Welcome to La Soleil! You may have noticed this this is a visual novel -- a work of fiction using images along with words to describe the action. Like many visual novels, NEKOPARA has many branching paths! The intent of this guide is to assist you, the very good-looking a-purr-eciator of the visual novel format, to reach the many secret endings this game has. Some of them are quite difficult to reach, as not all of them appear as dialogue options! So, without further ado, here is the options required for each of the secret endings.
⌈Neko Baker⌋ ending
The simplest ending of them all. Generally considered the 'default' ending, being the only ending that can be reached solely through dialogue options. This section of the guide will therefore merely tell the correct responses to reach the ending in the order the options arrive, so as to minimise spoilers.

  • I want to be a baker! (This option doesn't matter too much but is useful for reaching other endings.)
  • "Calm down."
  • Mix in the bacon (Also doesn't matter, but this is the funniest scene in my eyes.)
  • Don't open the door
  • "That's impossible!"
  • Retrieve the ⌈Shield⌋
  • ... save the shop!"
  • Reason with Shigure (Note: during this scene, do not click anything but the dialogue option. You'll see why.)
  • "I fight for the sake of Vanilla and Chocola!"

And there you have it. Now that you've seen the 'basic' ending, continue on to the more difficult endings.
⌈Chocolate Hearts⌋ ending
This is the Chocola route. For those who are new to visual novels, or VNs as I like to call them, a 'route' is the path required generally for the sake of having a full romance with a character.

To fulfill this route, you will have to perform a few 'rapid motion triggers', sometimes referred to as QTEs by those who play video games. Therefore, I will recommend saving at certain points as a precaution against failure. As before, this section is ordered in terms of natural events, though suggested saving spots will be located at the start of the sequence in which QTEs occur.

  • (Choose anything for this first option except for the last option. You sicko.)
  • "You should be nicer to Chocola."
  • Mix in the creme de cacao.
  • Open the door
    SAVE HERE
  • Event - Click on Chocola immediately as the intruder enters the room.
  • "That's impossible!"
  • Retrieve the ⌈Shield⌋
  • ... get Chocola to safety!"
  • Hide in the closet.
    SAVE HERE
  • Wait 30 seconds. When the light flashes, get ready to lift the shield.
  • Once the attack is blocked, you will need to mash the block button.
  • "I fight for the sake of Chocola!"
    SAVE HERE
  • At the count of three, throw Rock. If you fail the timing, it's game over.

And there you have it! I highly recommend keeping your save when the game prompts after the credits, as it will help immensely during the true ending. The same is true for almost all other endings except for the ⌈Neko Baker⌋ ending, which you may overwrite freely.
⌈Vanilla Tastes⌋ ending
Next is the Vanilla route which, despite its name, is not as 'vanilla' in its tastes as one might think. Vanilla's route has several puzzle sections which I highly enjoyed myself, despite how tricky they could be. There is also one QTE, which I will warn you about in advance.

  • (As with last time, pick anything except the last option. That's forbidden love!)
  • "I think Vanilla's right."
  • Try a dash of Galliano
  • Don't open that door
  • "That's impossible!"
  • Retrieve the ⌈Hammer⌋
  • ... get Vanilla to safety!"
  • Inspect the back wall of the cellar. Use the hammer on the three red bricks. Be careful not to allow the Noise meter to fill.
  • Proceed left - right - right - up.
  • Drain and fill the chambers in this order: 1 > 3, 2 > 1, 3 > 1, 1 > 4.
    QTE WARNING - SAVE HERE
  • As soon as you hear the sword slash noise, click on Vanilla and then immediately on the floodgate control.
  • "I fight for the sake of Vanilla!"
  • The combination is 3983, corresponding to the XY coordinates of the gems in the grid in the second flood chamber

This is one of my favourite endings, even if I'm not a big fan of Vanilla. Even I can't resist her cuteness in the finale! As always, keep this save for the true ending benefits.
⌈Sweet Bean⌋ ending
Azuki's ending. For English speakers, Azuki's name might stand out as the only catgirl without a fairly English name. Azuki derives from the Adzuki bean, grown throughout East Asia and the Himalayas. In Japan, it is used as the prime ingredient of a jellied dessert know as Yōkan. For more information, check out the wikipedia page. We aren't here for beans, friends!

This route's gimmick is the gift system. Fortunately, Azuki's fairly easy to please. However I'll tell you which gift is the best to give out of the options you are given. No QTEs here, but there is a short RPG-like segment near the end which I recommend saving before (the game will give you plenty of warning).

  • I wanna be a hero! (This option doesn't influence the route so much as it gives you a benefit during the RPG segment)
  • "Calm down."
  • Try some soy milk
  • Don't open the door
  • "I guess it can't be helped!" (Try double-clicking this option. It's not important, but you might just be glad you did!)
  • Retrieve the ⌈Blade⌋
  • ... escape with Azuki!"
  • Gift - Fatty Tuna
  • Escape through the forest.
  • Take the following paths - Left, right, down, right, down
  • Open the chest
  • Gift - Greatsword
  • Prepare for battle! (Selecting 'Surrender!' takes you straight to the game over screen.)
Note - While in the preparation screen, I recommend taking five potions, a shield for yourself and three Tuna Kits for Azuki.

This RPG sequence is a relatively straight-forward boss fight deal. If you selected the right option at the start, you get a bonus to attack. Azuki's Fatty Tuna gift gives her bonus health (while the Calorie Mate actually decreases it!) and the Greatsword's damage greatly makes up for the missed opportunity to use healing magic with the Staff - that's why you have potions. Concentrate on the core of your enemy - block whenever it starts to charge. You do not need to defeat all eight arms to win this fight, but I highly recommend taking down at least the two healing rays when they emerge.

  • "I fight for the sake of delicious tuna!"

After that epic battle, and the amazing finisher, all I can say is how impressed I am by the depth of this game. Yet again, keep your hard-earned finish save close at hand for the true ending.
⌈Cinnamon Donut⌋ ending
This is easily the shortest route, belonging to Cinnamon. It features a lot of dialogue options close to the end -- all of which change very little except for their immediate reactions. I will mark at which point your choices become meaningless to the plot and also my favourite option, for your viewing pleasure.

One QTE and a whole bunch of pixel hunting for this one. Get your reading glasses out, or press your face to the screen.

  • "I want to be a baker!" (This time it actually matters. Any other option will cause this route to fail at a certain point.)
  • "Calm down."
  • Check for a cookbook.
  • When at the book-case, the book you're looking for is the third from the left on the fourth row from the bottom. (For the perverts, there's a dirty mag tucked under the box in the lower left-hand corner.)
  • " ... looking for this magazine?"
  • When looking for the 'secret ingredient', click on Cinnamon's chest.
    QTE AHEAD - SAVE HERE
  • Whenever Cinnamon is looking to the left (she looks that way the longest), pull open one of her buttons. When all four are open, wait until she looks left again to grab the vial.
  • "I was hoping it would be there."
  • Click in this order - Fridge, oven, door, stairs, left door, under the bed, panties

After that point, your choices no longer affect the ending. My favourite option is 'Split it wide open!' during the third set of choices. Yes, tovarich!

That's really it. Possibly the lewdest route, but it's very short. Even the credits in this one are truncated! Remember to keep your save.
⌈Lovely Coconuts⌋ ending
This is Coconut's ending. In my opinion, this is the least interesting route as far as story goes. There are a few QTEs, but not much else. There is a short rhythm game section a few times that is quite fun, however, with some fun songs. The animation for failing some of the beats is pretty hilarious too, so I recommend going through and failing all the songs just for fun when you're finished.

  • I want to be a star! (This triggers a rather different start unique to Coconut's route.)
  • Perform at the night club.
  • "Are you okay, Coco-chan?"
  • "Let's sing this one together!"
    RHYTHM MINI-GAME - SAVE HERE
(Achieving 100% completion on this song will earn you a cute scene with Coconut.)
  • Power up the bass cannon.
    QTE - SAVE
  • FIRE!! (Get ready to mash the Action button!)
    RHYTHM MINI-GAME - SAVE HERE
(Achieving anything less than 75% will skip a short but sexy scene.)
  • "Screw the band!"
  • Flip them off.
    QTE - SAVE

Get ready for a bit of an annoying scene. Jump over the boxes with Action, slide under the falling props with Block and press left and right to avoid screaming fans. Getting hit more than three times will cause you to game over.

  • "I have you all to myself."
    RHYTHM MINI-GAME - SAVE HERE
(This one is quite long. When you think you're finished ... you're not. Keep going until you see that sweet results screen!)

Just as an extra bonus, you get a fairly sexy Coconut pin-up if you get more than 80% on every song. Remember to keep your save.
⌈Maple Syrup⌋ ending
I always found the title of this one to be fairly confusing. Maple's an American breed of cat, but maple syrup is usually associated with Canada ... Oh well. Either way, maple syrup is delicious.

Maple's route is interesting in that it's the only ending apart from the true ending that feature's NEKOPARA's amazing cooking mini-game. Apart from that, it's fairly light in terms of story ... until you hit the end of it. No QTEs apart from those present in the cooking game, but you will have to press on some background features to access the route's dialogue choices.

  • I want to be a baker!
  • In the following scene, press on Maple (third from the left). This triggers her dialogue after a short time.
  • "I've always wanted to travel."
  • Do some cooking with Maple
    COOKING MINI GAME
(This one's just a tutorial - very basic. I don't think it's possible to fail.)
  • Inspect the flyer closer
    COOKING MINI GAME
(I highly recommend starting with the souffle first - it builds your combo gauge quite quickly and makes the following items much easier.)
  • Check your bag one last time
  • "Flattery will get you nowhere."
  • Make a grand entrance (It doesn't matter too much, but this is a pretty cool one.)
  • "We're not scared!"
    COOKING MINI GAME
(Allow Maple to take charge of the hot kitchen, as her AI has a better time dealing with it. Focus on the ice cream the most -- if you achieve the Gold Flake Ice, you've practically won already.)
  • Click on the judge's mic -> click on the robot's speaker
  • "Gattai! Patissiere Maple Robo!"
  • Flick all the switchs on. For this part, you don't even need to let go of the mouse, just click and flail your cursor all over the cockpit.

With that, sit back and watch the fireworks. This is the last save you need to assist you in the true ending.
⌈Precious Sister⌋ ending
Here it is, the one you've been waiting for. Shigure's route. If you've not finished all the other routes, please for the love of all that is kawaii finish them first. This really should be your second last before the true ending! This is the most intense route short of the true ending, so keep a close eye on this guide!

  • I want to be with my sister! (Yes, you finally get to pick it.)
  • After your dialogue option, while Shigure is on screen, shake the window the game is in by moving the windowed game and then releasing it in another spot on your screen. This becomes important, so remember how to do this.
  • "Calm down."
  • Fill the recipe with sugar.
  • Open the door.
    QTE - SAVE HERE
  • As the door opens, do nothing until the intruder attacks you. Click on the knife on the bench and then on the intruder's blade. Get ready to mash Action.
  • "If it's you, then I can forgive you." (If you click on either Vanilla or Chocola during this scene, you will get a game over. You have been warned.)
  • ... I'll leave it all behind."
  • Agree to the contract.

You now have a choice between the girls as a means of sealing your pact. You will have to fight all of them, each in their own unique way. This is my recommended order and strategy.

Azuki -
Equip the ⌈Shield⌋ and prepare at least five potions. A short RPG-style battle occurs. Azuki isn't hard to beat, but she does a fair amount of damage. Just guard when the action command flashes and hit her during recoil.

Coconut -
Select song #2, as it is long enough for her to make errors and short enough for you to have a good chance of success. At the end of the song there is a mashing QTE - just get ready to hit Action. If you beat Azuki beforehand, Coconut will make more mistakes.

Cinnamon -
Whenever Cinnamon clutches her flashlight and looks to the right, she is about to turn around. Stick close to the shadows and move up as quickly as you can to reach her without being seen. Being spotted here is an instant game over, unless you defeated Coconut, in which case she takes longer to see you.

Maple -
Unfortunately no real cooking mini-game. Instead you need to swap out the following ingredients for their counterparts. I recommend acquiring them in the following order to make navigation easier.
Milk > Rancid Milk
Apple Juice > Motor Oil
Flour > Itching Powder
If you defeated Cinnamon, you will have access to the 'Secret Ingredient' option, which allows you to stop Maple's progress for longer than usual.

  • "I did it for you."
  • Show your devotion

... Yeah, that route happened. Keeping this save isn't necessary for the final ending, but keeping this save and re-doing the route triggers some unique dialogue and harder versions of each character's mini-game. Stay tuned for the finale!
⌈Pure Pattissiere⌋ TRUE ENDING
Here it is, folks. The true ending. The full canon ending, the end to trump all true endings. This is the ⌈Pure Pattissiere⌋ ending, baby! Hope you kept all those extra save files, because you're gonna need 'em!

First of all, you need to have completed each and every other route, including Shigure's route and the ⌈Neko Baker⌋ ending. Without them, several options will not become available. However, you do not need to keep the saves for the options to become available. Those are used for the finale! This route has a lovely mix of every other route's mini-games combined in the most masterful of ways and all cranked up to eleven. Here's the entirety of the TRUE ENDING, in the lowest amount of spoilers possible.

  • "I want to be a baker!" (Yes! This finally matters!)
  • During Chocola and Vanilla's quarrel, do absolutely nothing for 2 minutes. You're a chef, not a negotiator!
  • Mix in the Special Ingredient (A new option, you may notice)
  • When you hear the slamming noise at the door, click on the following ingredients in the background in this order: Cake tin, flour, water, eggs, sugar, whisk, oven. Then save, wait.
    QTE WARNING
  • This one actually has a very small window. At the moment the door bursts open, click the oven door, the cake and then the action button. If you succeed, Shigure's murderous wrath is quelled by your cake.
  • "There truly can be no other way!"
  • "Triple ..."
  • "... grande ..."
  • " ... ultimate fantastic ... "
  • " ... Cake of your Dreams!"
SAVE HERE - TIME FOR MINI GAMES (Note, these will only show if you have relevant clear saves for each girl, and all benefit you far more than not doing them.)

First up is a game with Chocola and Vanilla. Shigure cannot be attacked from the front, so you need to position both girls so you can deflect your Icing Shot off their serving trays. This one is fairly straight-forward, just watch out for Shigure's Dark Knife attack -- when that happens, rapidly press Action to parry her.

  • "You've activated my trap! Cakes of Revealing White!"

Next is Azuki's game. Another RPG mini-game, the same as last time, except you face Shigure instead. Despite her small, adorable imoutoness, she's no slouch! Focus on using yourself to heal with your newfound Cake Mix move and use Azuki's Bean Buster to knock her down to size. Shigure tries her Dark Knife attack here too -- you will have to mash Action to parry again!

  • "I summon Neko Swordsgirl, in attack mode!"

Cinammon arrives to assist! Use her to distract Shigure in the turn-by-turn movement and sneak behind her. Send Cinammon immediately north of your position two spaces and yourself left three spaces, set Cinammon to Perv Out and the rest should be fairly clear from there.

  • "Distraction Beam reduces your monster's attack points to 0 until end of turn!"

The spotlight turns to Coconut as the music amps up. This is another rhythm game, but the pass mark for this test is pretty harsh. The beats fly at you fast and hard, so just take it one step at a time and don't lose your cool. Get ready to mash as hard as you can on the freestyle solo at the end.

  • "I use the Bass Cannon's special ability to destroy your Darkness Field!"

Here it is! The mini-game you've been waiting for, the excellent cooking mini-game featuring Maple. In this one, you have to make a great cake. The more tiers you can get on your cake, the better, but you need at least five tiers to pass. Get Maple to work on the heavy lifting (moving ingredients, stirring, etc.) and let yourself do the skill-based tasks. If you achieve the Golden Mecha-Cake, you've made it.

  • "Golden Mecha-Cake, Fuse up with all your heart!"

Time for the final QTE! Ready your Action button, you're gonna need it. When Shigure points her knife to your left, move right and press action as she swings. With her knife to the right, do the opposite. If she holds her knife up to charge an attack, she'll try Dark Knife again! For each clear save mini-game you completed, this mashing challenge will become easier, with every girl helping you to face off against this monster of darkness. With no clear saves, this fight is almost impossible! For the final blow, type in the name of your super finishing move! Really, whatever you like! Mine was 'Fantastic Neko Heart Fusion Extreme Cake Baker Blast'!

And then, for the final option and the most important. Any option other than this, and it's instant game over with a unique game over screen for each.

  • "Above all, I am ... a pattissiere."

And that's the game! Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! Sit back and watch those end credits ... and try not to cry too hard. There's always Nekopara Vol. 2!

Ok so I was seriously looking through some achievement guides before because I booted up Vol 1 and was having issues trying to understand how and where to switch between the language options (I thought it was referring to voice, not overlay language, but apparently not) and I came across this was automatically felt concern that there was actually some form of branching paths in this series, lmao, you troll

This is so cruel ... Eh, if the developers really gave the player the opportunity to make at least some choice. But no, no. No freedom. No different endings. No choice.
