Challenges List and Tiers
By RegaliaRemix
Fairy Fencer F, Idea Factory's other game had this feature, but now we also get this in Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3. Each playable character is rewarded stat points, plans, extra combo, leader skills, and all other "goodies" when you do certain things inside and outside of battle. This guide lists all challenges, what you have to do and how many times you have to perform them in each tier. I also took the time to analyze each leader skills because they are quite an amazing addition to this game and allows you to make your party even more versatile.

Nothing changed since the Vita version so it's all the same, but if you haven't played that version, feel free to consult this guide. Good luck and happy Nep Nep Nepping everyone. ^_^

Frequently Asked Questions
1. How do you use the z-axis once you unlocked the Keeping the Peeping Down plan?
Press the middle mouse button or wheel. Make sure to hold it down and move the mouse up or down, not the wheel itself if it's a mouse wheel. Moving the mouse up allows you to view your character's z-axis from the bottom, and down for the top view.

2. Some of these challenges are too insane to grind. Are they worth it?
Not really other than getting some extra plans and stats. All characters' level 999 stats are the same as Re;Birth 1 and 2 without the stats earned from the challenges. These just give your characters a little extra kick for end-game content and are not mandatory to make them functional.

3. Does running away and Destroy Symbols/Symbol Gains halt my challenge progress?
No. Challenges such as Victory Spotlight, Bore Chore, Killing Girl, Intrusive Girl, Shy Girl, All By Myself and EXP Thief still give you credit even when you run away or use Destroy Symbols/Symbol Gains plans.

4. What is a leader skill?
Once you learn it for a character, they give themselves and other party members special power ups when you set them as "LEADER" on the menu. There are some limitations such as leader skills only working for Humans/Makers or only CPUs.

5. What is All Up Plan? HP Up Plan?
A plan that raises all your character's stats: STR, VIT, INT, MEN, AGI, TEC, and LUK. All Up 1, 2, and 3 all give +100 to all these stats making it +300 total per character. HP Up is +500 HP for every plan, and there's 3 for each character for a total of +1,500 HP bonus HP.

6. Are the challenges character exclusive?
Yes. For example, if you got the Keeping the Peeping Down plan for Neptune, you have to get the Tier 2 I Love Gravity challenge for the other characters too if you want the plan for them.

7. I am Level 999 already, is it still possible to get Tough Stuff and Meat Shield even when I'm all overpowered and endgame geared?
Yes. You can find a monster that inflicts poison and the damage taken counts towards these challenges. You can also remove your characters' defense gears so they take more damage. Note that you only need a character to take more than 50% of their HP as damage every battle for Tough Stuff.

Until You Cry
Challenge involving characters' total hit counts. Note that if a move has some sort of Area of Effect (AoE), you can multiply your hit counts easily by hitting multiple enemies at once. Example: An 8-hit rush combo hitting 3 enemies at once gives you 24 hits towards the challenge's progress.

Tier 1: 100 Hits: STR+2

Tier 2: 20 times: AGI+4
Tier 3: 40 times: AGI+5
Tier 4: 80 times: AGI+5

Tier 7: 500 times: AGI+8
Tier 8: 1,000 times!!!: AGI+100
Tough Stuff
Probably the most confusing challenge of all since its description is vague in-game. You can't just sit on red HP and fight battles... You need to actually lose the HP EVERY battle. If a character took more than 50% of her HP total in a battle, even if it's healed afterwards, you will get credit towards this challenge.

Tier 1: 10 times: Menu Voices

Neptune - HDD SP Down - Reduces HDD Transformation cost by 100 SP (50% Reduction). This does not include Awakening!

Nepgear - HDD Shares+ - Raises all CPU party members' hidden stats even more based on the number of Share they have in their nations. e.g. With Planeptune at 80% shares, this makes Neptune and Nepgear insanely powerful!
Note: Peashy and Plutia are considered Planeptune CPUs.

Plutia - Lightning DEF+ - Raises lightning element resistance

Tips on Grinding the Challenges Efficiently (Part 1)
This section is a collected info of all tips and suggestions I can give on how to grind these challenges efficiently. Feel free to PM me if you know other methods and I'll give your name a mention!

First off, let's divide each challenge grind methods into 4 different categories and note which challenges belong to what method. Some challenges may belong in more than 1 method:

1. Battle Only Method = Challenges in this category require you to ACTUALLY BATTLE and perform the following actions. You cannot get any counts for these challenges with destroy symbol/symbol gains or running away. Challenges in this category include:
- Special Girl
- Take Your Meds!
- Pass the Baton
- Meat Shield
- That's So Nice!
- Until You Cry
- Tough Stuff

2. Destroy Symbols Method - By activating both Destroy Symbols and Symbol Gains, you can finish off enemies instantly with a symbol attack as long as you outlevel them greatly and a random character strikes their winning pose and reward you with EXP/Credit/Items. This method is loads more efficient than Battle Only method for some challenges. Challenges that benefit from this include:
- Symbol Queen
- All By Myself...
- Intrusive Girl
- Shy Girl
- Killing Girl
- EXP Thief
- Victory Spotlight
- Bore Chore

3. Run Away Method - Special thanks to My1 for this. Notably faster than Destroy Symbols Method for some challenges as running away keeps the monster on the field and you don't have to wait for them to respawn. Challenges that benefit from this include:
- It's Not A Loss!
- Symbol Queen (turn off Destroy Symbols)
- Intrusive Girl
- Shy Girl
- All By Myself
- Until You Cry (grind this challenge on tough enemy, and when they are about to die, just run away)

4. Field/Dungeon Only - This category is exclusive to challenges that don't require you to battle and just performing actions in the dungeon such as:
- Marathon Runner
- I Love Gravity
- Three Second Rule!

Exclusive Challenge Tips
This section is more dedicated in analyzing each challenge and giving specific tips/tricks on how to grind them faster.

Marathon Runner - Possibly the longest challenge in the game. You probably won't even get close to getting someone to 500,000m in your entire playthrough of this game if you are just aiming for all characters' leader skills and the amount required to max someone's Marathon Runner challenge is 5 FREAKING MILLION meters for +1 MOV. It is simple to do but it just takes forever and can vary depending on your game's FPS. Low FPS/Laggy computer obviously will make this challenge a living hell for you.
- This challenge is not worth grinding while you are "awake". This is one of those challenges that you do while you are AFK.
- This is not possible with a keyboard/mouse unless you can do some serious key binding/macroing/auto hotkey shenanigans.
- The "taped" controller method - Basically involves rubber banding/tapping the left and right analog stick in the same direction so you would run in circles. Note that you don't get any credit by running into a wall. You need to be moving and your screen/background is changing or in this case, rotating.

I Love Gravity -10,000 jumps is a lot for maxing this Challenge but the TEC+100 is freaking awesome and might help you beat those crazy tough bosses early by allowing you to actually hit them consistently.
- Turn off Jumping Star Plan. What goes up must come down and if you are jumping too high, it takes longer to come down obviously...
- N Box method - Go underneath one of those N Mario Boxes and start jumping like mad. Reason: Your jump is halted by the box thus you don't go up all the way and it reduces the time it takes for you to come down. You are still given the jump count even when you hit the box!!!
- Extra Info: With the N Box method, tall characters like Vert and Mina almost never jump more than a couple feet and it's much easier to grind this challenge for them.

Symbol Queen - Successful Symbol attacks only. A character swinging their weapon and connecting = successful.
- If you touch an enemy when you have Guaranteed Symbol Attack plan on, it may say "Symbol Attack" in battle, but this DOES NOT COUNT towards Symbol Queen.
- The "Run Away" method above is much more efficient than Destroy Symbols method as it keeps the enemy alive and you can symbol attack them again!

Three Second Rule! - Picking up items whether they are the light blue item boxes or the blue ? harvest item boxes will give you credit for this. Max is just 350 so it's not too bad.
- If the dungeon has 2 areas, rezoning from one area to another respawns the harvest item boxes!
- Find a map with lots of harvest spots. The second area of the "volcano" map layouts have several harvest spots within close proximity of each other.

All By Myself... - Has one of the All Up Plans and easily achieved with 60 encounters. Maxing it out is at 140 battles which is also not a lot.
- First off remove all your characters until you only have your leader.
- Use the "Run Away" method for this if you want to do it faster.
- EXP Thief is credited to those you removed but only if you are doing the "Destroy Symbols" method.

Intrusive Girl/Shy Girl - I put them in the same category because they are pretty much identical except the stat gains. Intrusive Girl has a Tier 7 that gives an HP Up plan but it won't be easy. 15,000 encounters is A LOT. Max Tier is 30,000 ENCOUNTERS!!! Note that you don't have to win these so you can use the "Run Away" method.
- There's really no way to shortcut this other than the "Run Away" method.

EXP Thief - It has synergy with All By Myself... if you decide to use Destroy Symbol method.
- Find a dungeon easy to navigate and has a lot of enemies.
- Start hacking away with Symbol Attacks with Destroy Symbol/Symbol Gains on with just 1 character, your Leader. Every character you benched (not active) gets credited towards this challenge.

It's Not A Loss! - Run away! Duh.... need I say more?
- Run Away method. Reminder that you will not get credit if you have the 100% Escape plan ON.

Take Your Meds! - Get ready to visit the shop often if you are grinding this challenge. Buy 99 of every consumable item if you can so you'll have less trips in between.
- Enter a battle and just start using those items up. There's no shortcut to this. Start eating up the first item on your list until it gets to 0 and work your way down.
- Equip some discs with Bullet Hell and partner up with characters with Cooldown Reduction like IF and CyberConnect2 so you get more turns.

Special Girl - Tier 2 is really all that's worth getting. Gives bonuses to MEN but MEN is not a useful stat in this game as most enemies resort to physical attacks...
- Use low SP cost skills like buffs.
- As long as the skill is executed successfully, it doesn't matter if it heals or buffs someone who is full or already buffed...
- Restock your SP items often.

Pass the Baton - Switch, switch, switch! That's all you need to do.
- Like Take Your Meds!, the key to this challenge is getting the most turns possible, so equip Bullet Hell discs and Cooldown Reduction partners.

Killing Girl - 50,000 enemies is insane!!! What is this? A Dynasty Warriors game?
- Like EXP Thief challenge, just start hacking away enemies with symbol attacks using the Destroy Symbols/Symbol gains method. It's faster this way than battling them.

Meat Shield - If you are at end game, this is one of those "gimme" challenges. 1,200,000 HP damage is easily met as end game enemies can easily pound 20-40k HP per attack and even at your entire party.
- To maximize this challenge, you can just remove your defensive gears so you take the most damage possible. Careful not to die and waste resurrection items though.
Tips on Grinding the Challenges Efficiently (Part 2)
That's So Nice! - It has good synergy with Meat Shield. Every time someone gets beat up really hard, just heal them up. 500,000 HP isn't a lot
- % HP recovery items are more effective in endgame when everyone has 50-70k HP.
- Best saved for endgame when your enemies are also strong and can hit you for massive damage so you can heal up more amounts.

Until You Cry - This challenge has varying amounts of difficulty. 10,000 is needed for that amazing All Up Plan and 50,000 to max out this challenge. Cave easily breezes through this challenge because of all her multi hit SP skills and the decent SP return on those skills gives her an easy time to spam infinitely but others will struggle a bit on this one.
- Skill usage is faster than Rush attacks but requires extensive use of items and much more expensive to maintain.
- Auto SP recovery discs are recommended for this challenge to alleviate the cost of SP items.
- Use 1x3 range weapons so you can hit many enemies at once if you decide to just Rush Attack them. Use rush attacks with the most hits obviously.

Victory Spotlight - Tier 5 has that nice Combo Slot Plan and it's only 100 victory poses.
- Destroy Symbols method. From this method, the one posing is random if your party is full but you can always just put the leader by herself if you want to grind for 1 specific character.

Bore Chore - What you need to know about this challenge: "0" damage is still damage. "Miss" is not damage.
- Destroy Symbols method. All front row characters get this which makes it 4x faster with a full party.

Tough Stuff - The most time consuming challenge to grind for just because you can't AFK with this like Marathon Runner.
- A character needs to lose 50% or more of their HP from the battle and win! If you are grinding for a specific character, if they strike their victory pose like they have struggled a bit (example: RED falling down on her butt, most girls holding their arms like they have been severely injured), then you got credit for the challenge.
- It is attainable by front row characters and even back row characters if you switch them!
- This is easier to grind in end game or when you are fighting an enemy much tougher than you.
- Poison method - Find an enemy that can poison you and just let your HP deplete until you lose 50% or more of your HP already then finish them off.

And that concludes the challenge walkthrough!!!

Feel free to comment or make suggestions on the guide especially if you know any more shortcuts/tips on how to grind specific challenges much easier (without the use of hacks or cheat engine)! Thanks again Steam and IF for bringing this game for us to enjoy!

RE: It's Not A Loss!
While having the plans on keeps you from earning # times towards the challenge, having the Godly Game disc "Kamaitachi no Yoru" with it's 100% chance of escape on a character does let you count towards it.

Rather nice to rack up All by Myself and Not a Loss together.

Here's a simple AHK script I've created for running around in order to complete challenges in Fairy Fencer F:

Maybe it can help someone with Marathon Runner.

First and foremost, thanks for this guide!

"If the dungeon has 2 areas, rezoning from one area to another respawns the harvest item boxes!"

For me, it only respawns those "mario" N invisible boxes, which doesn't count for "Three Second Rule" (even if it contains an item, just tested this)

Like to make a brief note. You do have (limited) Z-axis control even for characters that don't have the Keep the Peeping Down plan. It's just restricted in arc range -- you can only pan down about 2 degrees (as opposed to about ~40 degrees down with the plan active).

Thanks for this great guide man, really helped a lot! One thing to mention, though. As has been said before,in my experience, too, getting hit for 0 dmg actually doesn't count as damage and you still get credit for bore chore.

i was wondering though: is there any achievement to be had for doing these?

Destroy symbol will not add to the kill count, only by killing an enemy in battle will it add to the kill count. Also destroy symbol does not help trigger All by myself challenge when you just destroy without entering battle as well as exp thief for those not in the party. Finally, the intrusive/shy girl count will not increase with destroy symbol.
