  1. Download EchoPatch

  2. Find Your F.E.A.R. Installation Folder

      • Steam Version:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FEAR Ultimate Shooter Edition
      • GOG Version:
        C:\GOG Games\FEAR
      • Retail Disc Version:
        (Where you manually installed it.)

    • Extract the contents of the downloaded EchoPatch.zip.
    • Copy all files into your F.E.A.R. installation directory (where FEAR.exe is located).
    • Overwrite files when prompted.
    • (No separate installer is needed — EchoPatch integrates directly.)

  4. (Optional) Configure Settings

    • You can fine-tune EchoPatch features by editing the EchoPatch.ini file:
      • HUD Scaling: Adjust HUDCustomScalingFactor and SmallTextCustomScalingFactor.
      • Framerate: Set MaxFPS (recommended max: 240).
      • Letterbox Disable: Set DisableLetterbox = 1.

@Hogarth Yes, the .ini file that comes with the mod and controls all these tweaks has a command called HUDScaling that can be set to On (1) or Off (0) which enables/disables the custom scaling.
There is also a command called HUDCustomScalingFactor which gives you freedom to set the scaling to whatever you prefer as well.

Also, I believe as of the latest version, you can now customize the scaling of subtitles only if preferred with SmallTextCustomScalingFactor .

Can I scale the HUD back down or is it permanent?

dosent work well at all. its dissapered the mouse in the menu. the controls are still set to unassigned after restarting the game and the only solution is to restore to default with the bad control scheme that the game set. you cant actually choose your own controls. the only thing fixed is the size of the hud and thats it.

Hmm, it's possible the mods aren't fully compatible with each other. My experience with this mod was based on a fresh install of the game. Try the Echo patch on a clean install first to see if it works on its own. Then, install the Titan mod afterward and check whether Echo gets disabled. That should help us figure out what's going on.
