Excessive Wind Noise Fix
By Cherry
The wind noise at high speeds made the game unplayable for me, but I solved it with a simple copy-paste file transfer. This guide shows you how to do it.

If you have F1 2016
1. Download it so you can gain access to its files.

2. Locate the aero.bnk file in F1 2016

Steam -> steamapps -> common -> F1 2016 -> audio -> soundbanks -> aero.bnk

3. Copy the file

4. Paste the file into the same folder on F1 2015 to replace 2015's aero.bnk

Steam -> steamapps -> common -> F1 2015 -> audio -> soundbanks

Don't forget the soundbanks_hq folder as well since F1 2015 has two different quality ranges in the audio settings.

Steam -> steamapps -> common -> F1 2015 -> audio -> soundbanks_hq

After that, the wind noise should be mostly gone. There would still be some because F1 2016 also has wind noise, but at least now you can hear the engine sound at 200 kmh+.

I don't recommend deleting the file entirely as the game usually crashes if a certain file is gone or has been renamed incorrectly. But I haven't tried it specifically with the aero.bnk file being deleted.

I haven't tried using the same aero.bnk file from the newer games because the further the title is from the original, the more buggy it becomes (e.g using engine sounds from F1 23 in 2015).
If you DON'T have F1 2016
Comment on this guide and I'll upload the aero.bnk file as a mod on the Overtake.gg website.

But either way, if you have F1 2015, might as well complete the skinny 2014 - 2016 car trilogy by buying the game from somewhere.
