Introduction
Desperado
Finish the Clarendon level without dying

So if you were like me, you've finished Type:Rider, finished the bonus level, and at the end you've got all the achievements but one: "Desperado". You tried relentlessly to get it but, for one reason or the other, you just died at some point of the level. Then you rage-uninstalled and hid the game from your library to hide your shame.

Firstly I highly recommend you to try it legit. Give it at least 1 hour of tries then come back full of rage and despair, and only then proceed with this guide.

Now, come. Succumb to the dark side, let the 100% stat seduce you. You might be feeling not too well, but fear not, for I have the easy way for you, all we gotta do is to rename some files in the game's folder.

But that's cheating!
Yes, oh despicable me. I don't normally condone this kind of thing, but desperate times call for desperate measures... you're welcome to post "cheater enabler" in the comments section below, anyway. I still believe that the actual cheater here is that crosshair hunting you in Clarendon, hunf.
How does this work?
So there's this quirky little thing about some games created on Unity that present their levels numbered from level0 to levelX on their folder, depending on how many levels the game has, being the first ones usually the menu screen, options, intro and etc. Some Unity games on Steam are like that, some aren't.

The point is, by making a copy of one of those files, e.g. level3, and renaming it to, let's say, level5, when you get to the point where the game loads the level5, it will actually load level3's content. And some games don't cover for this kind of exploit when pertaining to Steam achievements and, guess what, Type:Rider is one of them! So basically the way its code triggers achievements allowed the creation of this guide.

So all you need to know is which files correspond to the Clarendon level, those being 4 in total, one for each part: level26, level27, level28, and level29.
How do I do it?
Firstly, get to the game's data folder:
.\Steam\steamapps\common\Type Rider\TypeRider_Data
You can easily get there by right-clicking Type:Rider in your library, clicking Properties, opening up the "Local Files" tab and clicking the "BROWSE LOCAL FILES..." button.

Once there, go inside the TypeRider_Data folder and make a backup of the Clarendon files, which are levels 26 to 29. In the image below I chose to simply move those files to another folder.

Then, create 4 copies of the level10 file, and rename them to level26, level27, level28, and level29. The next image might be confusing, but take notice of the files' sizes (they're all the same)

Having made the changes, run the game, navigate the hub to Clarendon (or to Gothic and go from there), select its first part and play the tutorial in its instead. Sneaky sneaky. Do it four times and you'll be done with this achievement in less than 2 minutes.

The level10 file is the third part of the tutorial level Origins, which I found to be the simplest and shortest one to rush through. However, there's still a way to die in it, even if it's quite hard, so just keep running to the right. If you really, really want to be on the safe side, you can use the first part of the tutorial instead (level8), which has no death hazards, but you're gonna have to sit through the opening credits each time.
How does this affect me?
Well, you'll go from...

Closing notes
There we go. If this guide has helped you out, don't forget to rate it. And if there is any way that I can make it clearer, do comment.

thanks for the guide, but as I have already 100%-ed the mobile version of this game, I think I will keep trying until I get it legit, no matter how many hours it takes.

for the mobile version, I actually had to uninstall and reinstall the game at one point because one of the levels was lagging and glitching so much I couldn't get one of the ampersands.

:lunar2020thinkingtiger:

I feel absolutely no regrets for using this guide - that level is more stress-inducing than all three dark souls on NG+7 combined, thanks to the platformer gameplay with physics and collision detection of a Goat Simulator, ported onto Gamebryo engine.

Thanks for the guide.
