V1.7.2

This update is for vanilla only. CK2+ and HIP are unaffected since they will probably not update to Holy Fury for some time. If you want to use the previous version for some reason, you will find the previous version in the forum link.

Holy Fury
  • New african cultures added to African Heartlands/Price discounts
  • African Mount Heartlands is now affected by the African Rains modifiers in it, and neighboring provinces
  • Duchy of Tahert in North Africa added to eligible locations to breed a Barbary Destrier

Changes and Balancing
  • Added a new image for all Destrier type horses, each horse type now has it's own image.
  • Al Buraq: Now requires supernatural events to be on(player} or unrestricted(AI)
  • Italian Mount Heartlands: South Eastern Europe is no longer an exception to the increased range bonus
  • Mounted Combat has been temporarily disabled
  • All mounted combat rating has been replaced with vanilla personal combat rating according to the following:
    • 1 => 4
    • 2 => 7
    • 3 => 10
    • 4 => 13
    • 5 => 16

Bugfixes
  • Mount upkeep now displays properly on other characters
  • Looted mounts will now always properly be transferred back to their previous owners
  • Request Chinese Horse's tooltip now looks cleaner

  • New Horse: Galician Mountain Horse available in the Spanish Heartlands
  • New Horse: Nisean Horse available in the Bactrian Heartlands
  • New Horse Armor: Frankish Horse Armor available in the Frankish Heartlands

Changes and Balancing
  • A character's capital is now always considered when calculating interaction distance to a Heartlands, instead of being restricted to Counts and Nomads
  • Greek Cataphract Armor: increased defence bonus to 5%
  • Halved chance of dying in all combat events
  • Added more modifiers for AI to decide if they should spare or kill a yielding opponent

Bugfixes
  • Fixed dead opponents sometimes killing you in mounted combat (oops...)
  • Fixed issue with spanish and irish bred horses not getting a boost to inheriting Fertile
  • Fixed bred mounts sometimes getting more than 2 traits
  • Fixed Players unable to buy Tibetan Yaks (Has nobody noticed this?)
  • Armor needs repair event now behaves properly when you have Greek Cataphract Armor
  • Greek Cataphract Armor now properly reduces the chance your mount gets randomly injured in battle

Misc
  • Unless there are any more major bugs, this will likely be the last update until Holy Fury releases.

New Features
  • New mount: Dray Horse, replaced pony. (existing ponies are unaffected in order to not break your ongoing games, I will remove them after a while)
  • New Unique horse: Al-Buraq, obtained from an event for zealous/pious muslims
  • Added mount upkeep costs, each mount will have a yearly upkeep cost of 4 per quality, elephants have an additional 6 yearly cost
  • New horse armor, Greek Cataphract Armor available in the Greek Heartlands


Changes and Balancing
  • Mount prices reduced by varying amounts due to introduction of upkeep system
  • Sell mounts decision values revised due to cheaper mounts
  • Rouncey: Replaced -5% Attrition with 2 Vassal Opinion
  • AI will not give commanders mounts unless they already own one themselves
  • AI nomads will now only buy quality 3 and above horses, they will also use a seperate system to buy horses with prestige rather than money
  • Added hidden event to return any looted mounts to their proper owners (lootings mounts will break most of the mod's functions for the looter)
  • Added more conditions for AI to turn Glitterhoof into a mount, incase you decide to set supernatural events to unrestricted

Bugfixes
  • Fixed AI unable to buy Frankish Chargers
  • Fixed AI upgrading mount armor not always deducting the proper amount of money

  • One more Mounted Combat tactic added, always available unless you or your opponent is using an elephant

  • New Decision to give unlanded commanders a mount for both stats and to use in mounted combat. These horses will be removed when the commander dies, becomes landed, or is no longer a commander.

Changes and Balancing
  • Artifacts:
    1. Jennet: replaced 5% pursue attack with 5% pursue bonus
    2. Charger: increased melee damage by 5%, added 0.25 monthly prestige
    3. Chinese War Horse: increased monthly grace by 0.5
    4. Arabian Courser: added 10% flank bonus
    5. Moorish Courser: reduced skirmish defence by 5%
    6. Bactrian Camel: increased morale defence by 5%
    7. African Elephant: reduced damage by 5%
    8. Tibetan Yak: added 5% skirmish attack bonus
    9. Scandinavian Wolf: added 5% melee attack bonus, added 10% melee defence bonus
    10. Indian Tiger: reduced melee attack by 5%, reduced melee defence by 10%, increased morale damage by 5%, added 1 martial bonus

  • Spanish/Andalusian Heartlands are now heavily influenced by the number of Christian/Muslim provinces around them
  • AI will now recalculate which mount to equip every 2 years if not in a war
  • Couchable Lance is now available to horse archery cultures
  • Players can now visit the mount market while at war, also removed the money requirement and event delay, the decision no longer defaults to high priority
  • An equipped mount can no longer be hurt by your capital getting sieged if you are using it while leading an army
  • Added -1000% fertility to Stablemaster traits (this is only visual, stablemasters couldn't marry anyways)
  • Master Stable Master trait renamed to Renowned Stable Master (thats too many Masters)

Bugfixes
  • Fixed Incitatus decision not checking if Incitatus already exists
  • Charging with lance disabled when fighting an unmounted opponent, using the "Run over" option was supposed to replace it in that situation
  • Fixed grown foals failing to get certain traits when transforming into fully grown horses
  • Fixed stablemaster triggers stacking and pushing most random events to be very positive
  • Fixed broken trigger making mounted combat sometimes failing to work, this is also why it rarely seems to occur.
  • The Fair Mounts modifier will be properly removed when your last mount dies
  • Fixed childhood event giving shy without removing timid

  • New event that has a chance to trigger instead of the normal Stablemaster giving random traits event, this one allows you to choose the trait and increases health

  • Stablemaster gives random mount trait event will now properly update the Mount's name

Changes and Balancing
  • Major revision of how Heartlands fluctuate over time, they should not get extremely rich or extremely poor anymore
  • All mount armor prices reduced by about 50%
  • Reduced all mount armors' qualties to 1/2/3, this is mostly a visual change since their effects are event based.
  • All mount prices reduced by varying amounts
  • Improved AI mount and equipment buying logic
  • Reduced chance of AI getting Red Hare from raiding China

  • You can no longer buy generic mounts and equipment when all reachable Heartlands are empty

Misc
  • Replaced all uses of "is_inaccessible_or_incapable_trigger" with a custom trigger to stop other mods from breaking a vanilla trigger...
  • I've been using an interface mod for so long I forgot it's even a mod, I disabled it and found that most of my info events' text didn't fit in the event box. I've now fixed the ones I could find.
  • Improved both welcome event and book info events, added a page on how the heartland's resources change
  • Improved a few event descriptions
  • Moved combat events to seperate file, in preparation of adding more. If for some reason you decided to stop your game while your character was in mounted combat, you'll have to wait for that character to die in order to use mounted combat again.
  • I've changed the way most random flavor events trigger, please let me know if they're either happening too frequently or not at all.

V1.2.1

HIP compatibility
  • Fixed crash that occurs when using vanilla map instead of HIP modified map
  • Using the vanilla map with HIP will have the same Mount Heartlands locations as the vanilla version, but will use HIP distance calculations.
  • Steppe Heartlands range increased by 100 for all characters to compensate for the above issue

Changes and Balancing
  • African Heartlands moved to Gao for all versions. Ongoing games are unaffected, and should cause no issues.
  • African Heartlands reduced range by 100 for non-Africans
