How to pick up items from merchants
The system itself works like this: you just throw things away from traders and then pick them up

That is, you need to right-click on the thing you want to throw away and press G
Eternal items
You can also get items, save and load this save again. The merchants will have new items.

P.S.
Personally, I don't think this "anomaly" will last long, as it disrupts the entire economy in the game.

Damn this is legit!

They tried to remove an anomaly (the one with negative money that turns into billion), and as a consequence, we got this as an alternative.
