If you played the original Fruit of Grisaia, you may have noticed that this brief installment doesn't use the same font. Instead, it kind of looks ugly. Don't look any further, I'll get this sorted.

What you need:

• The original Fruit of Grisaia's original font (should be installed if you played it)
  
• OR alternatively, download a fixed-width font of choice. My recommendation is Inconsolata[levien.com], which is used as the base for Grisaia's custom font, which was branded 'Grisaia Custom SP' (by Sekai Project).
  
• You have started the game at least once

We'll fix the font:

OK, let's get started.

Your font should look like this at the start:


I'm assuming you started the game at least once and then you shut it down. Your game should be turned off during this process. Don't do this while the game is running!!

Click on the Start menu or hit the Start button on your keyboard. Start typing:

Now, hit enter on your keyboard.

This opens Explorer gets you into the /AppData/Roaming directory. Open the Frontwing folder.

You should now see the "The Fruit of Grisaia -The Leisure of Grisaia-" folder. Click on it and open the "setup.xml" file you see with Notepad or Notepad++.

Use Ctrl-F to find "font" and you'll find this section:


Do you see the problem? If you have The Fruit of Grisaia installed, the FONT section is not missing a particular piece:


Replace the empty <faceruby></faceruby> and <face></face> with these in the config for The Leisure of Grisaia. You can also enter whatever font you like.

If you downloaded Inconsolata, use this:


YOU NEED THE FONTS YOU'RE SPECIFYING HERE or the game might not run. If you're having trouble, you can always leave them empty to get the default font again.

If you did this right, your font now looks like this:


Ahhh, much better, no?

To avoid font wrapping issues, I recommend you use fixed-width fonts, such as the ones I noted.
