Cheats, Secrets, and a 100% Achievements Guide
By GrumpyArab
My main reason for making this guide, other than the fact that I had quite enjoyed the game, is that it has been a bit difficult for me to find a unified reliable source for getting all the achievements of the newer version of the game. So I gathered the already available information on the internet, added some of my own, and made this guide.

Please don't hesitate to bring my attention to any errors or mistakes, even regarding grammar. English is not my first language and this is only my second guide. Hope you will enjoy it, along with this great game.

This was created for Slender: The Arrival v2.0

Achievements Part 1
Before starting your hunt, make sure that CHEATS are disabled (check the cheats section below). Restarting the game won't disable them. Only manually disabling them will do it. Achievements will NOT UNLOCK if cheats are enabled.

01. Fearless Fun
Riding a Slide in a Horror Game Fixed-width font, preserves spaces
In 'Prologue' (level 1), there is a slide in the backyard of the house. Simply slide on it.

02. I Love Radio
Listen to all of the radio tracks in the house
In 'Prologue' (level 1), there is a radio in the house, near the garage. Keep clicking on it.

03. Master Pianist
Play the piano until the first notes from "No Friends" is played
In 'Prologue' (level 1), there is a piano in one of the rooms, next to the kitchen. Keep clicking on it.

04. Cry Baby
Disrupt Charlie while he's crying at least 3 times
In 'Prologue' (level 1), you will come across a burned house near the end of the level. Find the crying kid inside and approach him. Do this three times (you will have to start the level again). Check this video:

05. Get Me Out of Here!
and
06. Why Am I Still Playing This Game?
Exceed 10 failed pause attempts
Exceed 50 failed pause attempts
You need to press the esc button when Slender Man starts distorting your screen. You'll know that a Failed Pause Attempt is happening when some static appears on screen instead of the pause menu every time you press the esc button. Keep mashing it whenever Slender Man is near. Your first chance will be in 'The Eight Pages' (level 2).

07. Insta-Killed
We're sorry about that... Here's a cookie!
This is an easy one that you should get automatically while playing the campaign. Basically, you need to physically touch Slender Man. The earliest you will be able to do this achievement is in 'The Eight Pages' (level 2). After collecting all eight pages, Slendy will catch and throw you, which should grant you the achievement.

08. Well At Least You Tried
Die in the 'Into the Abyss' level 3 times in a row
In 'Into the Abyss' (level 3), simply die 3 times by either getting jumped on 2-4 times by Katie, or killed by Slender Man.

09. I Escaped?
Escape any level and fall to your death/Slender grasp
You need to glitch and literally "fall" off the map. The easiest location for it is 'Escape' (level 6). You will need to activate cheats (toggledebug), then activate God Mode (see the cheats section below). Run out of the house and keep running straight until you fall off the map. However, just before falling, deactivate cheats (toggledebug). Slender Man will still say that you used cheats to try and escape, but if done right, the achievement will pop. The following video may help better understand my method (my software didn't record Steam overlay but I got the achievement in the video):
For me, this is the best method as it is not an actual bug. Therefore, there is only a slight possibility of it being patched out of the game.

10. Tangled
Get ensnared by Slender Man’s tenticles
In 'The Arrival' (level 8), you will get this easy achievement by simply dying to Slendy's tentacles.
Achievements Part 2
11. Fire Proof
Make it through the forest fire without catching on fire once
You can get this in the forest section of 'The Arrival' (level 8). Even if you don't get it in the first walkthrough, you will probably get it on hardcore, as you will need to be avoiding fire which will kill you much faster on higher difficulty.

12. I'm Free!
Beat the game on normal difficulty
This only works when you finish the game on normal. Unlike most games, you can't get this by finishing the game on hardcore.

13. Fearless
Beat the game on "Hardcore" difficulty
I managed to speedrun through most of the maps with no real difficulty. But I found it a little bit more challenging in 'Into the Abyss' (level 3), and in 'The Arrival' (level 8). The forest section was the hardest. The main differences of hardcore mode:
  • The flashlight can run out of batteries.
  • Stamina drains faster.
  • Your health is lower (you die quicker).
  • Slender Man is more aggressive.
  • In 'Into the Abyss' (level 3), you have to find 6 fuel containers in addition to the 6 generators.
  • In 'The Arrival' (level 8), more paths are blocked by Slender Man and fire.

'Into the Abyss' (level 3) is probably the level most people struggle to finish. Use this guide and image[www.playstationtrophies.org], where possible locations of key items are mapped. This also helps a lot when trying to get the speedrun achievements.

14. Marathon Runner
Surpass 10 000 total steps taken
You will get this naturally while playing the game.

15. Retro Fan
Beat the Genesis level on "Hardcore" difficulty
in 'Genesis' (level 9), you will need to find the pages in 8 out of 10 possible locations (2 random locations will be empty). I found the level to be way easier than the original Slender game. It felt smaller, the terrain easier to navigate and the forest brighter. Use this map (created by Shank) to make things run even smoother:

16. I...I'll just...take this..I guess?
and
17. The Collector I
and
18. The Collector II
Pick up an oversized sign and somehow manage to fit it in your scrapbook
Find all numbered letters
Find all scrapbook items
Watch this excellent video guide for all 50 Scrapbook Items to get those 3 achievements. The video is made for the newer version of the game where more items can be found in 'Homestead' (level 7):

19. Speed Runner I
and
20. Speed Runner II
and
21. Speed Runner III
Beat 'The Eight Pages' level in under 5 minutes
Beat the 'Into The Abyss' level in under 5 minutes
Beat the game in under 45 minutes
Much easier than it sounds. By this point you will be familiar with the layout of the 6 required maps, which are:
  • 'Prologue' (level 1)
  • 'The Eight Pages' (level 2)
  • 'Into the Abyss' (level 3)
  • 'Escape' (level 6)
  • 'Homestead' (level 7)
  • 'The Arrival' (level 8)
Also, Dying and retrying will not count as extra time, so you wont need to restart the map every time you die. And to make things even easier, you can play the levels on easy and replay them as many times as necessary from the Stage Selection screen, as long as you play 'The Arrival' (level 8) last.
Secrets and Cheats
Cheats

These are all console commands. You will need to hit the top left key on you keyboard (` or ~ for English layout keyboards) (in some cases, you need to press Alt+Shift first) and type them there. Also, you will need to enable cheats first by entering the following command: "toggledebug" (type again to disable). As said above, enabling cheats will prevent achievements from unlocking until disabled.

Secrets:

Unlocking 'Memories' (level 5)
This level is not required in order to continue the story, therefore it is easily missed. As shown in the video below, start 'Flashback' (level 4), and soon after leaving the building, you will come across a teddy bear leaning against a tree. Click on it.

Unlocking the secret level
Start a new game and head to the first poster of Charlie you come across (on a tree just outside the front gate). When a text saying "I should keep an eye out" shows up, restart the map (or start a new game).
Do it two more times. On the third time you will return to the main menu. If you click on anything other than "Stage Selection" (which shows 5 locked levels) you will start the secret level. You will not be able to use cheats anymore unless you restart the whole game.

GrumpyArab  [author] 29 May, 2024 @ 1:59am
Yeah probably something to do with the fact that you're playing the updated version.
