Introduction
The game hasn't been out that long, so it would be a real shame if people spoil everything right away. So each spoiler has one "slight hint" and one "give away" hint in a style similar to the original Kings Quest hintbook.

Do not read this unless you are seriously stuck, the game is by all accounts much easier than the original KQ games due to having no dead-ends, so if- in-doubt, try-something-out.

There are a few fake-hints thrown in, thus only read the hints you are stuck on. This is not a straight-up walkthrough as there are several solutions to each puzzle. The goal of the "Quest" series of games is not to find the fastest way to clear the content, but to naturally figure out a solution.
Well figure this out yourself
Hey, there's this well, what do I do with it?
  • What do people normally do with a well? What comes up must come down.
  • You can climb down the well if you lower the bucket

Graham means Well
The Dragon's cave is mostly a series of QTE events, and does not involve any inventory objects.

Q) I keep dying during the QTE (Quick Time Events)
  • There is a "solid" and a "flashing" version of the keys to press. Flashing means hammer on the key.

Q) I keep dying during events that use the bow.
  • Use the analog controls (gamepad) or the mouse for better precision
  • Most of the time the bow is already aiming at the right spot and you just need to fire

Q) Why are there so many beds?
  • What if you wanted to take a quick nap?
  • The bed is a hiding spot

Q) How is the dragon fed?
  • Let the dragon know it's feeding time
  • The meat will land on the RIGHT or the LEFT, you want to make the dragon move away from the treasure

Q) How do I get rid of the dragon?
  • Throw a bucket of Water on him. Oh wait wrong Kings Quest game.
  • You could shoot the bell and Trick the dragon
  • You could shoot the Chain, and set the dragon free, and may have reprocussions later
  • You could shoot the Dragon and it may have reprocussions later

Also try:
  • What happens if I take the direct approach and walk right up to the Dragon?
A Knight to Remember: Graham arrives in Daventry
There are multiple solutions to some of the puzzles, and solving one puzzle a certain way will gate alternate solutions from being simultanously used.

Q) How do I cross the river?
  • If a tree falls in the woods...
  • Perhaps you could make a bridge
  • There is a hatchet in the toolbox
  • Use the hatchet from the toolbox you found in the tree at the bottom of the hill on the tree to closest to the river

Q) How do I get into town?
  • Have you tried the door?
  • How sturdy do those vines look?

Q) The Guards won't let me out of town
  • Well they are doing their job then!
  • Maybe there is something you should be doing while the Guards backs are turned
  • Search the shops, perhaps there is something useful

Q) I talked to the merchant and he wants a wheel, where do I find one?
  • Anything round will do
  • There is one round object in each shop
  • There is one round object in each shop, remember to pay for the one you use

Q) What makes the best wheel?
  • It's all a matter of opinion
  • The Bread might also work as a snack
  • The Shield might be expensive
  • The Table is neither expensive or edible
  • The consequences of which object you take and if you pay just changes the dialog. It is not possible to take all three at the same time

A Knight to Remember: Theatrics
The next puzzle is linear in nature and each step can be repeated until solved. Reveal a clue only if you are unsure of what to do next.

Q) How do I get across the river to the Theater, The guards are in the way!
  • Have you tried talking to the Guards?
  • The Guards don't seem that busy, perhaps you can entertain them
  • Graham can't swim
  • Graham can purposely jump in the river, and the Guards will abandon their post
  • What's bugging the Guards?
  • Dropping the Bee nest on them will distract the Guards and you can then try something else.

Q) How can I get across the river to the Theater now?
  • Have you tried building a bridge again?
  • Have you tried chopping down a tree to form a bridge?
  • Have you tried making a rope bridge bridge?
  • Have you tried making a raft with the axe, tree and the rope?

Q) How do I learn the contestants names?
  • Have you tried asking them?
  • The big-guy isn't very fond of the show-off
  • The little guy knows the big guy's secret
  • The show-off will not talk to you until you find his name from the big guy

Q) What are the correct answers for the test of Chivalry
  • Oh you can't seriously expect a hintbook to spell this out for you
  • If you've talked to all 4 contestants, then it's a process of elimination, as each contestant is used as an Answer once.
  • The archer speaks a foreign language
  • The show off has a long name
  • The big guy has a secret Princess

5) Is Manny a villain? Can I trust this guy?
  • Let's just say this guy intentions are less than noble
  • His true heart is shown when you finally challenge him

A Knight to Remember: Challenge 1 - An Eye for an Eye
The next puzzle has a different outcome depending on which puzzle you solve first.

The "eye" puzzle involves getting a beast's eye. There is more than one solution, and doing one solution gates off other solutions.

Q) Do I have to do these challenges in a specific order?
  • Yes. They are gated, so don't worry if it seems like you're getting ahead of yourself.
  • There appears to be a bunch of missing bridges
  • Dark places are dangerous without a light
  • The way to a beast's heart is through their stomach

Q) How do I get an eye?
  • Eye see what you did there.
  • Perhaps a certain bridge troll has an idea
  • This involves buying a pie
  • The bridge troll will try to get you an eye from a notorious beast, but one of the other
knights will take it before you get to it.

  • The bridge troll will try to get you an eye from the notorious beast again, but the other knight will take it before you get to it again.
  • Maybe the Bridge Troll can give the Guard the stink eye.
or
  • Eye know what you are going to do next summer
  • Don't you know where a certain dragon should be already?
  • This involves buying the gardening tool from the blacksmith
  • If you follow the archer down the well, to get an eye, then Graham will end up with an eye, regardless of actions taken down the well
or
  • Here kitty kitty, whoa, not a kitty...
  • What if you misappropriate a certain trap's bait?
  • Use the steak to lure out a certain beast.

Regardless of which eye you go for, the other two solutions are still available for a different puzzle.
A Knight to Remember: A Bridge too far
The following puzzles have to be solved to do the Strength challenge, but can be solved as part of the Beast Eye quest.

Q) How do I start the Strength Challenge?
  • Have you noticed the missing bridges?
  • You need all 3 bridge horns, otherwise you won't win.

Q) How do I cross the first bridge?
  • Maybe a fellow troll can help
  • The troll has a sweet tooth
  • Pie is the solution to everything

Q) How do I get something sweet
  • Graham knows all about trading for food, who else would know?
  • The baker needs a few ingredients to make a pie.
  • Have you checked where the ingredients grow?
  • Mushrooms grow near traps
  • Fruit grows on trees clearly not on a floating island

Q) How do I get the fruit?
  • There may bee more than one solution
  • Isn't there a tool for doing this?
  • You can use the Fruit picker
  • You can use the Fruit picker, found to the left of the garden scene, it can't be acquired until the Knight stops using it
  • or You can do what bears do and just shake the tree, this will have consequences

Q) How do I do the Secret Troll Guild Handshake
  • This is a QTE event and you only get one chance to do it right. Remember that "flashing" means to hammer on the button.
  • If you do it right the first time, you won't need to do it again to enter the Troll meeting. As someone will vouch for you.

Q) How do I cross the second bridge?
  • The bridge trolls are summoned using their horns
  • You're a bridge troll too? Maybe you should take your horn when you leave

Q) Where do I find "my horn" for the Troll guild meeting?
  • Silly goose, you don't have a horn
  • There is a tiny bell that you can use
  • There is a tiny bell that you can use, it's near the sign with the challengers photos

Q) What's the password?
  • Perhaps you should wait for someone to show you
  • You need to create a shortcut and summon the first bridge and then go listen at the door in when he comes back

Q) How do I find a shortcut?
  • What path has been less taken?
  • Take the other path and go through the dark scary woods

Q) How do I "create" a shortcut?
  • What path has been less taken?
  • Go through the darkness
  • Once at the bottom, there is a ladder in one of the holes

Q) How do get a lamp so I don't die in dark places?
  • Isn't there a shop in town?
  • They will make you one if you can provide something that can be hollowed out

Q)How do I get the pumpkin?
  • Gotta do something about those vermin (there was a clue)
  • Perhaps chase them away with a nastier animal.
  • Have you played with the kitty in the bushes?
  • Maybe lure the creature in the bushes with some bait?

Q)How do I get the a work order, I don't have 50 gold?
  • Maybe you can find one
  • There is one in the dark forest

Q) How do I cross the third bridge?
  • She's going to burn the bridge horns, you might suggest something else
  • Hypnotic powder requires raisins, now where could you possibly find those.

Q) How do I acquire Hypnotic Powder?
  • Isn't there a curiousity shop in town?
  • They are waiting on a delivery, now where did that delivery guy go to after you got him a wheel?

Q) How do I cross the 4th bridge?
  • Hey you're right, wasn't there four bridges in Kings Quest I?
  • You're the 4th bridge troll. You get to make a few temporary bridges. The original Sierra games hintbooks had fake hints referencing other games. Of course there's no 4th bridge to fix. The debris accross from the mill is a red herring.

A Knight to Remember: All's well that ends well
Q) How do I get to the well? There are brambles in the way.
  • Who owns something cool that shreds things?
  • Ask the blacksmith what you can get for one gold coin

There may be more than one solution to getting to the well.

The Dragon's cave sequence down the well can not be described spoiler-free. It's pretty obvious what you are supposed to do, and is a callback to the opening Dragon's cave sequence. This sequence gates being able to reach the goblin area.

If you do this sequence during the beast eye quest, Manny will "help" you with it. If you do this quest after the Beast Eye quest, you will be asked to find "that other contestant that didn't come back", and the cutscenes will be slightly different reflecting the quest in progress.

A Knight to Remember: Challenge 2 - The test of Strength
Q) How do I actually win the Strength Contest?
  • A troll be stronger than any puny human
  • You need the 3 horns for the bridge trolls, and you need to trip the combatant over his own wool by tugging on it using criss-crossing lines.

Once you win the Strength Contest, it will then be possible to get your steed for the Speed contest.
A Knight to Remember: Challenge 3 - The speed contest
Q) How do I get my ride down?
  • Nobody likes a sore loser
  • Give back the sock after winning the Strenght Contest, and then ask nicely

  • or Use the work order on the tree, which will allow you to do the Speed challenge before the Strenght contest

The speed contest is an QTE Arcade sequence much like the Dragon Cave sequences and can't be described spoiler-free. This sequence gates being able to access the final challenge.

A Knight to Remember: Challenge 4 - A test of wits.
The Test of wits is gated by completing the speed Challenge

Q) How do I get into the final contest?
  • There's a bunch of cuddly woodland creatures who want revenge
  • Maybe their princess will accept a pastry too
  • The Baker will give you a free pastry if you can find him yet another missing ingredient

Q) How do I move the large rock?
  • If you can't move it, maybe someone else can blow it up?
  • If you had a work-order for it, maybe you could have the blacksmith blow it up
    or
  • Don't you know someone who's very strong?
  • If you do not have the work order, or have already used it, Acorn will move it for you

Q) How do I resolve the Bridge Troll strike?
  • What would dampen the feeling of being walked on?
  • Those socks be good for something

Q) How do I catch a frog?
  • Did you drop your golden ball? Whoops wrong Kings Quest game
  • YOU do not, Another sore loser does
  • The show-off will catch a Frog for you if you let him sign his own photo

Q) How do I complete the final challenge?
  • The final challenge can be won without cheating by you or Manny,
  • If you completed the color-change potion you can also just neutralize Manny's cheating, you can also reverse it and use Manny's cheating against him.
  • You'll be prompted by Gwendolyn if you really did cheat.
  • The easiest solution I've tried is by making sure Manny's piece is never in position to fire at you, if he turns his piece, you need to block it with another piece. He gives hints if he is winning or losing by his comments. If he makes a "uh oh" type of comment then you've got a winning move.

17) Who do I pick to complete the story?
- It's up to you, do what your heart tells you to do.
Achievements
It is possible to get most of the Achievements on the first play-through.
  • Did you remember to talk to the Blacksmith and keep the door locked when you leave by the back
  • Did you pick the fruit with the fruit picker instead of knocking the bee nest down?
  • Did you complete the color-changing potion?

A few other achievements may require a separate play-through by picking alternate solutions to puzzles.

You can get everything on one playthrough, just 1. feed a wolf , then 2. catch and paint a badger then use it to eat the bees , then 3. use the fruit picker to get rid of the bees nest.
