The classic Tomb Raiders... does it get much better than this, gaming-wise? Hardly. I love these games and recently picked them up during the Summer sales... However I quickly noticed the Steam versions of these games are rather glitchy and there are many crashes and bugs. In this short and simple guide, I want to try to help YOU to fix these frustrating issues! Note, that these issues may not fix your situation, but this has worked brilliantly for me.



Tomb Raider Chronicles/Last Revelation fullscreen boot-up crash fix

Description of the issue: This crash normally occurs when you attempt to boot up the game. What happens, is right after the eidos logo and other cutscene, the game immediately stops responding, resulting in a black screen and it's impossible to even shut it down via task manager.

The fix to this may not be ideal but it will ensure your game runs fine. You should not have to mess around with compatibility mode for this game, et cetera. Here is what you have to do;

- Go to your game in Library, right-click it and select Properties.
- On the first property page, click Game launch options
- In that field, simply type in, as is written: -setup
This will make it so that you can access the game's setup menu.
- In the setup, change your resolution to what you like (I did 1600x900 for a VERY specific reason), and make sure to check the "Windowed" box, change NOTHING else and click OK.
- Now boot up your game again just to test if it works - The game SHOULD now be running in windowed mode! If you are happy with the results, make sure to delete the game launch option -setup, otherwise you will be taken to the setup menu each time you attempt to boot up the game.



Tomb Raider Chronicles/Last Revelation "inventory/start menu" crash fix

Description of the issue: Upon pressing the inventory or start menu hotkey, you get the error message "the game has stopped responding" - resulting in the game to shut itself down.

Now I presume that you are already running the game in windowed mode, but we will be doing something similar to fix this "new" issue. Here is what you have to do:

- Go to your game in Library, right-click it and select Properties.
- On the first property page, click Game launch options
- In that field, simply type in, as is written: -setup
This will make it so that you can access the game's setup menu.
- In the setup, change your resolution to 1600x900

I did some tests, and this resolution seems to ensure that the game looks as good as it can get without causing this inventory glitch/issue. This SHOULD also fix the glitch where the graphics are not displaying correctly in the inventory screen.



If you are still having issues with any of this, you can try to set the compatibility mode for these games to Windows XP Service pack 3.
