There has been rumors. There has been complains and sad faces.
In the comment section of various achievement guides a lot of people is unhappy with the decission of developers that thought it might be good idea to put two certain achievements for Lucius game.

As you might already know, we are talking about "I Like This Game" and "I'm Addicted" achievement. Requirements are self explanatory - Play game for duration of 20 and 40 hours.
Nothing would be wrong if game itself didn't last you for like 8-10 hours. That's not the worst actual fact. Rumor is that you have to really be in game to game counter counting the time.

Basically it was not rumor. It was fact, that you was not able to ALT+TAB the game, you was not able to minimalize the game and also you was not able to let it idle in the MAIN MENU or even PAUSE in game. Only way the counter would be working was if you let the game idling with no menu open or pause. Even if you did not pause the game and let it run and while that you was doing something else for example on the another screen if you have, it still was not working and counter was stopped.
It was also confirmed by few players that counter got back to 0 hours when you start a new game.
What a f*ckery right?

Game was released 4 years ago, but just early this year this has changed.
A lot of people don't know it, but devs has changed it so the counter is NO MORE ATTACHED TO THE GAME BUT TO THE STEAM LIBRARY COUNTER.

I don't have exact time stamp when this update was made, but I believe it was between January and March 2016. (I might be wrong)

So the current situation is that you no more need to be in game. You can easily have it in main menu, you can minimalize it and you can also ALT+TAB it if you wish and the counter would be working.

It is also confirmed that you can use idling software for it. There is no need of using speedhacks and Cheatengine as lot of people suggested in the forums.

If the achievement doesn't pop up itself when you reach 20/40 hours, exit the game and start it up again.
