Hi everyone.
As a fellow Steamdeck player, me & the community are testing ways to Run Inzoi the best on Steamdeck LCD/OLED.
We started from a black screen, to playing it for hours with none or very less problems.
Waiting for Inzoi’s developers official fix for Steamdeck, these are all the fixes that we found working.

Thank you!❤️
STEP 1: Fix Blackscreen/Inzoi not launching + Resize game window to fullscreen
-IF you’re having problems with a blackscreen and Inzoi not launching, run Inzoi with Proton Experimental. You will see this will help the game have its first run.

-IF you don’t have this problem, skip this step.

HOW TO RESIZE GAME WINDOW NOT LAUNCHING FULLSCREEN & mouse issue:

This is a common issue with some games, as we have to change resolution to windowed fullscreen to make it run fullscreen.
Follow these steps, it’s very fast and easy:

GO TO DESKTOP MODE

  • Open home folder
  • Right corner> Show hidden files
  • Follow this path: .steam/steam/steamapps/compactdata/2456740 (this is Inzoi’s game folder)/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/BlueClient/Saved/Config/Windows
  • Open GameUserSettings.ini
  • Look for Fullscreenmode=0
  • Change the 0 to 1 as Fullscreenmode=1
  • Save
Go back to Game Mode, and it’s on fullscreen now.

*In the game settings, don’t change Windowed Fullscreen to Fullscreen as it will change the line back to 0, making it windowed again.
For visual explanation, see Deck Wizard’s video linked below.
STEP 2: INSTALL PROTON compatible version
After some testing, we found out the game runs way better using Proton g.e. !
I used to play it with Proton Experimental experiencing many crashing issues.
Changing to Proton g.e. resolved these issues, as I’m having no crashes at all after hours of playing.
Proton g.e. is used to run Windows games more stable when you have crashes or issue with the game not working well.
It’s very simple, follow these steps:

-ENTER DESKTOP MODE (Steam>On/Off>Desktop mode)
-Click the DISCOVER page
-Search for proton
-Install ProtonUp-Qt
-Launch
-Add version
-The latest version should be selected already, press Install
-Wait for it to be installed, then Close
-GO BACK TO GAME MODE
-INZOI>Properties>Compatibility>Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool>
G.E. Proton

You successfully did it!❤️
STEP 3: MANAGE GRAPHICS OPTIONS IN GAME MENU
We found a pretty self-explanatory video that helped us a lot.
This is to manage the in-game graphics settings making the game run better, and less heavy on the console.
I’m linking the video, thanks so much to DECK WIZARD for the help!
Follow his steps.
(link)

*These settings will help the game run smoother as it takes away a bit of the heavyness from the game, even without Proton g.e. But I definitely suggest installing that version of Proton as you can still experience crashes or freezing often.
STEP 4: Create .ini file for more performance/better graphics + Increase vram & uma frame buffer (advanced)
This is optional as not many are able to do this, it needs some tweaking with the game folder and files. You have to create a .ini file and this will be used to ENHANCE the game graphic’s settings on Steamdeck with less performance decrease.
Thanks a lot to ORB for helping & creating these lines for the .ini file

  • Follow this path to reach the game folder:

"~/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/2456740/pfx/drive_c/user s/steamuser/AppData/Local/BlueClient/Saved/Config/Windows’’

  • Create > Blank file
  • Open it with KATE, rename the file Engine.ini
  • Copy these lines and adjust how you feel it’s more suitable for you

  • Check it as “View only”. If it’s not checked, the game will remove this file having write rights on
  • Save. Adjust whenever you feel
If not needed anymore, just delete the file.

INCREASING VRAM USAGE & UMA FRAME BUFFER SIZE NEW!

I’ve been testing this for some weeks, as today (May 6) I noticed a significant increase on the game performances as It doesn’t crash anymore and it runs no problem with Medium graphics, when I had issues even running it on the lowest settings before this adjustments.
You have to access Steamdeck’s BIOS so I recommend it to advanced users, but it’s a pretty easy operation and it’s reversible by just going back to the BIOS and select the default setting again.

If you look up Inzoi’s performance on Steamdeck, you’ll notice the game has quite a big Ram usage on the hardware as a requirement.
The console is set to use only a few percentage of the vram (virtual ram), on default is set like this cause it doesn’t require much hardware usage unless you play AAA titles or very heavy games, like this one.
Increasing VRAM usage will make the console less “fatigued” while playing a title like Inzoi, which only performs well on heavy machines.
Steamdeck can be tweaked to use way more vram in the BIOS settings, that’s what we’re going to do to make it less heavy on the hardware which will become more powerful having the capabilities to do so. This increases performance on the machine as well even when playing other titles.

Linux based i mean
Bigbrotherj1992 11 Apr @ 7:29pm
Because playing on systems that are Linux space or have integrated graphics cards is just not a viable option at this time

We probably won’t see optimization for most systems, including the steam deck until we’re about halfway into the early access development cycle till we hit like that middle point and with them planning on doing an update every two months that might take a bit amount of all your system specs, but if I was you, I would just get a Windows PC that’s made for gaming and play it that way

You can’t get on here and ask Dev’s questions questions like that have to be asked in their discord not on steam. They have their own discord for that and at this time according to their roadmap, there is no plans to optimize the game for systems with integrated graphics cards. They don’t even have plans to optimize it for the steam deck at this moment, which is a system with an integrated graphics card?

The graphic system is compatible with the iris. I will return it or leave it according to your answer. You can do it.

Hi! orb already set those as his/her preferences.
If you have some knowledge, set those as you like or tweak some. They’re already set. You have to tweak as your like
