Achievement Guide

Hello there, fellow soilders, its been a while, but its here, Metal Slug (the very first one) is now on steam, and what's better than to do a simple, yet effective achievement guide, which, if with enough skill and determination, you can get all of the achievements within an hour or so.

Note: Before we start, I suggest configuring your stuff first on the "Settings" (or Options, as I would call it anyways) if this is your first time running MS on steam, controls being first priority (auto-fire should be turned "On" if you wish, cause it'll help you lots), and other settings (Audio and/or Video) to your liking.

Anyways, once everything's set, start the game either in "Main Misson" and/or "Multiplayer", choose your difficulty/credits (best if set on easy if you're looking to 1CC), start the game, and then "Blast away and go, go go!" (Quote line based on the old instruction marquee seen most often on the Neo-Geo MVS arcade machines.)

Mission/Boss Achievements:

Playing through Missions 1 through 6 and completing them within any difiiculty will award you all the mission specific achievements, and in order of appearance...TETSUYUKI, HAIRBUSTER RIBERTS, TANI OH, SHOE & KARN, IRON NOKANA, and the final boss. HI-DO.

Grinding Achievements:

A quick note on these grinding achievements, they don't all have to be done on 1 entire playthough as you'll still earn them within multiple playthoughs.

For 200 TOMBS & 1000 TOMBS, the 200 you'll get with ease somewhere around the later half of the game, 1000 however will take 2 playthoughs, since you'll get around (I guess) 700+ from the first playthough, and you can get the rest on the second playthough.

For BOMBER & KING OF BOMBERS, you'll get them relatively easy, as there are many bomb pickups you'll earn through the game, as long as you're on foot and not in the slug however. Throw them out through the many opposition and legion of soilders, machinery, and bosses, and you'll get them in no time.

For RESCUE & KING OF RESCUE, you'll find many POW's within all 6 stages, some you can find out in the open, majority of them are hidden, shoot specific spots in certain areas to reveal them. In 2P co-op, there are more POW's you can get than in 1P mode.

Miscellaneous Achievements:

To get the METAL SLUG ATTACK, start the game on easy in Mission 1, collect enough bombs, be in the Metal Slug, once you reach the boss, drop about 13-15 grenades while in the tank, once its weakened, press the Shoot+Jump buttons simultaneously (at the same time) and it'll explode to deal enough damage to the boss. Here's a visual for how to do the "Metal Slug Attack".

To get the TEAMWORK achievement, it requires you and either from anyone on your friends list or (good luck finding) a random player to start the game in online co-op. Local Co-op does not work, I've tried.

To get the MISSION ALL COMPLETE, however, will take some skill, best if done on Easy difficulty, but this can also be do-able on Normal too if you have the skill. Tread through all 6 missions carefully and effiecently, as you only have 3 lives to get though the entire game. (Note: The achievement has to be done from the start of mission 1 to the end of misson 6, no shortcuts this time around. Credit goes to "Leon [BR]" for mentioning it.)
