How to unlock the 62 FPS cap in 2 minutes!

Steps:

• First, ensure that v-sync is disabled with the game launcher.
  
  
  
  
• Next, navigate to your game's config folder. The default path should be something like this, but could be different on your computer:
  
  C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\D4 Dark Dreams Don't Die\Engine\Config\
  
  
• Then open the file called:
  BaseEngine
  
  
  
  
• Then press crtl+f to open a find box. Then type:
  
  maxsmoothed
  
  
• Change the integer (AKA "number") from 62 to 144, or whatever number you would like, ideally your monitor's refresh rate.
  
  
  
  
• Click file, then click save.

I haven't noticed any physics or other glitches with this. It seems that as with other Unreal Engine games the frame cap is pointless.

If steam validates the game it will over-ride this mod. However, as an older game, you will not see many updates being pushed over the system.

If you expeirence any problems and want to revert back just go to your steam library. Right click D4, select properties, and then local files, and then click Verify Integrity of Game Cahce. This will redownload the config file and reset your fram cap to 62.
