Hello Ladies and Gents,

The "Farmers' Favorite" achievement is one of the more time consuming achievements on the list of 17 possible. If you're a completionist like me, then I hope this tid bit of info will help you out. Let's get started.

You only have to help each farmer once in order to get this achievment. Some of the farmers own multiple fields (up to three). The only fields with a single owner are numbers 2, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11, 16, 18, 19, 20, 26, and 29. DO NOT buy any of those fields before you complete this achievement, or you will have to start over like I did with a new game. Here are the field numbers grouped by owner:

I didn't bother typing the names because, let's be honest, do you really care? I don't! HA! Anyway, now if you want to buy a field, you know which ones you can buy without ruining the achievement.

Now for actually earning the achievement. Well then, there are different activities you can do for each field, depending on its growth stage. I found the quickest and easiest way to get through these is when the field is in it's early growth stage. This can be determined on the map by the color code (lightest shade of green is the first growth stage). You will simply have to fertilize the field for the farmer, which is a fast task. You won't earn as much money, but there are much easier ways to get cash anyway, right? FYI, don't try to fertilize at night! You won't be able to see the dirt get darker after it's fetilized which makes doing that job almost impossible! It's also more difficult to fertillize in the last growth stage (dark green on the map) because the plants themselves get in the way of seeing the color of the dirt change.

If the field you want to do a job for isn't in the right stage of growth, or you need daylight, or both, just change the game clock to 120X in game settings menu and change the plant growth to fast. Once you have everything lined up, change the time back to real time and turn the plant growth off. This assumes that you are playing on easy mode. I'm not sure if you can change these settings on normal or hard.

Along with the fields that you have to do, field numbers 2, 3, 6, 9, 21, 24, 25, and 30 are the smaller of the remaining fields that are owned by the remaining farmers for a grand total of 19 poor bastards you have to help out to get this achievement!

Doing it like this, I managed to earn the achievement in just under 5 hours of gameplay (I realized after my 3rd harvesting mission that there was a faster way) and earned $221,838 of in-game money while doing it. Not too shabby. This is in fact great for those of you just starting out along with finding all of the gold nuggets. There are multiple guides for making money, so we won't go there.

I don't recommend doing the planting or harvesting missions on the bigger fields. I harvested field 5 and it took me about an hour in real time. UGH! Also, I read elsewhere that if you select the mission, exit, then re-enter, the equipment the farmer gives you to use changes. I have not tried this myself, though.
