Why could she be the Knight?
    Point 1:
  • The Roaring Knight's design appears to have reindeer antlers. This could hint at the Knight being Rudy, or, more popularly, Dess, but... Dess is literally missing, and Rudy doesn't seem in any condition to fight with as much strength as we saw in Chapter 3.
    Point 2:
  • She literally has a freaking katana hanging on her kitchen wall. As well as that, Carol apparently had some paper snowflakes bronzed, which seem to resemble the shurikens that the Knight uses in their attacks.


What is her motive?
  • In Chapter 4, we saw Gerson get reincarnated as a Darkner from a hammer in a glass. Hear me out here.
  • So maybe Carol's so protective over Dess' guitar because she wants to reincarnate Dess as a Darkner too? That's why she created the dark fountain in Chapter 4- to test her theory. Or maybe she's just looking for her in the Dark Worlds, as her whereabouts are currently unknown.
  • I don't know why she would want to cause the Roaring, though. Maybe she didn't know about the part about all Darkners turning to stone? Feel free to use this hole in my theory to argue against me.
  • As for why she created the Chapter 1 and 2 fountains? I dunno, maybe we'll find out in Chapter 5?


In conclusion
  • I think, in reality, Toby Fox will just make the Knight its own seperate character. Think about Ralsei- he is portrayed as some off-brand Asriel doppelgänger, so in the end the Knight will probably be some off-brand Dess doppelgänger.

About the roaring part, it's not like any other theories can explain why their knight would want to cause the roaring either, like why would Dess want to cause the roaring.

I also think that Carol is the knight, my theory is that Dess is lost somewhere in the dark world and she's working with Kris to open the fountains to find her. I really don't see another motive for Kris to be working with her or the knight, I don't think Kris is actually evil.

I don't think the knight is actually trying to cause the roaring. To cause the roaring you would just need to open a bunch of fountains all over the place, but the way the knight is opening fountains is too slow and methodical. There has to be some other motive.

Additionally, when Kris is on the call with who we assume to be the knight, the name of the song that plays is literally "C". Also, after Kris calls to tell them about Susie getting the guitar, the person on the phone says they'll be right there. Who arrives immediately after to take the guitar from Susie? Carol.

lowkey i think it can be, but i feel like she knows about the knight, and helps them. Although, she does say "YOU are always welcome" to Kris after all that stuff we did as the player with the guitar and the phone call Kris was on about. I think it can be prob the mom, dad, or the sister.

A question I always find myself asking is where is Kris's original soul. I know that the Soul in game is not his but the Players. Is it possible for a human to exist using someone else's soul? Questions question questions.

I think the most plausible candidate is Rudy. I think Rudy is the Roaring Knight.

carol is TOO obvious to be the knight. like others said, she comes immediately after kris calls the "knight" about the guitar, seems more like she is working WITH kris and the knight rather then her being the knight. Dess is still the most strong contender IMO
