Wouldn't it be magical if there was a list of how each setting impacts my performance, so I don't have to spend hours trying to get the optimal setup? It exists, and better yet, you don't even have to waste time by reading it! Just click on the frame rate you want, and you'll get how high you can push the graphics to keep that frame rate.

I thoroughly benchmarked how every single advanced graphics setting affects your performance and made a calculator to save you hours of setting up the game:
  • How much performance is lost by increasing each setting to any value?
  • What are the options that can be maxed out on any PC?
  • What options should I set if I want at least a given amount of frames, let's say 120?
  • What is the best resolution tradeoff?

This calculator can find basic advice like setting View Distance to Medium and Population Quality to High instead of Ultra is giving you 50% FPS, but it can help you get way more FPS just as easily.

But what if you didn't benchmark on my setup?
Not even remotely a problem! Just run a benchmark ingame, enter the FPS you got, and you are good to go. The Automatic Frame Rate Optimizer is now available, allowing you to ask the calculator: what gets me to the FPS I want, for example, 240?
