Act 1 - The Arcade Cab

Welcome to another Kung Fury Guide!

Before we start walking through, the controls are a little different.

You now have 2 walk types - hold a direction to walk, double tap to dash. There's a slight recovery delay between dashes.
You now have a hearts meter (life bar) - you'll die after 3 hits instead of 1.

Onto the story!

The Arcade Cab

Story Mode kicks you off, much like the movie, in a battle to the death with a rather moody looking arcade machine. Here's what you need to know.

Life bar:
4 segments (but takes 5 attack rounds to fully deplete)

Attacks:
Seismic ground punish - When he's floating above your head, after staying still for a moment, he's going to drop. The seismic wave of this attack has a range of roughly 1 dash - if you only dash out of the way once, it'll still hit you.
Due to the delay after doing a dash, the fastest way to get out of the way is to walk for one step, then dash - no delay and it gets you just out of range. Immediately after he lands, dash back in and mash in the direction of the enemy.

Air strike:
It takes a while to get this right, but you'll have to eyeball it. Simply walk until you're perfectly between two of the bombs and stay still. You'll have to put up with 4 or so waves of bombs before he goes back to seismic attacks.
It's easiest to get the difference right if you always dodge in the same direction.
There's not a lot of room for error, just gotta persevere!
Act 1-2: The Alley

Ok! Back to old school Kung Fury Rules:

Foot Soldier: 1 Hit Forward (F)
Nazi: 2 Hits Forward (FF)
Nurse: Forward, Back, Forward (FBF)
Machine: (FFFF)

HOWEVER, as Barbariana, you have the added joys of a special attack that comes after every 4 successful hits with no misses in-between. It'll just fire as soon as you push either direction and wipe out everything in that direction that's on screen.

So, as in normal mode, DON'T MASH and work on your multiplier.
This time, though, keep counting to five in your head, knoing that every "five" will be a special attack that will wipe out everything in whetever direction you're facing, leaving you open to being attacked in the other direction.

For thiis reason, try to group your combos into attacks that add up to for.
For example:
1 Foot Soldier (F) + 1 Nurse (FBF) = FFBF, leaving you with 1 special to fire off as you wish.

Other combos:
2 Nazis (FF+FF)
1 Machine (FFFF)
2 Foot soldier's + 1 Nazi (F+F+FF)

You get the point, keep it in four's. The best thing to do is simply attack the machines whenever you've just fired the gatling gun, leaving you with another gatling attack straight away.

Other things worth noting:
You'll die after 2 hits.
If there arent many enemies on the screen and you have a special charged, it might be worth waiting, to make the most of it.
There are four waves of enemies
At the 6 o'clock (bottom, middle) of the screen, you can see how many enemies are left in each wave.

BOSS TIME! - Return of the Arcade Cab

This time the arcade machine has some new tricks and some even worse puns.

Life bar:
Roughly 6-7 attacks, depending on how quick you are

Attacks:
Laser beam - You'll see one hand glow red. The machine will be fixed in one direction when this happens, so stand just behind his back leg (the longer one) to stay out of attack range.

Double laser beam - Both hands will glow red instead (imagine that!). This time, stand directly beneath the machine to stay out of attack range.

Lightning Ball - When you see the machine flexing his robot muscles, and the colors on the screen get a little more retro, it's time to put some space between you and you enemy.
I typically walk away until the machine is just out of view in the top left or right of my screen. Try to keep it the same distance each time, as this will help with your timing.
Then, when he fires off the lightning ball, double tap in its direction, just before it hits you and it'll get fired back at him. Keep firing it back at him til it glows red (this will take 4 successful deflections), then start walking back towards him, and start attacking him as he lands.
WARNING: When the machine's life is low, the lightning ball will take 5 volleys, not 4, to turn red, so don't get too cocky and walk in early like I did!
Act 1-3: The Right Alley

Holy crap this was confusing!

So, you're playing as hackerman. Seemingly, he needs to "hack" to charge his weapon.
Charging the weapon takes 5 attacks in the right direction. That's 5 attacks forward on ANY enemy except the nurse where it'll be FBFBF.

After charging your weapon, tap in any direction where there's an enemy until there's nothing left on the screen. At this point you'll have to wait for another enemy and start charging your weapon all over again.

I find keeping a nurse nearby when the screen's quiet, by charging 3-4 times, rather than killing her, is useful as FBFBFBFBFBFBFBF is a pretty solid panic strategy when there's too much on the screen and you can't get your gun to charge.
Other than that, it's just carnage. Good luck!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BOSS TIME!

Get ready to dodge airstrikes!
There are going to be a lot of them. Same strategy as before, stand between the bombs as evenly spaced as possible. It seemed more lenient this time around. DONT DASH, the delay will get you bombed on.

Once the airstrikes have subsided, the arcade machine will disappear off screen and dash attack you, most likely from the direction he left in, but not always! Attack my mashing frantically in whatever direction he comes from, as early as possible. Don't stop maching til he takes off again. You just have to be quick on this one!
Act I-4 - The Left Alley
Oh look! a totally different world!

Here you'll play as Tricercop who has a difficult to master, albeit very rewarding means of taking down the enemy.

His attacks are very similar to Kung Fury's except the recoil from his gun pushes him backwards, rather than driving him forwards.

What this means is that you need to be much more conscious of what's behind you and what's going to be closest to you after you've attacked.

My technique for this has been to always attack in one direction, until something gets too close behind, and then start attacking in the other direction. This way, you don't have to think too much about where on the screen Triceracop is going to end up.

Nurses can be hit with virtually any 3 hit combo in this version, but try to stick to one or two, to keep things simple. Personally, I like FBB and FFF for managing my movement.

Additionally, Triceracop can boost through enemies due to the recoil on his guns. This is usefull when you're surrounded as you can just mash in one direction to put all the enemies on one side of you.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BOSS TIME

The arcade machine is back with a vengeance and has his entire arsenal of tricks to fight you. As Triceracop, this isn't so bad - his guns allow you to hit lightning balls from any range, as long as they're on the rebound and you can attack the arcade machine from a slightly better range, which helps with things like seismic attacks.
Other than that, you just have to be really obsevrant of what the arcade machine is doing. All of his attacks have quite obvious "tells" fortunately!
Act II - Return of the OG!
Back to Kung Fury proper with 7 waves of goot old fashioned, original controls. Nothing fancy here!
