Disable Mods
First, please disable all mods you may be using to be sure that mods are not responsible for the crash/problem. We can't fix problems caused by third party mods, unfortunately.
System Requirements
Please check to make sure your system meets at least the minimum system requirements for Parkitect. You can find this on Parkitect's Steam Store page. Parkitect is fairly CPU dependent at the moment, so a good CPU is needed for optimal performance.

Video Drivers
Make sure your video card drivers are up to date. Out of date drivers can cause crashes and other graphical weirdness.

Nvidia[www.nvidia.com]
AMD/ATI[support.amd.com]
Intel HD Graphics[downloadcenter.intel.com]

Steam also has a handy tool to find the latest drivers for your hardware. Click Steam, then Check for Video Driver Updates... in the top left of the Steam window.
Check Integrity
Sometimes an install or update fails and we don't know why. To check your install, right click Parkitect in Steam and click on Properties. Then click on Local Files and Verify Integrity of Game Cache. This could fix some particularly weird issues.

Performance Issues
We're aware that Parkitect has it's share of performance issues, especially on large parks with lots of stuff going on. Optimization is an ongoing process and we've made huge strides in this area since the pre-alpha. Parkitect is very CPU intensive, and requires a pretty good CPU to get smooth framerates.

If you believe your computer is up to the specs, please try updating drivers and closing other applications. It might help!

We're constantly working on improving the game, and we spend a lot of time on performance. We also have to make the rest of the game though, so bear with us.
Feedback
If you've found a bug and can reproduce it and have pictures of it or a save file, please send us an email at themeparkitect@gmail.com. Here's some handy steps for bug reporting:

  • Tell us how exactly to reproduce the problem with all the necessary steps. Being able to reproduce the issue on our end is the most important thing for us to be able to resolve issues quickly.

  • Ideally, send us a savegame that demonstrates the problem happening if it is a problem that can be shown like this.

  • Especially for crashes and performance issues please mention the operating system and hardware you're running the game on. It'd also help to attach the game log - see the next section for where to find it.

Additionally, try asking in the forums! The community may have experience in this issue and can help you fix or work around it for the time being. We also read the forums frequently and can come by to help.
Crashes, Log Files
If the game crashes we need to know which operating system you're using and your log file to figure out the problem.
You can find this log file in the following location:
  • On Windows: C:\Users\[Your Windows Username]\AppData\LocalLow\Texel Raptor\Parkitect\Player.log
  • On Mac: ~/Library/Logs/Texel Raptor/Parkitect/Player.log
  • On Linux: ~/.config/unity3d/Texel Raptor/Parkitect/Player.log

This log file resets whenever you restart the game, so send us your copy immediately after you experienced a crash.
Updates
We're constantly updating Parkitect, usually at the end of each month. You can follow our progress on various sites to see what we're up to.

One thing i found for mac users that have retina display issues is to change the resolution via an app called 'EasyRes' to a normal resolution.
