Introduction
Within this guide I will attempt to guide all of you who enter into attaining the Continue to Live?? achievement as well as a number of other achievements along the way.

This guide has been divided into each chapter within the game, excluding the chapters in which no documents or events occur.

Within you will find the locations to the vast majority of photo, letter, newspaper, instrument, radio and events that exists and/or provides a morale point for the endings. Items which give morale points will be highlighted.

Finally in the additional information section you will find information about the possible locations of certain required items e.g. Lighter, Car Batteries.

This is my first guide, I am open to tips for improvements to the guide, thank-you and enjoy.
Let's Go
1. At the begining of the game when you enter the house you should find a drawer directly ahead of you, within you will find the first photo.
2. After leaving the house walk forwards down the path, you should see a path leading off to the right, follow it until you come across a house with a jeep outside of it as seen below. Enter the house and on the table in the corner you will find a letter. Morale point.

3.This one is a little tricky, When you get about this far to the road, you will want to turn left and look for a series of three fallen trees, this will work as a reasonable marker for the ruin you are looking for. Morale point.
This location was provided courtesy of Makta
Hint:

4. Much later once you have traveled to the roadside, you will come across a car on the road. Inside is a photo.

Having trouble with the achievement Angel Trumpetting? Below is an image and hint to help if you need it.

Hint: Not every discovery is found by going forward.

Meeting
No events or items are found within this chapter.
Hospital
Ok lets orientate ourselves, looking below you will see the door are numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4. I will refer to each as 1st set through to 4th set. This style of organisation will be used throughout the guide.

1. First, go to the left door in the 2nd set of doors, then look into the first drawer on the left side of the room, inside is a letter. Morale point.

2. Then go to the 3rd set of doors, in the left room look to the table at the back. Morale point.

This will grant you the "What happened?" achievement.

3. Next go to the 3rd set of doors and look in the room on the right, inside this room is a drawer with a picture.

4. Now go to the 4th set of doors, in the room on the right on the desk you will find a letter. Morale point.

5. Then go to the corpse in the corner for the next letter. Morale point.

On the Farm
First up, go find that bucket, it's either in this house, with the lighter.

1. Or its in the building below. In any case, inside this building you will find a photo.

2. Next up, go to church.

You should light that candle. This is an achievement, Faith in God will help us. Morale point.

After finishing the task set for this area, hint: Look around the pipe arch., you enter the day half of this chaper.

3. Using the arch as a point of reference go to the 1st house on the right, inside you will find a piano, play it until the music repeats. Morale point

This item was provided courtesy of Makta

4. Go into the 2nd house on the right, within is a letter.

You now want to go find the house with the smoldering campfire outside, you will need something for later.

5. Go inside, grab that ax and then look on the table to find a letter. Morale point.

6. This house is important, figure out why?

If you are having trouble look below for answers.
Hint:Why is that wardrobe there?
Once you have it sussed you need do something else.
Hint:Read the letter, you know what you must do.

This is an anchievement, Raskolnikov.

7. Now all thats done, go to the next house along on the left, third house on the left if you are using the arch reference point. Go inside and on the table in the room to the right is a newspaper.

Little help for this area, see the hint.
Hint: Two houses with secrets inside, go give yourself a workout.
Trolley
There are no events or items to find in this chapter, however there is an achivement, Hanged people.

If you are having trouble then look below for help.

And what you are looking for.

Arrival
1. Oh, end of the line, well lets go meet the locals. Go in here, there is a letter, and something useful.

2. Now make a run for it, this is important, you must arrive first. Otherwise its back to the begining with you. This is an achievement, Hero. Morale point.
Overnight
If you had to do that quick time sequence more than once you will understand. Wasn't that guys voice annoying. :P

1. Lets get to it, turn around at look at the kids jigsaw and complete it. It's an achievement, Remember childhood. Morale point.

2. Next turn around and look on the shelf in that room, theres a letter. Morale point.

3. Go into the hallway, and sort that crooked photo out. Morale point.

4. Now you can enjoy the guy outside, but dont forget to go over here afterwards.Morale point.

After you have talked and looked, you should go to bed.
Flashback
There are no events or items in this chapter, however you can get an achivement, Voice of hell. theres a clue in the title.

If its not enough, then look to the hints below.

Hint: The number of the beast
Answer: 666-66-66
Escape
1. This is a mandatory event, little tip, look for the medikit in the shipping container at the start. It is also an achievement, Friend. Morale point.

Give the guy a medikit after you start to get away.
Bor
This a big area and it can be confusing to describe where to go. So for reference, I will be saying that the level you start on is the ground floor, then first and second floor after that. Also i will mention about stuff before a bridge and after it. so we can divide this area into more managable chunks.
Oh be careful, there be traps about.
1. First up, look for the buses and go between them, go have a nosey around and find a secret! This is an achievement, Small world. Morale point.

Good now, go to the first floor and enter the right side room. Admire the artwork. This is an achievement. See below for answer.

2. Great, now up to the second floor, go to the right side room, on a desk is a book of drawing, also in this room is a letter.

3. Back to the main room on this floor and look for the letter on the floor next to the corpse. Morale point.
Now down to the first floor and through the doors and over the bridge, to the left is a pathway. Go down it and use the image below for reference.

4. Go to the 2nd set of doors, on the left side in the other room there is a letter on a drawer.

5. Now here comes the drawn out bit. Go to the 3rd set of doors, in the red looking room, you will find a projector. This is important. But it needs power, looks like a car battery, better go find one somewhere on this level?

Once you have the battery, plug it in, and remember the code, you need to go back to the 2nd floor and go into the left room, find the safe and open it. This is an achievement, Top secret. Morale point.

Having trouble with those batteries, well look below if you can't find them anywhere!

1st.
2nd.
3rd.
(Last image is of a room in the area just before the bridge)
Tunnels
Another big area and it can be quite confusing. So we will split this up, in the before encounter and after encounter areas.

1. First up go down the tunnel and into the first room on the right, look for the 17A over the door.
Inside you will find a newspaper. Morale point.

2. And a photo.

3. Next up in that main room you will have the second door on the right, this one is not numbered.

Go inside and turn right, then left. You have two sets of doors. 1st set of doors on the right is a photo.

4. Then with the 1st set of doors on the left, is a letter, this one is needed for progression.

Now back to that main area, you have a tunnel going left and a tunnel going right, go right for what I think is a cool easter egg. This is an achievement, Opacification.

5. Now we move onto the area after the encounter. Breathe, take your time, they can't get through that door. so go forward, follow the corridor and enter the first room on the right. Activate the HAM radio and listen, this is an achievement, What the numbers mean? And its a reference to something.... Morale point.

6. Cool, now go through the room with the red light, the first one on the left if you use the entrance as a reference point. Theres an important item in this room.

Keep moving forward and in the room with the beds there is a photo.

Float
Short chapter, and another reference to something....

1. After getting across the water, go all the way along, on a barrel to the left of you is a letter. Morale point.

And that's this chaper done.
Danger
No events or items to collect here, except for the AK you get. There is an achivement here, Dangerous.

If you are having trouble then look at the below image for a hint, still stuck then read the answer below.
Hint:

Answer:
It is possible to kill all the wolves withouit expending a whole magazine. Careful accuracy and focus. But failing that, don't pick up extra ammo, kill as many wolves as you can then get your ax or knife out and go full melee.
Metro
No events or items are within this chapter.

However you will know after this chapter if you have managed to achive the Continue to Live?? achievement by what cutscene you get.

From here you will have found all the morale points needed to get the above achivement. If you need the other ending then all you need to do is miss just one morale point to get the The past is always with us achivement, and for the Repose achivement just don't look at anything, let your partner start the fight with the bandits and so on.

Simple :D

There are still morale points to get however and more story to learn, so continue on to find the rest.
Big City
1. Ok we made it, so first off lets turn right, and do to the end fo the street, go inside this building.

Go to the first door, go ahead, then turn right, and right again, go all the way forward on the table is a passport and it has some numbers circled, remember them or get a screenshot.

2. Now go to the green building behind the church.

Go ahead and then turn left, go ahead again to the end then turn left, in that room is a guitar, play it until it starts to repeat. Morale point.

3. Back to the buildings entrance, go ahead, turn right, go through the first doorway, turn left then turn right and then left again. There is a letter on the cabinet at the back of the room.

4. Now go down the street, between the guy going after car batteries (one way of getting a pick lock) and the allyway with the girl in it (the point where one of the endings occurs), there is a building with an open door.

Go inside and to the 1st floor, first door on the right, enter and go to the safe at the end of the room, use the numbers from the passport you saw earlier.

This gets you an achivement, Burglar (This is the other way of getting the picklocks). Morale point.

5. Now we are at the end if you are getting the picklock from the guy with the batters then look around the city for them, you need two, otherwise look in the additional information section. Go out of the building and turn left, at the end of the street is a building. Go inside and up the stairs, turn right and use the picklocks on the closed appartment.

Enter and find the letter in the lounge. Morale point.

Complete the game and we are fully done!
Additional Information
Below you will find the three locations of batteries in the city for chapter Big City.
Also the achivement, I hate mannequins! can be found.

Go along the same path but instead fo turning right a second time just go ahead and out the window.

Here is the first battery for this chapter and the above achivement.

Second battery in green building.

Third battery in final building.

It´s been some time since I finished this game but one thing is for sure, I followed this guide here and the guide I already mentioned in my previous post and I got all 3 endings easily. Try combining/looking at these 2 guides together and you will eventually succeed. I am sure of it...
RavanH 4 Oct, 2022 @ 3:12am
Thanks @Crys1s, I'll try the guide you suggested :) And do you know how to get the "Past is always with us" ending? I mistakingly said in my earlier post that I reached that ending every time but I was the Repose ending... I actually reached that even by picking up, listening and looking at many things throughout the game but apparently not enough for the Continue to live ending? It remains very unclear to me what exactly makes the difference in this game. Too bad there is no indication of morale level or anything. Even a subtle one like the stained logbook paper as an indication of health.

Repose ending - Play the game and only care about the main story. Though, you can still kill grandmother, give your friend first aid kit and open safes. But don’t pick up anything at all and don’t listen to any radio.
Continue to live?? ending - I followed this guide here and got all endings without any problem...

Hi, is there anybody who can tell me how many moral points are needed for which endings? And where I can see how many morale points are gathered during a game? Is it really NO morale points to get Repose or ALL morale points to get Continue to live? I've tried NO morale points but think I still got one point for drinking wodka in the village during Overnight and got the "Past is always with us" ending again... Somehow the other two endings seem too hard to achieve :/
LexterBoo 16 Aug, 2021 @ 5:06pm
Thanks for working.
This missing:
1. Let's Go: a picture in the car. (no moral point)
+(I see you guys posted the picture of a sunflower at the Trolley part, but it didn't give a morale point)
2. On the Farm: photoshoot the church (+1 moral point)
3. Big City: home - play your own piano, though it doesn't matter at this point (+1 moral point)

If you want a new ending, you always have to START A NEW GAME and delete files.
If you continue or reload the game, you will do everything differently, you will get the last ending again and again.

Hi, since my comment, I have managed to figure out how to get it after a few trial-and-errors. Turns out 11+(3) morale points is enough to still get the good ending without the companion.

Yeah I know, I was really late to this game. But I figured I can't be the last to struggle with this. :D

In case anyone later down the line needs it:
[*] Corpse Note in Hospital
[*] Note in the left Hospital room
[*] The radio in the Hospital
[*] The medical report in the hospital
[*] Took a picture of the poem on the wall when riding the railcar
[*] Fixed the tilted picture frame in grandpa's house. I also had a conversation with the companion next to the fireplace
[*] Gave my companion the medkit
[*] Saw the Easter egg in the beginning of "Bor"
[*] Note near the dead body on the 3rd floor of "Bor"
[*] Newspaper in the tunnels in the room "17A"
[*] Communication radio in the tunnels

Last chapter:
[*] Collected 2 batteries (legitimately)
[*] Played the guitar 4 times
[*] Opened the safe

You know bud, it's been so long since i did this guide that I can't even recall anymore. So I will see about redoing the game and adding anything mentioned/missed from comments and such.

Let's see about making this as accurate as it can be.
Chrimle 16 Feb, 2021 @ 6:47pm
You say you only have to miss one morale point to get "The past is always with us", I interpreted that as I could miss one morale point in the last chapter (Big City). However, I have tried ALL combinations of morale points and ALL of them ends up with the repose ending. (I even tried finding the batteries legitimately, instead of stealing the batteries while his back is turned).

@erc 's solution does not solve the mystery of how "the past is always with us" is achieved and editing registries are against the unified achievement hunting rules for those of you that are achievement hunters.

Is it possible ALL morale points have to be taken but not give the medkit? I am still unaware of how you can affect whether or not the partner will die.
Achrdili 8 Aug, 2020 @ 5:59pm
also you skipped a picture in car during first level.
