up to lvl 9, mule cargo t1 with crane is by far the most useful. check what you can cram on it lol. it can become very top heavy. I actually managed to deliver all of this. and i only tipped over once and saved myself with a crane.
note: for this mission and probably similar missions, you actually don't need to use the crane to deliver the transformer. you just need to park your truck very close to it.

.
You get this bad boy dump truck at map #4 (sunken) at 24% completed map. Rush it if you are tired of fetching magic sand all the time :)

.
It holds 40 tons of sand.
Tracked preorder dump truck holds 20 tons
Stock dump truck holds 10 tons

When you unlock the third base on map #4, you get this badass crane... and that becomes the quickest way to load cargo onto trailers. position the crane above the trailer and just use shorten ropes function and barely move the crane arms at all.

  • Go to settings > game > crane controls > set it to legacy... thank me later lol. You will no longer be able to drive while using the crane, but who the f needs that.
  • You can sell vehicles back, at 10% reduced value
  • Up to lvl 8, i have tried all dozers, and only kronenwek dozer has self sand leveling mode... other dozers only have manual
  • it is worth it to purchase vehicles to replace rusty ones... they are quite a bit slower

  • If you roll over, you can alf+f4 to close the game and it will open at the last saved spot. if you close through menus it will save
  • Always use AWD and Locked diffs. only use low gear when stuck. Locked diffs make your turning radius larger, but i still use them 99% of cases.
  • if ur really stuck, you can grab a truck with crane and attach the crane to the front of the stuck vehicle and drive the crane truck forward.
  • Best controller settings are 0.7 sensitivity and 0.06 deadzone
  • It is super hard to drive the asphalt paver... i drive it backwards.
  • On map #4 you get heavy transporter... its a jolly to use, but replace the rusty one :) it's a shame we can't strap vehicles down though... got to drive carefully :/

also does heavy loads that you can actually strap

  • If you dont want to transport road construction vehicles to job sites, you can use mobile base vehicle, drive it to your road job site and recall all vehicles there, or deselect any that are already there
Buildings
  • To unlock garages, you have to drive up to them. And then you will get a side quest... i have actually did 100% of map #3 and then found out that garages are still fcking locked lol.
  • For locked sand quarry on map #4, first do another mission that gives you fuel, then open ur map and unlock the quarry from the map window. I had to click a few times on the unlock button because it was slightly bugged.
AI
  • I thought AI gives perpetual rewards. They do not. In "routes" tab, if it says all rewards received, then you can just disable that AI route... otherwise you will probably be pestered all the time about routes failed
  • AI does crash into eachother, unless they are like 20m radius from depot
  • There are a few missions where your convoy is just one truck and needs to reach destination just once, in that case you can help and push it from behind if you don't want to make a super nice road.
  • Start building the road for AI at their start location, so that you can dispatch AI as you go and check if you built a good enough road and fix any problematic areas when you are still close to them
  • This tip mostly applies to later maps after map #3. When doing convoy missions, check which types of vehicles will drive on it, because often they are trucks and SUVs with offroad tires, and you don't really need to make the road perfect in those cases, just remove the debris, etc..
Economy
  • once you unlock construction depot on map #3, you can sell yellow items there... don't bother with tires etc... like 3x big tires give you 650$ only... instead find all the special items on the map, such as forklifts that give 5,000$
  • After you 100% the map you can go sell all your resources to the depot (beams, pipes, etc), and get a nice cash for it...

Note: 12,400$ for 5 pipes and 1 beam. and top right you can see i have no more resources. i sold it all.
  • When crafting pipes etc... bring in the big ticket items, such as old tractors etc... barrels are not worth the hassle
  • For more easy money, you can sell easter eggs for 10k$ each. Check "easter eggs" section for locations.
Easter Eggs
These toy cars are easter eggs and give 10,000$ when you sell them at depot. When you get to the sell area, detach winch or unsecure cargo. You can do these toy cars with scout or truck/crane.

How to build sloped roads for AI
It is possible to build quite nice sloped sand/paved roads in just a few minutes.
.

.
First you have to dump sand in a way that it will mimick the slope. Usually the easiest is from the top and going backwards. Or do it from the bottom going backwards.

Then use dozer on sand flattening mode and start from the bottom. From the top it will not work reliably. And first do one half and then back it down again and do the other half.

If AI struggles to go up the hill, then make it more gradual or pave it with asphalt and they will get more grip.

Bonus road tip:
if you want to abuse magic sand even more, and are building a road close to your base, but no quarry is nearby... and there is another base on the map that has quarry in it? then you can freely teleport between these bases and load/unload sand as you wish. the sand stays in the truck with teleports.
Notes for developers
  • All vehicles with a blade at the front should have an option to do sand flattening. some are wider, some are narrower, but they should all do it.
  • we need hardcore mode, with fuel, damage, etc...
  • cargo is unrealisticly light when using the crane. on map #3 when you go fetch diving container... you can move big 5x10 pieces of concrete with a T1 mule crane like its nothing... dont even need to use crane anchors...
in fact when i went to push them off from the cliff, my truck fell off with them because they were so light that they offered almost no resistence to toppling them over..
  • less rain or give us options to control weather
  • AI trucking routes should have perpetual rewards.... otherwise whats the bloody point

I'm pretty sure dumps always spawn with sand, so no need to teleport between bases if you don't want to. Despawn/respawn in menu of the base you are closest too, removes the refill timer.

Sometimes you need a convoy to reach out destination one time. You can use your heavy track to push the convoy from behind so that it does not stuck and that is it. No need to build a road.

@Bizilux I meant a comparison between the two. Do they take the same amount of material to make one? The beams are easier to transport, but I assume the difference is small enough that it's not worth bringing the trash to the further facility of the two.
