When you first start out in rust you have a rock and a torch (at least on most servers). You may think when you spawn in, "I should go hit a tree and then hit a rock" but no no no, you don't want to do that. The first step to being a scrub is running around until you get killed/kill someone.

Once you have been rekt/rekt a scrub you can start to hit trees and rocks with your rock. Once you have gotten some resources you then have to make a weapon and go kill/ be killed by more people and after that hopefully lose all the stuff you just collected.

Once you have died and lost all your resources, go to a house with someone in it and sit outside the door. When they open the door run into their base and scream random crap at them until you die. Once you have died you can finally start to be a scrub.

So you just died so now what you need to do is find a raided base and take it over, once you have done that you should make yourself a waterpipe

Once you have taken over a base and made a waterpipe you should go to the base where you ran in screaming random crap, wait outside, and when they open the door you should scream Allahu Akbar and shoot the guy with said waterpipe. IF you kill him find his cabinet and take his base. After you have done that you are finally a scrub and you win at life, without even having to build a base yourself.
