This is a guide to fabled flower spawn locations in Meadow. There are 7 different fabled flowers you can find, and they are, as the name implies, much harder to come across than ordinary flowers.

Fabled flowers give more essence points than regular flowers, but due to their rare-ness I don't think this is an effective way of raising score. The main reason to collect fabled flowers (besides a personal challenge/goal) is to complete multiple achievements. These achievements are:

1. Only the best will do - Picked 10 fabled flowers.
2. Because I deserve it - Picked 100 fabled flowers.
3. Doctor Malcolm - Found all types of flowers.

Before beginning the guide there are a few important things to note:

1. Flower spawns are random. The map in this guide shows where fabled flowers can spawn, not where they will spawn. Sometimes an area will have several fabled spawns, sometimes it will have none. As such, I don't recommend going out of your way to look for a specific flower. Instead, if you are in an area, check the attached map to see where to search as you pass through.

2. This map is not complete by any means. It shows every fabled flower I was able to find after days of exploring, but I'm 100% certain there are more I couldn't find. Because of this I would really appreciate if the community could help me with spawns I missed. I'll be continuing to search on my own as well, but extra eyes (and paws) help. Anyone that gives a confirmed spawn (preferably with screenshot so I know exactly where it is), I'll add your name to a list of contributors at the end of the guide.

3. The original map was created by Nemo. With their permission to use it, I added only the fabled spawns.

To see the map in detail, click on the image, then click on the link above it. You can then magnify it to see up close (or feel free to dowload the picture).
Each of the different flowers is marked by colored circles. If 2 circles are very close to each other it usually means that you'll find one flower or the other at that location, but not both. Dotted lines show that the path to a flower is behind or inside terrain, usually inside a cave.

I'll update the map image once every 3-5 additional spawn points added.

If you're not sure which flowers you're missing, try looking for them by returning to den. In the den, surrounding all your animals, is every type of flower you have collected so far. Compare these with the screenshots included in the next categories (or even better, the screenshots in "A Guide to Herbs" for higher quality) to see what fabled flowers you still need to find.

Blue Man-Flower
Worth 50 Essence Points

This flower is, well, shaped like a man. It may be easy to mistake for a blue shard when hunting, but the green stalk gives it away at closer inspection. The most useful information I have on this one is that most commonly spawns on mountains/tall rocks. Search the tops and sides of mountains specifically if you're looking for this flower. They can spawn on mountains across the whole map, but, like most fabled flowers, they are most common around the perimeter.

Multicolored Flower
Worth 50 Essence Points

Blue and purple flower, with 3 stalks and 3 buds. It also has small orange flowers across the base and near the top buds. This flower is usually found on small cliffs and mountains, though occasionally at the very top of a tall mountain in the southern part of the map. The most common location it spawns at is the southeastern mountains; second most common is behind the largest northwestern mountain. It also has one uncommon spawn very close to the central tree: the closest fabled flower that I could find.

Trumpet Skirt Flower
Worth 50 Essence Points

A very tall flower, with pink and yellow buds. This flower is usually found closer to the ground than the mountain-bound Blue Man-Flower and Branching Bud Flower. It is most common in the south autumn areas of the map. They usually spawn on small mountains to the south and southeast, and inside Fall Cave.

Gold Flower Lilypad
Worth 75 Essense Points

Probably the most common fabled flower, and worth the most essence too. An easy to spot, large, shiny orange-yellow lilypad. These can spawn in most bodies of water across the map, but they are most often found by waterfalls. In particular, the waterfalls and lake above Spiral Cave have the most possible Gold Flower Lilypad spawns. Strangely enough, the most common spawn I encountered was a single lilypad to the far snowy west, right below an arch by the large stone crystal. They are also known to spawn inside Fall, Spiral, and Crystal Caves.

Twisting Horn
Worth 50 Essence Points

Easy to recognize, 2 dark green branches intertwining. This fabled flower spawns on small mountains and rock structures, usually not high up but at a medium distance from the ground. They are found mostly in the snowy western area, the northeastern hills, and the far northwest cliffs behind the largest mountain in the game. This may have been the rarest fabled flower for me, with the fewest spawns I encountered on my travels.

Branching Bud Flower
Worth 50 Essence Points

A long, horizontal curved stem with several red-yellow buds. Like most fabled flowers, they usually spawn around the perimeter of the map. This one is most common on the sides of mountains and on low cliffs/ledges next to water. The southeastern, eastern, and northwestern mountains are where you can find most of the Branching Bud Flower spawns.

Many White Flowers
Worth 60 Essence Points

As the name implies, this fabled is a cluster of small white buds on crooked branches. These flowers spawn most commonly in the northern half of the map, but can be found occasionally to the south. There are several spawns in the northwestern mountains, as well as the northern plains. In these plains the flower can be hard to spot due to its color blending in with parts of the surrounding: look and listen for the shimmering when in the area to locate one.
