help request is successful or not.
For the help request to be successful, you must ask Maria to write about your support for the fraction in your last interview in the previous chapter; note that she only offers you to add such a message if you first ask her to write in support of either Bonaventure or Sclavia. Your rapport with the fraction must be >55 (>51 in case of Lithaltania, >=55 in case of Church) for the help request to succeed; otherwise Maria will offer you to write about a different fraction. The help request will not work if you do not show them support in your interview, even if your score with them is high.
  • I want to take part in the battle while also trying very hard to avoid getting hurt.
    • First choice:
      • If your intrigue >55, Bonaventure army gets -1 if you choose:
I join a squad of skirmishers who intend to sneak-attack Bonaventure's army.
You also get the Soldier achievement if you pass the check.
      • If your scoundrel >55 or intrigue >55, Sclavia army gets -1 if you choose:
I join a squad of saboteurs who intend to harass the Sclavian encampment.
You also get the Soldier achievement if you pass the check.
      • If your public >60, both armies get -1 to their score if you choose:
I stay here in the office: I want to do my part in the defense of Rienzi from here.
    • At random, either Bonaventure or Sclavia army get -1 to its score.
    • At the end of the battle, you can call upon one of the fractions for help; the procedure and outcomes are a bit more involved compared to participating in the battle without being careful, but the key condition is the same: a fraction will only answer your request if you expressed your support to them in your last interview for Maria in the previous chapter.
If your score with the fraction is >55 (>51 in case of Lithaltania, >=55 in case of Church), you can ask them to attack either Bonaventure or Sclavia, and the request will be successful. The respective army will get -2 to its battle score.
Additionally, if your score with the fraction is >65 (>57 in case of Lithaltania, >=65 in case of Church), you can ask them to attack both Sclavia and Bonaventure, and both of their battle scores will get -1. If your score is not that high, the fraction will not help at all, even if you satisfy the lower requirement.
Special note: It appears that there is a bug if you ask the Church for help fighting both Sclavia and Bonaventure: namely, the church will show up and help if you have a high enough rapport with Union, and you expressed your support to Union in the interview. Asking the Church for help with just one of the armies works fine.
  • I want nothing to do with the battle, and will spend it tucked away behind the walls of Rienzi.
    • During the battle, there are two instances when one of the armies gets -1 to its battle score.
    • Toward the end of the battle, you can ask one of the fractions for help, with the exact same mechanics as if you joined the battle while being careful, see above.
    • The achievement is only awarded if your public >50 by the end of the battle.
Chapter 9: Sclavian Occupation
This section is only activated within the game if your support for Sclavia is over 60 (so bonaventure <40) at the start of Chapter 9, or if there was a battle, which ended with Sclavia winning (i.e. if Sclavia's battle score was at least 3 and strictly more than Bonaventure's score). Both achievements of the section are obtainable if you decide to go into politics by choosing:
I decide to become involved in the politics of occupied Rienzi.

Figurehead
Awarded for successfully collaborating with the new Sclavian government. You start the path by selecting either:
I am excited about collaborating with the Sclavian governors.
or
I am heartsick about collaborating with the Sclavian governors.

Then, you have to pass two checks: you can choose which of the checks to pass in each choice.
First choice:
  • I speak in consoling blather: I want to flatter him.
The check is passed if your polite >55.
  • I voice a rather avid concern: I wish to impress and slightly worry him.
The check is passed if your scoundrel >53 or intrigue >53.
  • I make a non sequitur, or is it a veiled threat? I hope to confuse and possibly frighten him.
The check is passed if your intrigue >50.
Second choice:
  • I arrange for the production of a patriotic opera about this new era of cooperation between Sclavia and Rienzi.
The check is passed if your polite >60 or scoundrel <40.
  • I arrange for the production of a satirical opera about the failure of Bonaventure Fox.
The check is passed if your scoundrel >50 or polite <49.
  • I arrange for the production of a romantic opera about a mysterious Sclavian noble.
The check is passed if your intrigue >55.

After these two choices, select:
I try to persuade Governor Schloss that I should take his place as the Governor of Rienzi.
This only works if you passed the two checks before.

Finally, if your relationship score with Zerov is more than 60, they will show up. Your collaboration efforts will not be affected in a negative way as long as you do not choose:
I plan to approach Count/ess Zerov with malice.

Alternatively, if your relationship is good enough for Zerov to visit Rienzi, and you failed one of the two checks at the start, you can use the interaction with Zerov to still get the achievement. For this, instead of suggesting you take the governor post, select:
I try to persuade Governor Schloss that it is safe to move the soldiers out of the city.
For the achievement, you must pass the check by having scoundrel <45 or intrigue <45.
Then, when Zerov visits, one of the following options will aid your collaboration efforts:
  • I plan to avoid Count/ess Zerov.
This only helps if your intrigue >50.
  • I plan to approach Count/ess Zerov with warmth.
After selecting the above, more options become available:
    • I meet Count/ess Zerov formally and with good humor.
This only works if your relationship score with Zerov >65.
    • I give Count/ess Zerov a tour of Rienzi.
This helps if your intrigue <49.
    • I perform a private concert for Count/ess Zerov.
For this to succeed, you must have emotional >55, quick >55, or original >55.
    • I propose to Count/ess Zerov an intimate meeting, so that we might rekindle our romance.
This option is only available if you are in a romantic relationship with Zerov.

Governor
Awarded for successfully sabotaging the new Sclavian government. You start the path by selecting:
I refuse to collaborate, and I am determined to sabotage Sclavian progress in Rienzi however I can.

Then, you have to pass two checks: you can choose which of the checks to pass in each choice.
First choice:
  • I speak in sugary, optimistic tones: I want to reassure him.
The check is passed if your polite >55.
  • I speak with worldly sarcasm: I want to amuse and distract him.
The check is passed if your scoundrel >50 or polite <50.
  • I speak warmly: I want to appeal to him personally.
The check is passed if your emotional >55.
Second choice:
  • I arrange for the production of a farcical opera featuring a thinly veiled caricature of Igor Schloss.
The check is passed if your scoundrel >50 or polite <50.
  • I arrange for the production of a subtly satirical opera painting Sclavia as well meaning but worthless.
The check is passed if your intrigue >52.
  • I arrange for the production of an experimental opera which, once deciphered, contains a strong anti-Sclavian sentiment.
The check is passed if your original >50.

After these two choices, select:
I try to convince Igor that he is in physical danger, hoping that he will leave Rienzi.
This only works if you passed the two checks before.

Finally, if your relationship score with Zerov is more than 60, they will show up. Your sabotage efforts will not be affected in a negative way as long as you do not choose:
I plan to approach Count/ess Zerov with warmth.
(Note that, if you do choose the option, but fail the check that follows after, this will not affect your sabotage efforts, either; see the Figurehead achievement for more information about the checks that follow this choice.)

Alternatively, if your relationship is good enough for Zerov to visit Rienzi, and you failed one of the two checks at the start, you can use the interaction with Zerov to still get the achievement. For this, instead of suggesting the governor leaves Rienzi, select either:
I try to convince Igor that he should arrange a military parade, hoping this will cause friction.
(For the achievement, you must pass the check by having intrigue <49.)
I try to convince Igor to give a speech from his balcony, planning to stand behind him and make him look foolish.
(For the achievement, you must pass the check by having scoundrel <47.)
Then, when Zerov visits, one of the following options will aid your sabotage efforts:
  • I plan to avoid Count/ess Zerov.
This only helps if your intrigue >50.
  • I plan to approach Count/ess Zerov with malice.
    After selecting the above, choose:
I want to perform a private angry concert for Count/ess Zerov.
For this to succeed, you must have intrigue <53. There are more options for what can be done when approaching Zerov with malice, but if your character is not able to pass one of the two checks in the beginning, then you cannot succeed with the other available options here.
Chapter 9: Bonaventurian Siege
This section is only available if your support for Bonaventure was high enough at the start of the chapter (so your bonaventure >60), or if there was a battle in Rienzi which ended with Bonaventure army winning, i.e. its battle score was at least 3 and strictly higher than Sclavia battle score.

The two achievements of this section of the chapter have essentially the same solution, as they are awarded one almost immediately after the other.

Escapee and Survivor
Awarded for successfully escaping Rienzi as it falls under the siege, and hence successfully surviving the fall. To manage that, it is crucial that Anna is with you in Rienzi: if she is, then near the end of the section, you can ask her to help the two of you escape, instead of asking one of the fractions for help in breaking the siege:
I beg for Anna to help me escape from Rienzi.

Ensuring that Anna arrives to Rienzi with you is decided in Chapter 8: you will cross paths with her at the end of the chapter, and she will join you in travelling home either if she is in a romantic relationship with you, or if your freebuilders >55 by the start of Chapter 8 (take note that the interview with Maria does not affect your score with the fraction of your choice, it merely checks the current score you have with them).

You are awarded first Escapee, and then Survivor shortly after you make the required choice.
How can I raise a Genius stat ...?
Prologue:
  • The first choice that determines the major aspect of your Genius adds 30% to the stat you choose.
  • The second choice that determines the minor aspect of your Genius adds 20% to the stat you choose.
  • The choice in response to Maria's interview question on how you developed your Genius adds 15% to the stat you choose. An exception is original: choosing "I invented new types of music nobody had ever heard." adds 20%.
  • Chapter 4: Strengthening Genius during the day adds 20% or deducts 10% from quick, adds or deducts 20% from emotional, and adds 20% or deducts 10% from original, based on where on the scale you already are (always moving further from the center).
  • Chapter 6: Practicing the instrument in the hotel room after the concert also moves the stats from the center: adds 20% or deducts 10% from quick, adds or deducts 20% from emotional, and adds or deducts 15% from original.
