Spring suspension
Pros
  • Cheap
  • Relatively compact
  • Extremely simple
  • Can be made to not be able to bottom out
Cons
  • Can't hold heavy weights
  • Can over extend
Design shown was able to hold 7 weight blocks.




Torsion spring suspension
Pros
  • Cheap
  • Very compact
  • Can hold heavy weights
  • Extremely simple
Cons
  • Prone to bottoming out
  • Can become very bouncy and hard to control on rough terrain
Design shown was able to hold 16 weight blocks.
Complex suspension designs.
Double wishbone suspension
Pros
  • Cool looking
  • Good for high-speed
    and low-speed applications
  • Good for general haulers
Cons
  • Heavy
  • Expensive

Rocker bogie suspension
This is a mars rover style of
rocker bogie suspension
Pros
  • Can hold heavy weights
  • Classic mars rover look
  • Good for low-speed applications
  • Hard to cause a rollover
Cons
  • Heavy
  • Can get very unstable at high speed on rough terrain
