A few things to note first.
Welcome, my little King or Queen. You want to be the ruler with the biggest nuke, or you like a tiny “casual” one? Anyway, I will try to help you.
  • I’ve tested everything without loosing ANY lives. If you wish to sacrifice lives for cards, your results would be better, or less RNG heavy.
  • Game is in EA, all this will be outdated anyway, but core concept may be valid.
  • As I see it now, there is one universal RNG-heavy play, and a king specific not so RNG dependant play. So I will try to add some king specific ones here too, for easy and fast progressions.
  • My screenshots are EXAMPLES, you can get same/better results combining other cards. RNG nature of the game makes every try different, so the core idea is to understand different approaches to the same “universal” outcome.
  • With all this in mind, let’s goooo.
Universal
The main idea is to survive even without using the main base attacks, so you will not be king dependant. Withstand any dmg by maximising hit points or/and stacking “steel coat” buff, while poisoning everything and laughing at enemy killing itself. Focusing greatly improves combos and synergies, and also we can use cards from different decks. I’ve tested it on every king, and you can advance pretty quickly if you know what RNG you are rolling for.

In general 4 card types are enough for this, but it’s okay to combine or add optional ones, with unknown outcome as we climb up the difficulty.
“Defender”
  • This one becomes essential at some point as you choose higher difficulties.
  • Depending on the king you play, I think K7-10+. Till then you can use any tanker unit instead, with unknown success chances.
“Poison Vial”
  • Main synergy card.
  • With this buff our tanker unit will poison everything on hit, 30-50 stacks combined with “venom” decree and/or poison perks will literally kill everything in seconds.
“Library”
  • Main boost card.
  • Needed to maximise buffs.
“Temple”
  • Main OP boost card.
  • 10%, rly? Makes a ridiculous combo with “Overwork” decree. How about 60% HP a year? Oh well, you can spam them to make it 200%+, why not? Not OP, sure.
  • HP focus idea makes it very efficient.
  • Rainbow army or shop specific but in theory is not essential.
  • Greatly expands difficulties you can beat.
Alternate main synergy card.
"Cauldron"
You can use it instead of poison buff to some extent, and also combine it with main base AOE attacks and “venom” decree.
Look at the examples screenshots for more info.
Optional cards.
“Steel Coat”
  • Optional but recommended synergy card.
  • Around 50 of this may or may not make your tanker invulnerable depending on its HP and dmg/poison outcome.
  • May be prioritised if low HP.
“Boar”
  • Optional synergy card.
  • Well, this can greatly power up our tanker, especially with its own forests combo, but is optional.
  • “UPD” With new rainbow perk it is possible to give it 40% HP boost with nature king.
  • Forests can boost boar’s HP while boars will equally boost your main tanker HP, while temples will boost HP of both cards. You got the idea.
“Farm or Procreate”
  • Optional boost card.
  • Procreate is a better option, but farm can be used instead.
“Forest”
  • Optional boost card.
  • Forest is forest but hard to deploy early game, not so good in end game.
  • Useless if you got your hands on temples early.

A few words on other optional combos.
“Carnage”
Explosion on death, good, but not as good as poison tanker.
“Static”
Lightning on attack, see carnage.
Important note about bosses.
Our tanker unit will not deliver enough dmg to bosses. So, if your king’s base is not able to kill it, you can use this tower.
  • The thing is, instead of turning boss in to a rat, it will highly dmg it.
  • Even not upgraded tower will easily kill bosses.
Royal Decrees
“Feast”
  • Twice HP boost, the first one will become essential at some point, to survive early game.
  • Second one is optional, depending on your HP buffs e.t.c.
“Overwork”
  • Great choice with spamming temples.
“Venom”
  • Optional, can be combined.
  • Greatly boosts poison dmg outcome.
Perks, Example, Some thoughts.
  • You can take what you see fit, as you can take almost everything you need using rainbow perks.
  • HP boost is the way to go, re-rolls, additional cards at start, all that helps you survive early game.
Nature king EXAMPLE on K13+ difficulty.

Additional thoughts:

  • The main idea is learning how this cards can boost each other, and choose from re-rolls accordingly.
  • If you don’t have many steel coat buffs, you better avoid king of stone, he can one shot all your tankers with balistas, but even in this case with enough poison you will win, but take care.
  • Try avoiding king of greed, at early game he is rly tough.
King of Greed/Blood specific play or "Zerg them all".
  • Okay, so this is really straightforward. Spamming mercenaries, as some third world king.
  • He makes tons of gold with his castle attack. Oil? Well who knows, but he can buy all the other kings for sure. Spam mercenaries use cemetery, and your kingdom will have more population than China.
  • “Feast” decree will become essential at some point in early game.
  • You can pick some king specific decrees to make even more gold.
  • Try skipping king of stone, as he can nuke your overpopulated mess.
  • King of Blood is very similar.
I am sure you can get the idea from this high difficulty 101 year screenshot.
King of Spells specific "Citadel Mini-gun".
  • King of Spells citadel instant kill perk combined with Universal tankers with ofc spammed temples.
  • King specific decree increasing castle attack speed is recommended.
  • Defenders alone can do the job too, if invested enough.
  • Seem like the fastest and easiest way to complete ALL available difficulties in game.
Special thanks and screenshots of different approaches with my comments.
Special thanks to game developers, you really know how to make hardware suffer with 1fps on day 300, using pixel graphics and a few mb of ssd space.

Thank you for reading, now you are ready to become a true John Snow!

Feel free to post your thoughts in the comments section.
As the game evolve, I will try to add more screenshots here with some thoughts.

Community famous Rat Play, ya funny and all, but sadly not relevant for high difficulties.
  • Plus laggy as hell, use buffs on tanks with much fewer population - same result, more years with no lags.
  • Anyway endless mode right now is a bit pointless, cause you can progress faster than your enemy, but you'll end on first bug or glitch at some point.
The end?
This is the end... At least for now.
